390: Nine coffins lost during a funeral rite a century ago.

Yang Mi's face was as pale as paper. Shivering, she said, "These skeletal remains... they've probably been dead for over two thousand years. It's truly a miracle they still exist... Never mind that, let's get out of here quickly. It'll be terrible if zombies show up in a moment."

Ye Bai hummed in agreement and continued walking forward.

This Underground Palace gave off a gloomy and oppressive feeling.

At some unknown point, image after image began to surface before Ye Bai's eyes—

In the images, countless soldiers clad in armor and wielding spears and halberds were fighting a life-and-death struggle against an endless tide of zombies.

The images flickered as if someone were whispering in his ear, urging him to leave quickly.

Ye Bai's heart skipped a beat. Realizing something was wrong, he quickly closed his eyes.

"What on earth were those things I saw?" he muttered to himself, his heart heavy.

Suddenly, a violent tremor struck. Immediately after, the Underground Palace began to collapse. Countless rocks tumbled down, and dust filled the air. Ye Bai held Yang Mi tightly and ran desperately toward the palace exit.

They ran out of the Underground Palace.

Outside was a tall, grand hall.

The gates of the hall were wide open, revealing a deep, dark Passage inside.

Yang Mi was panting heavily, her cheeks flushed and her chest heaving violently, making her look exceptionally alluring. Ye Bai glanced at her, retracted his gaze, and warned in a low voice, "Be careful."

He led Yang Mi by the hand, cautiously approaching the grand hall.

At that moment, Fatty also caught up and ran out.

"Hurry up!"

Fatty shouted anxiously, as if afraid that if the two of them walked too slowly, they would suffer some misfortune.

They successfully escaped from the grand hall, circled around, and returned to the entrance of the Underground Palace.

By this time, they saw that those white bones had already turned to dust and vanished in the wind.

"Mr. Ye, we should retreat. I don't dare take any more risks!" Yang Mi said worriedly.

She was a delicate woman after all, and the experience in the Underground Palace just now had frightened her.

Fatty, however, stuck to his guns and said, "Brother Ye is right. Since this is the Mausoleum of an underground emperor, there must be many treasures and precious burial items. Wouldn't we be losing out if we left empty-handed?"

Yang Mi thought about it and said, "That may be true, but this place is really too eerie. Who knows if even more powerful monsters will appear?"

Ye Bai smiled and said easily, "Don't forget, we are well-prepared veterans now. We don't fear ordinary Corpses at all."

"Oh right! How could I forget that?" Fatty burst into laughter.

Yang Mi also smiled, putting her mind at ease. "In that case, let's go!"

The three of them continued forward.

They passed through the grand hall, followed the Passage, and arrived at another grand hall.

This hall was shaped like an arched bridge, about eight meters high, with luminous pearls hanging from the ceiling, illuminating the dark Underground World.

"This hall should be the Main Tomb Chamber."

Ye Bai looked up, studying the vaulted ceiling, and mused, "According to the map markings, there are a total of seven Main Tomb Chambers in the tomb. We'll find the Main Tomb Chamber first, then look for the remaining side chambers."

He took the lead and walked forward.

The Passage extended straight ahead, and the niches on both sides were filled with various burial items. Among them, bronze vessels were the most numerous, and there was also exquisite porcelain.

These bronze vessels were all contained in wooden boxes and tightly sealed.

Ye Bai walked over and opened a wooden box, only to find lifelike Corpses lying inside. These Corpses included men and women, old and young, and some were even children, all perfectly preserved.

"These Corpses should be concubines buried with the dead," Fatty said.

"Mm!" Ye Bai nodded in agreement. "These concubines should have died around six or seven hundred years ago. These well-preserved bodies haven't been rotting for too long."

"Mr. Ye, you are truly knowledgeable and talented!" Yang Mi praised sincerely.

"Not at all, not at all!" Ye Bai said modestly. "I only know a little bit about it."

After saying that, he took out his divination compass and checked carefully. Finding the orientation was correct, he stepped forward and continued on.

After walking for about five minutes, a faint light appeared ahead.

Yang Mi said excitedly, "We've arrived! There must be an exit here!"

Ye Bai nodded in agreement. His heart warmed for some reason, and he grew excited.

Soon, they saw a massive cave. The cave was brightly lit, illuminating the surroundings, looking very much like a natural limestone cavern.

At that moment, a foul, bloody stench wafted toward them, making it hard to bear.

"I smell the scent of blood!" Yang Mi covered her mouth, her eyebrows knitting together.

"Is it the smell of bats?" Fatty asked.

Yang Mi shook her head and pointed to a corner not far away. "No! Look!"

Everyone looked over and indeed saw a swarm of bats gathered in the corner. They were massive, easily over half a person tall, their wings flapping and making a buzzing sound.

"Bats, they're bats!" Yang Mi was so scared she shrank toward Ye Bai's side.

"Don't be afraid!" Ye Bai patted her shoulder and comforted her, "Bats don't hurt people. Let's go over and take a look."

He held Yang Mi's hand and slowly approached the bat colony.

These bats caught the scent of living people and immediately swarmed over frantically.

Ye Bai didn't hesitate. He took out Talismans and slapped them onto the bats' heads.

The bats trembled all over, stopped for a moment, and then turned around to flee.

"Wow, Brother Ye is so cool!" Fatty exclaimed.

Yang Mi was also dumbfounded.

"I thought you were going to throw a grenade," she teased.

Ye Bai chuckled and said, "Let's leave quickly."

He pulled Yang Mi along and moved quickly.

This cave was very long with many branching paths. The three of them walked and stopped, taking most of the day before finally reaching the end.

"Is there... someone here?" Fatty asked in surprise.

They saw a spacious hall with nine outer coffins standing in the center, lined up in a row.

In front of the nine outer coffins, there was also a table with a sword placed on it.

The three of them stood at the entrance of the hall, staring at the nine outer coffins and the sword on the table. They felt a chill run from the soles of their feet straight to their heads, and the air seemed to freeze.

The comments in the Live Stream Room were also going crazy.

"My god, nine outer coffins! This is getting intense!"

"God Ye, stay steady. I feel like we're about to get some big loot!"

"Sister Mi, don't panic. Just cling to Ye Bai's leg!"

Ye Bai was the first to break the silence, lowering his voice. "Don't make any sudden moves. With this kind of setup, who knows what dangerous things might be hidden in those outer coffins. Let's check the surroundings for traps first."

As he spoke, he crouched low and used his flashlight to move inch by inch along the wall.

Fatty swallowed hard and followed closely behind him, muttering, "Brother Ye, let's take it easy. My poor heart is about to jump out of my chest."

Yang Mi gripped the hem of Ye Bai's clothes tightly, her expression tense but trying to stay calm. "Yes, caution first. Don't be reckless."

After circling the room and finding no obvious traps, Ye Bai slowly approached the table, his gaze locked on the sword.

The sword's body was ancient and covered in obscure runes. The hilt seemed to be made of some kind of animal bone, emitting a mysterious, eerie glow.

People in the Live Stream Room were also speculating: "That sword looks extraordinary. It's probably some kind of tomb-suppressing divine artifact. God Ye, don't just draw it recklessly!"

Ye Bai naturally saw the comments and gave a light snort. "Don't worry, family, I know what I'm doing."

He reached out and gently brushed the scabbard. Just as his fingertips touched it—

A "buzzing" sound suddenly rose from all around, and the nine outer coffins began to vibrate as well, causing fine dust to fall in showers.

Fatty jumped in fright and shouted, "Oh no! The Corpses are coming back to life!"
