398: The difference lies in the concepts of Qiankun and Yin Yang.
The peach wood sword hummed and vibrated, and a cluster of dazzling golden light burst forth, enveloping the evil spirit.
In an instant, the golden light shone brilliantly, and the evil spirit screamed repeatedly as it was swallowed by the golden glow.
A moment later, the golden glow dissipated.
The people who had been standing next to the evil spirit had already collapsed to the ground, completely silent.
Their chests and abdomens had caved in; their internal organs had been eaten clean by the evil spirit.
Ye Bai frowned and formed a hand seal again. The peach wood sword flew above the evil spirit, its sharp golden light surging to trap it.
"Slay!"
After a soft command, the peach wood sword hacked down fiercely.
As the dust settled, the evil spirit was completely annihilated in the golden light, leaving behind only bloodstains and a skeleton.
Everyone breathed a long sigh of relief and slumped onto the ground.
Yang Mi wiped the cold sweat from her forehead and said fortunately, "That evil spirit was finally subdued."
Ye Bai retrieved the peach wood sword: "This thing is extremely evil; we absolutely cannot allow it to escape and wreak havoc in the secular world."
He paused and looked at the others.
"If you trust me, stay outside for now. Once I've resolved the matters inside, I'll come back out to regroup with you."
Fatty hesitated: "This..."
Yang Mi grabbed his arm and shook her head firmly.
"We believe in Ye Bai, but we can't act recklessly this time. Otherwise, none of us will survive."
Yang Mi's attitude was very serious. Fatty had no choice but to reluctantly agree.
Ye Bai smiled: "Follow me, don't run around blindly, and contact me immediately if you encounter danger."
Fatty grumbled: "How are we supposed to contact you in this place?"
Yang Mi glared at him: "Shut up."
The team moved along the Passage in the Tomb Chamber, encountering many forks in the road along the way.
However, they eventually reached the end.
This was a dead end.
The front, back, left, and right were all blocked by Stone Doors, with only an open space in the middle where a coffin was placed.
Fatty rubbed his greasy arms: "Mama mia, why does it feel so chilly?"
Yang Mi was so scared she was trembling, her hands clasped in prayer: "Please, please don't let there be ghosts..."
Ye Bai whispered: "There's definitely treasure hidden in this place. Don't even think about it, or you'll surely meet with disaster."
The group didn't dare to act rashly.
Ye Bai stepped forward and knocked on the stone coffin; it was very quiet inside.
He took out a Dagger and pried open the stone coffin lid, revealing the pitch-black, cold coffin boards.
"Holy crap, it really is a coffin!" Fatty cried out in shock, instinctively hiding behind the Female Celebrity.
Ye Bai reached out to touch the Coffin Lid, feeling wisps of yin-cold energy seeping out from the coffin and soaking into the surface of his skin.
"I'll go in first, you guys follow behind."
He suggested.
The others remained silent and acted according to his instructions.
Yang Mi said worriedly: "I always feel like this place is unusual."
Fatty swallowed hard and muttered quietly: "It would be strange if it were usual. We came here for scientific research, yet we've run into a bunch of Corpses and even a coffin. It doesn't make sense anywhere you go."
Yang Mi snorted, despising his ignorance.
Ye Bai pushed open the Coffin Lid, climbed inside, and scanned the interior casually.
It was empty; aside from the coffin boards, there was nothing.
"There are no burial goods in this coffin. Could it be that after the evil spirit was sealed, it didn't need to eat?"
He pondered for a while, then got up and retreated to the entrance of the Tomb Chamber.
Abruptly, a pungent, fishy stench wafted toward them.
Everyone covered their noses and mouths and looked up.
They saw many black Insect Eggs on the ceiling of the Tomb Chamber, writhing incessantly.
Ye Bai narrowed his eyes, saw through these Insect Eggs, and sneered: "They're actually raising Gu."
He took out a yellow talisman and stuck it to the ceiling of the Tomb Chamber.
The yellow talisman burned away, turning into ashes that scattered in the center of the Tomb Chamber.
The Insect Eggs were disturbed, twisting frantically and letting out hisses.
"No matter what you are, get lost now, or I'll refine you into Gu!" Ye Bai shouted.
Just as he finished speaking, the Insect Eggs on the ceiling of the Tomb burst apart.
A dense, subtle sound echoed throughout the Tomb.
"Not good, it's poisonous!"
A female star screamed in terror.
"Quick, get out of here!"
"Leave this place quickly! Don't touch those black Insect Eggs, hurry!"
"This thing is too disgusting, let's get out of here..."
Everyone was in a panic, rushing toward the exit.
"Go, go!" Fatty shouted at the top of his lungs.
Ye Bai, however, didn't move. He stared at the black hole-like Coffin Lid, his eyes changing as he murmured to himself: "Interesting, truly interesting."
The others moved far away from that spot, fearing they would attract more Insect Eggs.
Crack—!
A corner of the Coffin Lid was pried open, and a raspy, sinister laugh faintly echoed from the pitch-black Passage.
Immediately after, a withered, pale claw reached out from inside and grabbed the Coffin Lid.
The Coffin Lid was yanked up by sheer force, revealing a Skull face covered in rotting flesh.
Eerie green flames flickered in the Skull's eye sockets, and its mouth was wide open as if it could spit out poisonous mist.
"Ah!!!"
A shrill scream pierced through the Tomb.
Fatty was scared out of his wits; he held his head and crouched on the ground, wailing loudly: "Waaa, I'm still young, I haven't even married a wife yet, I can't die!!"
"Ye Bai, help!" Yang Mi also cried out for assistance.
Ye Bai looked at the Skull indifferently, his expression showing no ripples as he said: "An attack of this level is useless against me."
Before his voice had even faded, he slapped the top of the Skull, and it instantly shattered.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and gathered around.
"Ye Bai, how did you do that?!"
Everyone was astonished.
Ye Bai didn't speak, carefully searching the Tomb.
He saw a Mural and a thick chain.
"This should be the chain used to suppress the evil spirit," he thought to himself.
This chain was different from ordinary iron chains; it was actually forged from some kind of rare metal and contained an extremely majestic spiritual energy.
Mysterious runes were engraved on the chain, seemingly able to resist the invasion of evil and protect its owner.
Ye Bai tried to scrape off the runes with his fingernails, but found it was to no avail.
"This chain is a Magical Artifact," he mused.
He then examined the Mural on the other side, which featured a statue of an old man.
This statue was lifelike, with its hands behind its back and a deep gaze that shone with the light of wisdom, as if it were a wise man.
Beside the statue was a bronze box containing a Jade Slip.
Ye Bai picked up the bronze box and found a thin booklet inside.
Yin-Yang Secret Records!
He flipped through the booklet; it recorded many strange arts and calculations that were obscure and difficult to understand.
"This is a remnant volume, recording a mysterious art called 'Yin-Yang Art'."
Ye Bai was slightly surprised: "So that's how it is, this is the Yin-Yang Art?"
He continued flipping and found an introduction to the Onmyoji.
"Onmyoji are skilled in using Yin-Yang Art, which can reverse the universe, flip Yin and Yang, and even change the cycle of life and death..."
Seeing this Passage, Ye Bai couldn't help but click his tongue.
"This strong?!"
Ye Bai imagined that if he could learn this technique, wouldn't he be able to summon wind and rain?
He was itching with anticipation.
Unfortunately, there was only the first half; the second half was lost, and no one knew the specific contents.
Ye Bai sighed, feeling somewhat disappointed.
Just then, he noticed a line of small characters appearing on the wall of the Tomb.
"This is..."
After Ye Bai finished reading, his expression became peculiar.
