201: Underground river passages: the easier they seem, the more suspicious they appear.

After a while, Zhang Dada slowly opened his eyes, which were filled with terror.

"God Ye, I... I saw a black shadow, it was terrifying," Zhang Dada said, trembling.

Ye Bai stood up and looked inside the coffin, only to find that the Skeleton had disappeared at some unknown point. His heart tightened, and he whispered, "Things are getting more and more suspicious."

Yang Mi also looked at the coffin and grabbed Ye Bai's arm in horror, "Ye Bai, why is the Skeleton gone? Is there a ghost?"

Ye Bai said coldly, "Don't scare yourself. There must be some mechanism or secret Passage here that we haven't discovered."

He began carefully inspecting the area around the coffin and found that a wooden board at the bottom of the coffin seemed loose. He pressed down hard, and the board suddenly sprang open, revealing a pitch-black hole.

"There might be clues below," Ye Bai said.

Zhang Dada quickly waved his hand, "I'm not going. It's definitely more dangerous down there."

Ye Bai glanced at him. "Wait here, and if there's danger, run quickly." After speaking, he was the first to jump into the hole. Yang Mi hesitated for a moment, then followed him down.

Below was a narrow Passage. Ye Bai took a flashlight out of his Backpack and illuminated the path ahead. The Passage was filled with a damp smell, and the walls were covered with unknown insects.

Yang Mi couldn't help but move closer to Ye Bai, "Ye Bai, I'm a little scared of these insects."

Ye Bai didn't speak, he just continued walking forward. As they walked, they heard the sound of gurgling water.

"There might be water ahead," Ye Bai said.

When they approached, they found it was an Underground River. The river water gave off a pungent smell and was somewhat murky in color.

"This water doesn't look drinkable," Yang Mi said.

Ye Bai was about to check if there was a way to cross the river when he suddenly heard Zhang Dada's shout from behind. They looked back and saw Zhang Dada had jumped down as well, landing right on a pile of insects, which scared him into flailing his arms and legs.

"Zhang Dada, why did you come down?" Yang Mi asked.

"I was even more scared being alone up there, so I might as well follow you," Zhang Dada said with a mournful expression.

Ye Bai shook his head helplessly and began looking for a way to cross the river. He walked along the riverbank for a distance and found several stones protruding from the water, which could be used as stepping stones to cross.

"We'll cross here," Ye Bai said.

He carefully stepped on the stones to cross the river, with Yang Mi and Zhang Dada following behind. Due to his fear, Zhang Dada's steps were unsteady, and he nearly fell into the river. Ye Bai reached out, grabbed him, and pulled him to the opposite bank.

After crossing the river, they continued forward. A fork appeared ahead, with two Passages leading in different directions.

"We have to choose which path to take again," Yang Mi said.

Ye Bai squatted down to examine the ground and found some footprints on the floor of the left Passage. They looked like human footprints, yet they were strange.

"Let's check the left side first," Ye Bai said.

They entered the left Passage, which was filled with a faint mist. As they walked, they saw a door ahead, inscribed with strange symbols.

Zhang Dada curiously reached out to touch the door, but Ye Bai immediately stopped him, "Don't mess with it. Let's assess the situation first."

He carefully studied the symbols on the door, trying to find a way to open it. Suddenly, he noticed that the arrangement of the symbols seemed somewhat similar to the patterns on the copper coin he had seen earlier. He took out the copper coin and compared it to the symbols on the door.

"Perhaps this copper coin can open this door," Ye Bai said.

He placed the copper coin in a groove on the door, and the door slowly opened as expected. A stale smell rushed out. Inside was a room piled high with various gold and silver treasures.

When Zhang Dada saw the treasures, his eyes lit up, "Wow, so many treasures! We've struck it rich!"

Yang Mi was not so excited. She worriedly said, "Ye Bai, is there any danger here? These treasures look too easy to obtain."

Ye Bai didn't speak. He walked into the room, carefully observing the surroundings. Suddenly, he heard the sound of a mechanism being activated.

"Oh no, a mechanism!" Ye Bai shouted.

They quickly ran back, but the door closed behind them. Arrows began shooting out inside the room. Ye Bai pulled Yang Mi and Zhang Dada behind a pile of treasures for cover.

"What do we do? God Ye, we can't get out," Zhang Dada said despairingly.

Ye Bai calmly thought about countermeasures. He noticed that the arrows were shooting out from small holes in the walls. He observed the firing pattern of the arrows and realized there was a brief pause after every interval.

"When the arrows stop next, we'll rush toward the door," Ye Bai said.

When the arrows paused, Ye Bai quickly rushed toward the doorway with Yang Mi and Zhang Dada. He slammed against the door with all his strength, but it didn't budge.

Just then, Zhang Dada spotted a Mechanism Button on the floor. Without thinking, he pressed it. Suddenly, the arrows in the room stopped firing, and the door slowly opened.

"Zhang Dada, you were too reckless," Yang Mi scolded.

"I... I just wanted to see if I could open the door," Zhang Dada said, lowering his head.

Ye Bai walked out of the room and continued along the Passage. They arrived at a Hall, where there was a Statue. The Statue looked extremely ferocious, and its eyes seemed to flicker with red light.

Zhang Dada said fearfully, "This Statue looks so terrifying."

Ye Bai approached the Statue and found some words carved on its base. He carefully deciphered the words and realized they were secrets about this Ancient Tomb.

"This Ancient Tomb seems to be a Place of Sacrifice, and we might have triggered some taboos," Ye Bai said.

Yang Mi nervously asked, "What should we do then? Is there going to be some kind of curse?"

Ye Bai didn't answer. He continued studying the Statue. Suddenly, the Statue moved, swinging its arms to attack them.

Ye Bai quickly dodged the Statue's attack. He took a Sword out of his Backpack and confronted the Statue.

"You two find a place to hide first," Ye Bai said.

Yang Mi and Zhang Dada hid behind a pillar, nervously watching Ye Bai fight the Statue.

Ye Bai flexibly dodged the Statue's attacks while looking for its weakness.

After a fierce battle, Ye Bai discovered a Switch on the Statue's back. Taking advantage of a gap in the Statue's attack, he jumped onto its back and pressed the Switch. The Statue instantly ceased movement.

"It's finally resolved," Ye Bai sighed in relief.

He stepped down, preparing to leave the Hall. Just then, he felt the ground tremble. He turned his head and saw that the Statue had completed its Transformation and was standing up. Its eyes were wide with fury, and it pounded its chest with clenched fists. A beast-like roar came from its mouth.

"Holy crap, it got resurrected," Ye Bai was utterly surprised.
