240: The magnetic fields of bronze tripods and jade pendants are mutually reinforcing and mutually restraining.

A Map of Mountains and Rivers, and an Ancient Sword.

An Inkstone and a Brush Holder, as well as a Scroll.

“This Map of Mountains and Rivers should be a map of the location of the First Emperor of Qin's tomb, right?” Ye Bai said. “As for that Ancient Sword, I can't say for sure.”

“Let's hurry and open the Scroll to take a look.” Yang Mi urged. “There are so many good things here; there must be some sort of order to them.”

Meng Ziyi nodded. She reached out her hand, and just as she was about to touch the Scroll, a sudden change occurred!

The floor in front of them suddenly caved in, revealing a pitch-black pit.

Yang Mi was startled.

Meng Ziyi's reaction was extremely swift; she picked up Ye Bai and Yang Mi and rushed rapidly toward the dark tunnel.

Just as they ran into the Passage, several steel nails pierced through the stone walls and embedded themselves deeply into the soil layer.

“Oh my god, that scared me to death.” Yang Mi patted her chest and let out a long sigh of relief. “Fortunately, Ziyi reacted quickly. Otherwise, the two of us might have been crushed to death.”

“What is this?” Ye Bai asked.

“Steel nails.” Yang Mi said. “Are you stupid?”

Ye Bai remained silent.

The bloody smell he had smelled earlier was precisely coming from these steel nails.

These steel nails were poisonous!

“I told you earlier that this place isn't clean.” Yang Mi sighed. “We have to hurry and leave.”

“But how do we leave?” Meng Ziyi looked worried. “We have no way of digging out.”

Yang Mi shook her head and said, “Don't forget, we also brought the big stuff!” She pointed at the backpack.

Meng Ziyi suddenly realized.

She took out the backpack full of C4 Explosives that Ye Bai had just given her and bundled the explosives into a rope. Yang Mi held the flashlight to help provide light.

“You go out first and find a safe position,” Meng Ziyi said. “I'll follow right after.”

“Be careful,” Yang Mi urged. “Don't let your guard down.”

“I know, hurry up and go,” Meng Ziyi urged.

Yang Mi started to walk out, but Ye Bai pulled her back.

“What are you doing? We still need to find a safe place,” Yang Mi said, puzzled.

Ye Bai shook his head. “You go out first. I'm afraid those steel nails will hurt you.”

“Oh, listen to you. I'm not a porcelain doll. I'm thick-skinned and tough. Besides, I know some defensive techniques; I can protect myself well enough,” Yang Mi said dismissively.

She shook off Ye Bai's arm and walked out.

Ye Bai didn't insist further and quietly waited in place.

After Yang Mi left, silence returned to the Passage. Ye Bai strained his ears to listen but didn't hear any footsteps.

Meng Ziyi hadn't come over yet.

Ye Bai slowly moved toward the wall. He used the light from the powerful flashlight to investigate the surroundings.

This was a space similar to a main hall. Aside from that bronze ding, everywhere else was empty.

Ye Bai tried to move the bronze ding, but the Large Tripod Cauldron merely wobbled and couldn't be lifted. Ye Bai gave it a hard tug and found it wouldn't budge an inch.

He observed the bronze ding closely again and discovered that the bottom of the tripod was covered in strange runes, which seemed to be inscriptions.

“Could it be that the runes need to be destroyed?” Ye Bai frowned and thought to himself.

He pulled a jade pendant from his pocket and gave it a forceful squeeze.

Crack, it shattered into two halves.

The runes on the jade pendant instantly vanished without a trace.

“It really works!” Ye Bai was delighted.

He discarded the shattered jade pendant and then used the remaining half to press against the bottom of the bronze ding.

“Rumble!”

A muffled sound rang out.

The bronze ding slowly rose.

“Haha...” Ye Bai laughed. “This thing really clashes with my horoscope. It seems my fate is very tough; no one can take me down!”

“Bang!”

Just as Ye Bai finished speaking, the entire bronze ding trembled violently, nearly falling to the ground and almost knocking Ye Bai over.

“Damn!” Ye Bai cursed, steadying himself. “This thing is quite heavy.”

He gripped the lid of the tripod with both hands.

With a “crash,” the Large Tripod Cauldron was completely lifted.

“Whew—” Meng Ziyi breathed a long sigh of relief as she rushed in from outside. “Scared me to death. Good thing you're clever.”

Ye Bai handed her the bronze ding.

He saw the situation inside the tripod clearly.

The tripod was empty; except for a terracotta figurine, there was nothing at all.

Moreover, that terracotta figurine had already decayed, its surface covered in cobwebs.

“There's nothing else here, right?” Yang Mi asked.

“No.” Meng Ziyi shook her head.

“I felt that bronze ding had an issue,” Ye Bai said. “Now it's proven that it really was just a fake.”

“Let's go.” Meng Ziyi set Ye Bai down and then put away the Large Tripod Cauldron.

The three of them returned along the original path.

After walking about twenty meters, the Passage disappeared, revealing a spacious hall.

The hall was filled with many pieces of wooden furniture and some calligraphies and paintings hanging on the walls, showing their great age.

“Eh?” Ye Bai stopped in his tracks, his eyes narrowing slightly.

He saw that Great Bow.

Ye Bai immediately walked over, crouched down, picked up the Great Bow, and examined it carefully.

The Great Bow was black all over, and Arrows were hanging on the bowstring, shimmering with a faint blue light.

This Arrow was unique; it was cast from some kind of metal, flashing with a silver-white light, sharp and cold, as if it could pierce the heavens.

“Could it be an Antique?” Yang Mi approached, staring at the Arrow and clicking her tongue in praise.

“It should be an Antique,” Ye Bai muttered to himself. “This bow is definitely much more valuable than that bronze ding.”

“Mm.” Yang Mi said. “It looks like it's from the Tang Dynasty.”

Ye Bai nodded. “This is an ancient Tang Crossbow. Its range is a full four hundred meters! It was the sharpest weapon on ancient battlefields.”

“That powerful?” Yang Mi was surprised. “This thing must be worth a lot of money.”

“It's definitely valuable,” Ye Bai nodded. “But this bow is too dangerous; it's better to destroy it.”

He stood up and reached out both hands to grab the ancient bow.

The ancient and heavy bowstring made Ye Bai feel a surge of majestic power. This power was extremely fierce and overbearing, as if it could tear the world apart.

“Bang—”

A sudden, massive tremor caught Ye Bai off guard. His hands were bounced away, and the webs between his thumbs and index fingers were bleeding. His wrist was fractured.

Ye Bai cried out in pain and slumped to the ground. He clutched his arms as sharp pain pierced his heart.

“What's going on?” Ye Bai was horrified.

“Buzz!” That ancient bow actually rose into the air, suspended in the center of the hall.

This eerie scene frightened Yang Mi and Meng Ziyi, their eyes widening in shock.

“What... what's happening?” Yang Mi screamed.

“Oh no!” Meng Ziyi's face turned pale, and she turned to run.

The ancient bow suddenly erupted with dazzling light.

This light enveloped the entire room, turning it into a cluster of brilliant stars.

The radiance flowed like water ripples, filling the entire space.

Ye Bai and Meng Ziyi were both covered by this light. They couldn't open their eyes.

By the time they regained their vision, they had arrived in a different environment.

Ye Bai and Meng Ziyi were on a narrow Stone Steps. The staircase went straight up, reaching a height of seven or eight meters. luminous pearls were embedded in the walls on both sides.

The luminous pearls emitted a soft and warm glow.

At the end of the Stone Steps was an iron door.
