239: All-around expert Ye Ge, you can even detoxify!

Ye Bai said, "Since I'm already here, I'm not afraid of any evil spirits."

"Haha, young man, your courage pleases me. However, the horrors of the underworld surpass your imagination. Let's change the subject. Do you know why these things are placed here?"

"Because those are the rules of the Tomb."

Ye Bai replied, "No Tomb owner wants the news of their death to spread after they pass, lest they attract the greed of others."

"You're right." Chen Fu sighed. "But there is one exception here."

"Oh?" Ye Bai showed a look of surprise. "Is there something else special?"

Chen Fu said slowly, "Back then, the First Emperor of Qin personally entered the Tomb. But after his death, this Ancient Tomb became a taboo that no one dared to enter."

"Oh? Why?"

Chen Fu said, "Because after the First Emperor of Qin died, he turned into a pool of blood that flowed into the depths of the Tomb Chamber, forming an underground river. His blood corrodes all things, melting even stone. Furthermore, this blood is extremely toxic; once touched, not even a corpse remains."

Ye Bai pondered, "So that's why there are so many Skeletons here. They wanted to avoid death, but ended up all dying anyway."

"Exactly! They all died!"

Chen Fu said, "Our destination is the largest coffin here."

"Then..." Ye Bai looked into the distance, "We are still a few kilometers away from it, aren't we?"

Chen Fu's voice was full of sorrow.

"We only have half an hour left. Do you two still have the strength to walk there?"

Meng Ziyi said without hesitation, "I can."

Yang Mi gritted her teeth and said, "I can too."

Chen Fu lamented, "It's good to be young. Unfortunately... I'm about to die."

He suddenly began to cough. Clutching his chest, his lips turned black, and a thick, foul-smelling stream of blood surged from his throat.

Meng Ziyi asked, "Are you poisoned?"

Panting heavily, Chen Fu said, "Yes, I'm poisoned. There's something wrong with the air here. The reason I brought you here was to have you absorb the miasma here to expel the toxins from your bodies."

Ye Bai took out silver needles and pierced various acupuncture points across Chen Fu's body to seal them.

"I'm going to perform a detoxification technique on you now. Please cooperate and do not move."

Chen Fu nodded.

Ye Bai pressed down on several vertebrae on Chen Fu's spine. He kneaded and pushed with force. These vertebrae were already fragile, and under the influence of the poison, they instantly crumbled into debris, which was squeezed out by the force of his hands.

"Blegh—" Chen Fu spat out a mouthful of black blood and collapsed limply to the ground.

Ye Bai used a towel to wipe the blood from the silver needles and then disinfected them with alcohol.

He turned to Yang Mi and said, "You come and support Mr. Chen."

Yang Mi stepped forward to help Chen Fu up.

Ye Bai then took a candle and placed it near Chen Fu to illuminate his limbs.

He took a small bottle from his pack, poured out a pill, and held it to Chen Fu's lips. "Take this."

Chen Fu swallowed the pill and sat cross-legged to circulate his energy. After five or six minutes, he finally regained some strength, sat up, and said, "Thank you. Are you truly a doctor?"

Ye Bai shook his head. "I suppose so."

He continued walking forward.

"Wait," Chen Fu called out to him. "Why didn't you kill me? Do you actually trust me?"

Without looking back, Ye Bai replied, "I only trust myself. If I trusted you, I wouldn't have followed you here."

With that, he walked away.

"Hehe, such a clever child."

Chen Fu sighed, "But... why would such a clever child choose to be my opponent?"

...After walking two or three hundred meters, they heard the sound of gurgling water.

"There's a water source!" Both were overjoyed.

Ye Bai followed the sound of water to find it.

The water was from a hot spring. He intended to bathe.

"Wait here for a while, I'll be done soon," he said.

He stripped off his clothes and jumped into the hot spring. He lay back comfortably, tilting his neck up, enjoying the pleasure of the hot spring water soaking his entire body.

Suddenly, Ye Bai's brow furrowed.

He keenly caught an unusual scent.

It was a faint smell of blood.

"What's going on?" Confused, he climbed out from the water and looked around alertly. "Is it an illusion?"

But the bloody scent persisted. Ye Bai held his breath and crept forward silently.

He rounded a wall, and his eyes suddenly widened!

Several Skeletons were actually lying in the corner!

Those Skeletons had completely lost all signs of life. They were purple, their skin had cracked, revealing ghastly green muscle tissue.

"What kind of monsters are these?" Ye Bai was astonished.

Suddenly, he saw a plaque hanging on the nearby wall. It was inscribed with strange patterns.

"What script is this?" He leaned in to observe closely.

He discovered that the characters seemed to be Chinese.

At that moment, a thought flashed through his mind.

He had an amazing memory. Although he had only studied for a few short months, he still remembered simple ancient Chinese characters by heart.

Ye Bai recognized those characters; the correct meaning should be 'Yellow Springs'.

"Yellow Springs! A Skeleton is actually buried here! Does another world really exist?" Ye Bai was shocked.

The appearance of 'Yellow Springs' confirmed his suspicion. The truth of this graveyard very likely involved an unknown secret.

And that secret could only be revealed through the Yellow Springs.

Ye Bai's heart pounded wildly. This was an unprecedented thrill.

"Let's go see!" He gave a low shout and leaped past the wall.

Yang Mi and Meng Ziyi also quickly followed.

The Tomb Gate was locked. Ye Bai used his Dagger to cut the chain and pushed open the heavy iron door. A faint light filtered through the crack; evidently, the wind outside was strong, scattering sunlight inside.

"Let's go!" Ye Bai immediately stepped over the threshold.

Inside this Ancient Tomb Chamber, the layout was very exquisite and magnificent, like a palace hall.

Ye Bai stood in the center of the Tomb hall, looking around. It was filled with treasures.

Yang Mi said, "Oh my god, I'm not seeing things, am I? That bronze ding is actually here!" She pointed at a massive bronze ding.

"Yeah." Meng Ziyi nodded in admiration. "The shape of that bronze ding is very elegant; it truly deserves to be called a 'work of art'."

Ye Bai stared at the bronze ding and murmured, "Dragons and phoenixes are carved upon it. The craftsmanship is complex yet seems natural; it is truly a divine artifact." He looked at Meng Ziyi. "Brother Meng, do you recognize this tripod?"

Meng Ziyi gave a bitter laugh. "This is also my first time seeing such a high-end bronze vessel, how could I recognize it? Brother Ye, you are well-read, surely you know what this is?"

Ye Bai nodded. "This bronze ding is named 'Yellow Springs', and it was made by the famous Song Dynasty craftsman, Wang Xizhi. This Large Tripod Cauldron has a title—'The Treasure of Ten Thousand Nations'."

Yang Mi said excitedly, "Then isn't it worth a fortune!"

Ye Bai smiled and nodded, his gaze then falling onto a table.

A pile of things was laid out on this table.
