269: The Five Elements theory actually has such wonderful uses.

"Ah—!" Suddenly, Meng Ziyi let out a startled cry.

"What's wrong?" Yang Mi hurriedly asked.

"Look over there." Meng Ziyi pointed to a corner. In that corner, a Skeleton was lying there!

The Skeleton was wearing a set of ancient clothing, with a peony pattern embroidered on the lapel of the chest. A braid was tied behind the skull's head.

"Whose Skeleton is that?" Yang Mi furrowed her brows.

"Look around," Ye Bai pointed at the wall, "Besides the Skeleton, there are actually many bloodstains left on the wall."

Everyone looked down to investigate. Upon looking, they were shocked to find mottled bright red marks on the wall, a total of seven or eight of them, shocking to behold.

"Heavens, there's blood everywhere on this wall. Just how many people did the master of this Immortal Cave kill?" Meng Ziyi said, covering her mouth.

"It seems a tragic slaughter once broke out here." Yang Mi narrowed her eyes. "We must be careful; perhaps some unknown dangers are hidden here."

Ye Bai scanned the group indifferently and then said, "I suggest you two stay close together, otherwise it will be easy to get attacked."

"This..." Yang Mi hesitated for a moment. "Okay." She pulled Meng Ziyi to her side and protected her.

"Then let's continue heading inside," Ye Bai said calmly.

Yang Mi and Meng Ziyi followed Ye Bai forward.

"There is light in this cave. Moreover, there's a hint of a cold, gloomy aura here." Ye Bai suddenly stopped in his tracks. He looked up; there was a streak of dazzling sunlight. But because the distance was too far, he couldn't be sure if it was sunlight or the light shining down after the sun had risen.

Ye Bai led everyone further in. At that moment, a gust of wind blew abruptly.

Ye Bai's eyebrows shot up, and he shouted, "Stop!"

Everyone hurriedly stopped and stared at him with suspicious faces.

"This wind... seems to be mixed with a thick scent of blood." Ye Bai frowned and said, "This wind is very sinister; don't touch it under any circumstances."

"Are you sure?" Yang Mi said, somewhat disbelieving.

Ye Bai said, "Positive!" He paused. "The Yin Qi here is very heavy, it has even formed Evil Qi. Furthermore, this Evil Qi is quite strange and cannot be dispelled. The only way is to avoid it."

"Oh?" Yang Mi's eyes flashed as she asked, "What method can avoid this Evil Qi?"

"Not telling you!" Ye Bai said with a chuckle.

"Hmph!" Yang Mi curled her lip. "Ignoring you."

Ye Bai smiled and stopped teasing her. "Let's go."

Yang Mi snorted and turned to follow Ye Bai's lead.

"Wait for me..." Meng Ziyi hurriedly chased after them.

The three continued forward.

During this journey, they encountered several more instances of yin winds and eerie black mist. These yin winds and energies were very powerful; even with Yang Mi's strength, she felt her whole body trembling.

Fortunately, Ye Bai was clearing the way in front, and this Yin Qi was basically blocked by him.

The further they went, the thicker the scent of blood became. This smell made Ye Bai somewhat uncomfortable.

Finally, the four stepped into the deepest part of the Passage.

"This place..." Meng Ziyi looked toward the left cave wall, only to see dense text carved onto this wall.

These characters were extremely complex, like tadpoles, every stroke revealing a sense of mystery.

"Is this... the 'Five Elements Technique'?" Yang Mi murmured.

"Yes, exactly." Ye Bai nodded and said, "These are the 'Five Elements Technique', but only a small portion of these characters matches the history we are familiar with; the rest are things we simply cannot identify."

Yang Mi looked through them, shook her head, and said, "That's not right... I remember the text of the 'Five Elements Technique' should be written in Clerical Script. And this clerical style is quite special, completely different from the Clerical Script of the Han People."

"You guessed right." Ye Bai shrugged and said, "That's why I judged that the history here must have existed for a long time, and one can even deduce that the master of this Immortal Cave was a figure from the late Tang or early Song dynasties."

Hearing Ye Bai's explanation, Yang Mi came to a sudden realization and said, "So that's how it is!"

Meng Ziyi curiously leaned in, carefully examining those characters, and said, "These characters are truly profound; I can't understand them, I just can't."

"Don't worry, one day, you will be able to understand them." Ye Bai smiled, then picked up the flashlight and began searching the wall.

"Eh?" Yang Mi suddenly let out a soft cry of surprise. "There's another word here." She pointed to a vacant area of the wall and said, "How could this word appear here? Could the master of this Tomb be related to this word?"

"That's not a word," Ye Bai said, "it's Ghostly Talismans."

"Ghostly Talismans?" Everyone was stunned.

"Yes, Ghostly Talismans." Ye Bai said, "In my estimation, this should be some kind of Curse."

"Ah!" The women exclaimed, their faces turning pale with fright.

"How could this kind of thing be here?" Meng Ziyi couldn't help but complain. "If I had known, I would have given the flashlight to you earlier."

"You are a teammate." Ye Bai said indifferently. "Giving this kind of thing to me would actually be unsafe."

Meng Ziyi pouted and said, "Then what should we do? We can't just leave such an unlucky thing behind."

Ye Bai thought for a moment and said, "In that case, let me destroy it."

As he spoke, he took out several pieces of yellow paper from his pocket, folded them a few times quickly, and then threw them onto the wall.

Swoosh!

After those pieces of yellow paper drifted for a few seconds, they suddenly burst, turning into several sparks that fell toward the Ghostly Talismans on the wall.

Chila—

The sparks hit the Ghostly Talismans, instantly creating a violent chemical reaction. Bursts of black smoke rose, and the temperature of the entire Stone Chamber rose sharply. Moreover, this heatwave rushed straight at everyone's chests.

"So hot." Everyone couldn't help but cry out, one after another using their internal energy to resist.

"Everyone, retreat first," Ye Bai said.

"Retreat to where?" Yang Mi asked. They were already lost; if they went out blindly, they would likely get lost in the dark mountain forest.

"Don't worry, I have my own plan," Ye Bai said calmly.

Hearing this, everyone walked outside. Although they didn't know what Ye Bai was planning to do, they believed he must have his way.

Ye Bai stood inside the cave, his eyes slightly closed. Then his hands quickly formed seals, performing a series of ancient and profound gestures. Along with the completion of these gestures, clouds of azure mist emerged out of thin air.

The azure mist slowly condensed and then gathered together, gradually forming two lotus flowers.

The lotus flowers were azure, crystal clear, and emitted a faint fragrance.

"Go," Ye Bai shouted in a low voice.

The azure lotus flowers flew through the air toward the Ghostly Talismans.
