351: The song "Empty Valley Echoes" didn't say ghouls were that tough.

His voice echoed within the Tomb, receiving no answer.

"Xiao Die?" He shouted again.

Still, there was no response.

"Could this be an Illusionary Realm? No, that's not right. I remember seeing a scene like this in Grave Robber's Notes."

Ye Bai thought to himself.

This state of affairs was too bizarre. He even had the illusion that he had entered another dimension.

Just as Ye Bai was pondering, he suddenly saw the eyes of the Corpse inside the coffin open.

They were a pair of emerald-green eyes, filled with violence and ferocity.

"Roar!"

The Corpse suddenly let out a great roar, shaking the entire Tomb Chamber.

With a loud bang, the outer coffin instantly exploded, shattering into fragments that flew out and slammed against the walls.

The Corpse from the outer coffin crawled up. Its body was enormous, fully over three meters tall, with bulging muscles all over, radiating a powerful and terrifying aura.

Especially on its chest, there was a hideous and terrifying scar, as if it had been cut by some sharp blade; it was shocking to behold!

Its arms were extremely thick, like two large Pythons, and its five fingers were like steel hooks, emitting a sharp, cold glint.

At this moment, its gaze was locked onto Ye Bai and Meng Ziyi, with scarlet blood flowing from its eyes.

"Is this... a Corpse?"

The friends in the Live Stream Room were too scared to know what to say.

"Holy crap! It really is a Corpse, and it's the legendary Ghoul! We're in trouble now!"

"Ye Bai, what the hell are you still standing there for? Run away quickly!"

"Damn! This thing can actually still move!"

"Such a massive Corpse, who could possibly kill it?"

Ye Bai frowned deeply. Although he had long suspected that this Corpse might not be simple, he hadn't expected it to be a Ghoul!

Ghouls do not belong to the category of zombies because they are artificial creatures, but their combat power is even more terrifying than zombies.

"I advise you to give up resistance!" Ye Bai warned the Ghoul.

"Awoo~~~"

However, the Ghoul didn't react at all; it just roared at the sky and then suddenly rushed over.

Its speed was extremely fast, and in the blink of an eye, it was in front of Ye Bai.

Ye Bai hurriedly threw a punch, colliding with the Ghoul's fist.

Boom!

This punch was infinitely powerful, shaking the entire mountain a few times. Ye Bai stumbled backward, his feet stamping many pits into the ground, with blood seeping out of each pit.

The Ghoul only retreated half a step. It lowered its head to look at Ye Bai, making strange gurgling noises in its throat.

"Damn! It's actually fine! This is just too perverted!" Ye Bai was shocked to the core.

This Ghoul was completely different from the zombies in movies.

The zombies in movies are pitch black, with wrinkled skin, covered in scales, and their eyes are all red.

But this Ghoul was naked, with bulging muscles. Besides that, its legs were a grayish-blue color, as if they had been corroded by something.

The most eye-catching part was the scar on its chest. The cut was very deep, almost slashing through its entire chest cavity, with fresh blood flowing out and soaking its clothes.

This scar was clearly left by human hands, and it was extremely terrifying.

"It couldn't be faked. Many people have died here, so its Corpse was tainted with resentment. Over time, the Corpse Poison attacked its heart, forming the Ghoul!"

The System's prompt sounded in Ye Bai's ear.

"Why didn't you warn me sooner? You made me take that punch for nothing!" Ye Bai complained.

"It wouldn't have been useful to warn you at that time; you still would have been beaten anyway," the System said.

Ye Bai: ...

He couldn't be bothered to pay attention to it. He suddenly missed the System that only prompted attributes.

This System was too chatty!

However, on the surface, Ye Bai still maintained a detached and cool demeanor.

After stabilizing his stance, Ye Bai quickly pulled a Talismanic Incantation from his waist, chanting words under his breath. The Talismanic Incantation instantly ignited, turning into a stream of fire that shot toward the Ghoul.

The Ghoul didn't dodge or evade. When the flames touched its body, it only paused for a moment before continuing to pounce at Ye Bai.

"Even this Talismanic Incantation doesn't work? What do we do, Great God Ye!" The viewers in the Live Stream Room were burning with anxiety.

"This Ghoul is too powerful; I feel like Great God Ye is going to fall this time."

"Mi Mi is still unconscious. If Great God Ye can't handle it either, they will all die here."

While dodging the Ghoul's attacks, Ye Bai shouted: "Meng Ziyi, take Mi Mi and find a safe place to hide first. I'll hold it off."

Meng Ziyi, however, acted as if she hadn't heard, standing motionless in place.

Her eyes were empty as she looked at the Ghoul, and that weird smile still hung on the corners of her mouth.

"Meng Ziyi? What's wrong with you?"

Ye Bai noticed the abnormality, and a bad premonition welled up in his heart.

At this moment, a viewer in the Live Stream Room sent a bullet comment saying: "I heard that people whose minds are bewitched by evil things in the Ancient Tomb will become their Puppets. Could Meng Ziyi have been controlled?"

"No way? That would be terrible!"

Ye Bai felt a shiver in his heart; he knew the situation was becoming increasingly tricky.

He took a small bottle out of his bag filled with glutinous rice; this was a common item used by folk to ward off evil.

He threw a handful of glutinous rice at Meng Ziyi, hoping to awaken her. When the glutinous rice landed on Meng Ziyi, she let out a painful scream, and her body began to tremble violently.

"Ah! It hurts!" Meng Ziyi clutched her head, her expression pained.

"Wake up! Don't let it control you," Ye Bai shouted.

After a while, Meng Ziyi seemed to regain some of her senses. She looked at Ye Bai in confusion: "I... what just happened to me?"

"There's no time to explain. Take Mi Mi and go quickly; leave this to me," Ye Bai said.

Meng Ziyi looked at the fierce Ghoul and nodded.

She ran to Yang Mi's side, struggled to help Yang Mi up, and ran toward a corner of the Tomb Chamber.

Ye Bai faced the Ghoul again; he knew he couldn't keep taking hits passively like this.

He remembered that although Ghouls were powerful, they had one fatal weakness: they were afraid of sunlight.

But this was in an Ancient Tomb; where would sunlight come from?

Ye Bai's eyes flashed; he saw some glowing gemstones embedded in the walls of the Tomb Chamber, and these gemstones emitted a soft light.

"Maybe I can try to use these gemstones to simulate sunlight," Ye Bai thought.

He rushed toward the wall, with the Ghoul in hot pursuit.

Ye Bai nimbly dodged the Ghoul's attacks while reaching out to dig the gemstones out of the wall.

When he dug out a gemstone, he discovered that it emitted an even stronger light in his hand, and this light seemed to have a certain deterrent effect on the Ghoul.

The Ghoul stopped, covering its eyes with its arms and letting out bursts of angry roars.

"It's working!" Ye Bai felt a surge of joy.

He continued to dig for gemstones, and before long, he had several glowing gemstones in his hand.

He threw the gemstones toward the Ghoul. The light emitted by the gemstones intertwined, forming something like a net of light that enveloped the Ghoul.
