219: Strange things about the ceiling, anecdotes

"What's wrong?" Zhang Dada also felt uneasy.

Ye Bai stared at Yang Mi and said seriously, "Just now, when you wanted to open the door, I clearly held you back, but you broke free from my control. This indicates that this is an illusion..."

Hearing his words, Yang Mi felt a bit flustered, but she feigned calmness and said, "I'm fine! Look, aren't I standing right in front of you?"

"Is that so?" A hint of an interesting smile curled the corners of Ye Bai's mouth. "Let's play a game."

Yang Mi asked, bewildered, "What are you talking about? I didn't do anything at all; how can this be an illusion?"

Ye Bai looked up at the ceiling and suddenly said, "The ceiling is strange."

Everyone followed his gaze and looked up, only then noticing that a blood-red Bead was hanging from the ceiling. The color of the Bead was extremely vibrant and beautiful, yet it emitted a suffocating smell of blood that made one feel like vomiting.

Zhang Dada covered his mouth in shock and said with a tremble, "Is... is this not a Blood Tear?"

Yang Mi gasped, "Could it be... could it be..."

Zhang Dada's eyes were fixed on the Blood Tear. His pupils contracted violently as he muttered to himself, "It's actually still alive... I thought it had died long ago..."

The Blood Tear slowly drifted down and hit the ground, looking like a crystal-clear precious jade, shining with a bewitching red light.

Ye Bai said, "Don't waste any more time; let's quickly enter this treasure vault."

They rushed to the side of the Blood Tear and reached out their hands to grab it, but they couldn't shake it in the slightest. Ye Bai pulled hard, but it didn't move at all.

Zhang Dada tried to draw his Precious Sword to cut the Blood Tear, but instead, he injured his own arm.

Ye Bai said, "This is a magical weapon; it cannot be easily destroyed, or it will cause a backlash."

Yang Mi asked urgently, "Then what should we do?"

"Of course, defeat it and take it away!" Ye Bai pulled three silver coins from his pocket.

Zhang Dada asked in surprise, "What are these?"

"Three ancient copper coins, representing three chances. As long as you hit the same spot with the three silver coins, you can obtain the same power, and thus, the Seal of the Blood Tear can be broken."

The three of them looked at each other and extended their right hands. The three copper coins shot into mid-air and began to spin.

Yang Mi said, "I'll do it!" She extended her palm, and all three copper coins flew toward her palm. She closed her eyes, pressed her hands together, and chanted a spell. The three copper coins hovered in the air, motionless, as if caught in some state.

Yang Mi opened her eyes, a faint blue light gleaming in the depths of her pupils. She threw the copper coins toward the Blood Tear, and the coins passed through the Blood Tear, falling straight to the ground. Yang Mi was overjoyed; she quickly crouched down to carefully inspect the damage to the copper coins.

She quickly discovered that the surface of the copper coins was covered in cracks, as if they were shards of glass. Yang Mi sighed and said, "This attempt failed."

She looked at Ye Bai in frustration.

Ye Bai smiled slightly and said, "Don't be discouraged; I still have one last move."

After speaking, he pulled several pieces of parchment and several quill pens from his backpack.

He spread the parchment flat on the ground, dipped his pen in plenty of ink, and began to write.

Every time Ye Bai finished a stroke, he would draw the shape of a rose on it.

"What are you doing?" Yang Mi asked, puzzled.

"This is a Formation called 'Rose War Song.' I will add Souls of various attributes into this Formation. When we conquer this Blood Tear, we will summon the Rose King."

"Rose King?" Zhang Dada looked on with longing, "Has it grown up?"

Ye Bai smiled slightly and said, "I guarantee that it has already turned into a Blood Tear and is guarding the entire Yellow Springs, blocking anyone from the outside world from setting foot here!" After finishing, he handed the pen to Yang Mi and instructed, "Remember, you must place the Blood Tear in the correct position."

"Oh." Yang Mi took the pen and, following his instructions, placed three blood-red stones near the Blood Tear.

Yang Mi said, "I'm done."

"Good!" Ye Bai stood up and said, "Prepare for battle." He took the first step toward the Blood Tear.

Just as he was about to approach the Blood Tear, his face instantly vanished, replaced by a body formed from blood mist.

"Watch out!" Yang Mi shouted. Ye Bai sneered and said, "Mere child's play!"

With that, he punched toward the blood mist. A circle of blood mist was shattered, turning into a sky full of blood rain that splattered onto the walls and floor. Yang Mi screamed in fright and retreated several meters.

Ye Bai, however, was unaffected and continued to close in on the Blood Tear.

Suddenly, a huge suction force came, and Ye Bai was pulled away from his spot.

He turned his head and saw that the body formed from blood mist was already clinging to him.

Seeing that the situation was dire, Yang Mi quickly ran over and slashed at the blood mist with her Dagger, and the blood mist immediately turned into a mass of mist, merging back into the wall.

Yang Mi panted, wiping the sweat from her forehead, and said, "This guy is really powerful! It almost tricked us both badly!"

"Luckily, I had your warning!"

"Hmph, let's join forces and take this guy down."

Thus, Ye Bai and Yang Mi traveled together and continued walking forward. As they moved, Ye Bai observed the environment. This was a long Passage, with thick, cold rock walls on both sides, the ground covered in moss, and many luminous pearls embedded in the walls, illuminating the narrow Passage brightly.

Suddenly, a door appeared at the end of the Passage, but it was tightly shut. Ye Bai pushed the door and found it to be exceptionally heavy; it was estimated that it would take four or five strong men working together to pull it open. He slammed into it with force, but the door remained locked tight.

"This thing is way too hard!" Ye Bai frowned.

"Don't worry, we still have a way." Yang Mi took out a Dagger, bit her index finger, made a cut on it, squeezed out a drop of crimson blood, and smeared it on the door gap. She chanted in a low voice, "Rose War Song—Apocalypse!"

Just as she finished chanting the words "Apocalypse," the lock on the door clicked open. Yang Mi breathed a sigh of relief, patted her chest, and said with emotion, "This game is really exciting!"

Ye Bai smiled slightly and said, "Let's go."

The two continued to walk along the Passage.

As they walked, they saw more and more corpses. Almost all the corpses maintained the posture they had while alive—some lying on the ground, some sitting on chairs, some slumped over tables, or slumped over the edge of a coffin... Without exception, these people had all died extremely miserable deaths.

Finally, the two arrived at a spacious Tomb Chamber.

In the center of this Tomb Chamber stood a stone High Platform, on which lay a girl.

Her features were extremely delicate and beautiful; if one didn't know the truth, one would never imagine that she had been dead for thousands of years.
