74: Cruel bronze statue
"I'm scared too! The color of these walls is just like blood; I actually thought they were walls drenched in blood!!"
Upon seeing the walls for the first time, the audience was left with nothing but fear; there was no excitement left.
Their hearts began to pound, and this was just the entrance—to see such an 'auspicious start' right away.
The Cameraman was actually terrified too; his hands holding the equipment couldn't stop shaking.
...
Ye Bai led the group deeper inside. The walls began to change, shifting from smooth surfaces to uneven, textured ones.
Human-shaped Sculptures were embedded into the walls, the whole surface gleaming with a greenish hue.
They looked as if they were forged from bronze.
These bronze sculptures were bound with ropes; their hands and feet were tied, and there were wounds on the heads of the Statues.
The gashes were enormous, stretching from the top of their heads down to their faces, as if their entire faces had been split open, stained with a scarlet color.
Yet, this scarlet color was clearly very eerie.
Another Statue was bound and severed in half at the waist; deep red blood and intestines were exposed, looking truly horrifying.
But the most bizarre thing was that the faces of those people seemed to wear eerie smiles.
Some Sculptures were covered in knife wounds from head to toe, each wound the exact same size, surrounded by red blood. One could tell from the surroundings of these Sculptures that these people had bled to death...
The Statues on both sides of the walls were shocking and terrifying, and the sculpted red blood directly assaulted their eyes.
"Ah... this... what is this?"
Cai Xukun was the first to see the Statues on the wall. Upon seeing them, his face instantly turned pale with fright.
He even kept his distance from the Sculptures on the wall, fearing that the red 'bloodstains' on them might touch him.
Hua Chenyu, Zhang Dada, and Huang Zitao huddled together, staring at the walls with fearful eyes.
"Should we just leave? It's so terrifying in here!"
"Will something happen if we keep going inside?"
Hua Chenyu and Zhang Dada hurriedly looked at Wu Jing and Ye Bai, wanting to leave this place immediately.
Yang Mi, Reba, and Meng Ziyi were also very scared when they saw this scene.
They didn't even dare to look directly at the Sculptures on the wall.
These weren't just Sculptures; this was a large-scale execution site.
"Why were these Statues carved like this?"
"What is this trying to say? Is it trying to show that the owner of this Tomb was very cruel?"
Yang Mi gasped, taking a long moment to take a deep breath to suppress the fear in her heart, before asking Ye Bai suspiciously.
Ye Bai didn't speak and kept walking forward, as if he hadn't seen the Sculptures on the wall at all.
The audience in the Live Stream Room was shocked by this scene at that moment.
"No way! What is this thing? A Statue is a Statue, why make it look like this? Are they sick!!"
"Damn! You scared the hell out of me!! What is the purpose of doing this?"
"Could it be that these aren't Statues, but real people who were actually made to look like this?"
"Holy crap! Stop saying that, you f*cking scared me to death!! 1"
"I'm a bit afraid to watch now. I wanted to watch an adventure, not a horror movie. Seeing this bloody wall is going to give me nightmares."
"I think my Kun Kun is right, we should leave immediately. If something happens later, we'll really be crying our eyes out."
The audience was most worried about their safety now.
The Archaeological Team had previously said that this place was dangerous, and looking at it now, it was exactly as they said.
It was still time to turn back now!
Inside the Tomb.
"Ye Bai! Should we go back? This place is really terrifying!!"
Reba gripped Ye Bai's clothes tighter, her voice trembling.
Ye Bai ignored her and continued walking forward.
After passing through the Statue wall, they saw a Mural appear on the wall.
It depicted many people.
Yang Mi and Wu Jing also saw the Mural on the wall.
They saw a scene on the Mural with many people riding horses, carrying bundles, and pushing wooden-wheeled carts behind a large group.
Behind them, there was a group of people riding horses and holding swords, chasing them.
These people must be the people of the Yelang Kingdom; they were being hunted down...
No!
It wasn't just a pursuit; it was a migration.
When Yang Mi saw this scene, she couldn't help but think of what her ancestors had said: this country had a very short history, and there was even no reason to prove the existence of this Yelang Kingdom...
But looking at it now, the proof of the Yelang Kingdom's existence was right here.
"Let's look further ahead."
Yang Mi was interested now.
The next Mural scene showed those people wearing various ethnic costumes arriving at a place to settle down; they lived here temporarily, very peacefully.
And the next painting showed them being chased again, leading people to migrate.
The place they migrated to this time was where they were currently located—the Forbidden Ground...
"This is a southward migration... Was the reason for their southward migration because they were being hunted? Is that why they migrated twice and finally settled in this Forbidden Ground to establish the Yelang Kingdom?"
Yang Mi was greatly shocked after seeing this scene.
She didn't expect that the reason for their southward migration was because they were being hunted?
Hunted by whom?
Why were they being hunted?
Yang Mi couldn't quite figure it out.
"Sister Mi, look at this Mural."
Reba suddenly spoke up.
Yang Mi and Ye Bai came to the Mural behind them.
They saw a man from the Yelang Kingdom wearing fine clothing, and in front of him was a woman wearing special attire and a tall hat. Her face was covered by a string of beads, and she was holding a scepter.
After the two stood face to face, they didn't know what was being said.
"Who is this woman? Although the commoners behind the Yelang Kingdom people earlier were all wearing ethnic clothing, this is the first time I've seen this attire. Who is she?"
Wu Jing frowned; he carefully recalled the Mural he had just seen.
It seemed he hadn't seen this style of clothing.
"The High Priestess!"
Ye Bai spoke up suddenly, and he continued to the next Mural.
On the Mural, they saw many craftsmen building the Tomb and creating a Sacrificial Altar at the entrance.
This Sacrificial Altar was the one with the Statue on the Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams they had seen before.
And the last Mural wasn't a picture, but a string of text.
But they couldn't understand this text.
It was dense like ants, and they couldn't understand what it was at all.
When Yang Mi saw this text, her brows furrowed again. Although her ancestors were Archaeologists, she wasn't!
She couldn't understand this text either.
"Yang Mi, can you tell what this says?"
Wu Jing and the others also saw this text, but they really didn't recognize it.
"I don't recognize it!"
Yang Mi shook her head.
Wu Jing and Reba couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed when they saw this text.
