338: Can people fly to the sky and dive into the sea? Are they even normal people?

Ye Bai stared at the characters, his brow furrowed, as he tried to decipher their meaning.

Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi waited anxiously by his side, occasionally looking back at the Rune Wall; the impact of the Dark Shadows was causing the runes' light to grow increasingly dim.

"Ye Bai, have you figured anything out? Can this Stone Door be opened?" Meng Ziyi asked nervously.

Ye Bai didn't answer, his gaze still locked onto the characters on the Stone Door. Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, he reached out and pressed down on a pattern on the Stone Door. The Stone Door let out a low rumble and slowly opened a crack.

"Quick, let's go!" Ye Bai shouted, pulling Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi as they rushed through the Stone Door.

As soon as they entered, the Stone Door slammed shut behind them. The Dark Shadows were cut off outside, and the pressure from the Rune Wall instantly vanished.

"Phew, we're finally safe," Yang Mi said with a sigh of relief.

"Not yet. We still don't know where we are," Ye Bai said, looking around warily.

The three of them walked toward the High Platform on the Grassland. Along the way, Meng Ziyi looked around curiously. "It's so beautiful here. If it weren't for the current situation, I'd really want to take it all in."

"Don't let your guard down. Places like this often hide even greater dangers," Ye Bai said.

When they reached the High Platform, they found that the images on those giant Stone Steles were even clearer.

Ye Bai observed closely and found that these images seemed to be telling an ancient story about a mysterious sacrifice and a powerful force.

"These Stone Steles seem to be guiding us toward something," Ye Bai murmured to himself.

"Guiding us? What do you mean?" Meng Ziyi asked.

"I'm not sure yet, but we have to follow these clues," Ye Bai said.

Just then, a wind suddenly picked up on the Grassland, and there seemed to be strange sounds mixed in with it.

"Did you guys hear something?" Yang Mi hugged her arms in fear.

"There seems to be a sound. Everyone, be careful," Ye Bai said, clenching his fists.

The wind grew stronger, making the trees on the Grassland rustle. The gale swirled with flying sand, enveloping the entire Grassland and blurring their vision.

"Ye Bai... did you hear anything?" Yang Mi's voice was trembling.

"Yes," Ye Bai nodded.

"What kind of sound?" Yang Mi pressed.

"A woman's voice," Ye Bai said calmly.

"W-what?" Yang Mi's eyes widened in terror.

"Ye Bai, I think this is very suspicious. Maybe... we should leave this place first," Meng Ziyi suggested.

"Why?" Yang Mi asked back.

"Have you forgotten? We've been in this hellhole for two days! In another two days, we'll all die here!"

Meng Ziyi's words reminded Ye Bai that they had indeed stayed in this space for too long.

Whether they were willing to accept it or not, time was running out. He had to find a way to leave as soon as possible.

"In that case, we can only take a risk."

With that, Ye Bai grabbed his backpack straps and led Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi as they climbed up the nearest Stone Stele and jumped down from the High Platform.

After landing, they steadied themselves and looked around, but they didn't see the Black Mist.

Had they left?

Ye Bai wondered, then turned and ran toward the edge of the High Platform.

He circled the High Platform a few times but found nothing.

"What's going on? Where did they go?" Ye Bai was puzzled.

"Ye Bai, it looks like they went over there!" Yang Mi shouted.

Hearing this, Ye Bai quickly looked in the direction she was pointing. Sure enough, he saw the Black Mist lingering on one side of the High Platform.

And at the top of the High Platform, there seemed to be a ball of light.

"How did this mist form?" Ye Bai was very confused.

"Ye Bai, let's go over. Maybe there's an opportunity there," Meng Ziyi said excitedly.

Yang Mi nodded in agreement. "Mm-hmm, I agree too."

Without much further thought, Ye Bai led them toward the top of the High Platform.

The three of them reached the edge of the High Platform and looked down; the mist had already drifted to the other side of the platform, seemingly searching for something.

"Eh? Why is there a hole here?" Ye Bai noticed a hole on the left side of the High Platform, about five meters in diameter.

"Stay back, it's dangerous here."

Meng Ziyi nodded and stepped back with Yang Mi, holding up her flashlight to illuminate Ye Bai's position.

Ye Bai took a deep breath and leaped down. After landing, he stepped on several protruding stone slabs in succession, using the rebounding force to rush toward the hole.

When he reached the vicinity of the entrance, the Black Mist actually surged toward him all at once.

Ye Bai sneered and waved his hand, shooting dozens of Ice Needles into the Black Mist.

The Ice Needles pierced through the mist, but something strange happened—the Ice Needles actually dissipated.

Ye Bai frowned. "What on earth is going on?"

"Ye Bai, there seems to be something inside this hole!" Yang Mi shouted from the entrance.

Ye Bai narrowed his eyes and stared into the hole for a while before cautiously crawling inside.

"Ye Bai! Be careful!" Yang Mi shouted worriedly.

It was pitch black inside the hole, so dark that he couldn't see his own hand in front of his face.

Ye Bai felt along the walls as he made his way deeper into the hole.

Suddenly, a low shout reached his ears: "Who's there?"

He immediately drew his Dagger and looked toward the source of the sound, on guard.

A withered corpse lay in the corner, covered in dust. Its eyes were tightly shut and its mouth was slightly open, as if it had been about to call out to someone.

Ye Bai hesitated for a second before walking toward the corpse.

The corpse's skin had long since rotted away, and even the bones were visible.

A red string was tied around the corpse's neck, with a copper coin hanging from it.

Ye Bai picked up the copper coin and wiped the dust off it with his hand.

The copper coin was circular, its surface carved with many complex patterns.

Suddenly, the copper coin emitted a faint golden halo.

"What's happening?" Ye Bai was stunned for a moment before realizing it was a Magical Artifact.

He quickly put away the Magical Artifact and walked deeper into the Cave.

The walls of the Cave were covered in moss, making them slippery underfoot and giving the place an eerie, terrifying feel.

After walking for a while, Ye Bai suddenly saw a faint yellow fluorescence ahead.

He picked up his pace and finally reached the fluorescence, finding a staircase leading underground. A lamp sat beside the stairs, its dim candlelight flickering as if it might go out at any moment.

Holding the flashlight, Ye Bai slowly walked down the steps.

He discovered that this Stone Chamber was filled with coffins. An incense burner sat before each coffin, burning Sandalwood.

In addition, he saw several green Beads in the gaps between the coffins. This surprised him.

These coffins were certainly ancient, yet they were still perfectly preserved, which was truly rare.

He held the Candle over the Candlestick to illuminate the coffins and found that although they were heavily eroded by time, their surfaces were still relatively hard.
