374: The spring inside the cave has extremely pure water.

However, it was completely useless.

"No, this isn't real!" Meng Ziyi screamed in despair. "Mr. Ye! Sister Mi!"

She was unwilling to just stay here like this; she wanted to go find Ye Bai and the others.

She stood up and pushed hard against the Iron Cage bars.

With a harsh, grating sound, a thick, red liquid seeped out from the gaps in the Iron Cage.

The smell of blood rushed into her nose.

"Ahhh!" Meng Ziyi screamed in terror, collapsing to the ground as her legs shook like chaff.

Suddenly, the lid above the Iron Cage slowly lifted, revealing the hideous, ugly sight inside.

"Awoo!" Meng Ziyi screamed in terror; she had never seen such a thing before!

The shrill screams echoed throughout the entire underground palace.

Those rotting corpses were baring their fangs and brandishing their claws as they lunged toward her.

"No... don't!" Meng Ziyi was petrified, standing frozen in place, not daring to move a muscle.

Just at this critical moment, Ye Bai rushed into the underground palace and knocked the group of corpses to the ground.

"Hurry, let's go!" Ye Bai grabbed Meng Ziyi and ran outside, with Yang Mi following closely behind.

The three of them sprinted, finally escaping the underground palace.

Yang Mi collapsed onto the ground, feeling that she had experienced more in this one night than in all twenty-eight years of her life.

"Thank you both," she said, panting.

"You're welcome, it was just a small effort," Ye Bai laughed. "Are your injuries okay?"

"I... I'm fine," Yang Mi said, lowering her head.

Ye Bai scanned the surroundings and discovered that they were at the top of a cliff, with a bottomless abyss beneath them.

He frowned. "The wind here is so strong."

Yang Mi nodded. "Yes, I remember there's a waterfall nearby. I wonder if the wind is even stronger over by the waterfall?"

Just as she finished speaking, a sudden, loud roar erupted!

"Boom!"

A wave of water surged several meters high, rolling in like a tsunami.

Yang Mi's expression changed instantly, and she quickly hugged Meng Ziyi, hiding behind Ye Bai.

Ye Bai reached back to hold them, preventing the two from getting hurt, but the immense pressure made it hard for the two girls to breathe.

"Waaah!" Meng Ziyi screamed in a breakdown, tears rolling down her face. "Help! Help!"

Yang Mi bit her lip and reached out to grab Ye Bai's shoulder, whispering, "Maybe... maybe we're really going to die..."

"Are you not afraid of death?" Ye Bai smiled.

"Hmm..." Yang Mi let out a soft hum, seemingly wanting to say something, but stopped herself.

Meng Ziyi cried until her voice was hoarse. "Brother Ye Bai, do you think... those corpses will catch up to us?"

Ye Bai smiled. "Don't worry, they won't be able to climb up for the time being."

As he spoke, another huge wave surged over and slammed against the rock, shaking them all over.

Ye Bai suddenly bent down, planting his feet on the rock and bracing his hands on both sides to maintain his balance.

Yang Mi mimicked Ye Bai's posture, burying her head in his chest.

Although there was a layer of clothing between them, Ye Bai could still feel the soft sensation, which made his heart flutter slightly.

Meng Ziyi lay in Ye Bai's embrace, smelling the masculine Qi on him, her cheeks flushing red.

At this moment, with a "clatter" sound, the rock wall beside them split open.

That Passage leading downward reappeared, and many skeletal remains drifted down along the Passage, turning into dust in mid-air.

Just then, a head popped out; it was actually a zombie!

Its body was shriveled and thin, covered in wrinkles, its face filled with liver spots and purplish bruises, and its pair of eyes were blood-red and bloodthirsty.

"Oooo..." the zombie let out an eerie howl and lunged toward them.

Ye Bai gave a cold smile and swung his fist directly, smashing the zombie's head to pieces.

He held both girls with one arm and leaped into the Passage.

The zombie's roar rang out behind them, like the wailing of a devil.

The Passage was pitch black, with only the footsteps of Ye Bai and the two others echoing.

Not far away, a dim yellow lightbulb emitted a faint glow, illuminating the narrow, long Passage.

Suddenly, the sound of dripping water came from ahead.

Yang Mi and Meng Ziyi exchanged a glance, their expressions changing instantly, as if they had heard something extremely terrifying.

"Ah—" Yang Mi was terrified and couldn't help but scream.

"Shut up!" Ye Bai scolded. "If you make any more noise, I'll throw you down!"

Yang Mi immediately covered her mouth, looking obedient and docile.

Ye Bai led the way toward the water source ahead.

Under the light of the bulb, the water flow formed an elliptical arc, flowing on the ground.

"This is... a living spring?" Meng Ziyi looked at this pool of clear water in disbelief.

Yang Mi also became excited. She leaned in to take a sip, and her eyes widened immediately. "It's so magical, this spring water is actually so sweet!"

"Sweet?" Ye Bai shook his head. "It's not sweet, it's stinky!"

He took a mineral water bottle, unscrewed the cap, poured out the water inside, and replaced it with another bottle.

Meng Ziyi and Yang Mi immediately smelled a foul stench, even worse than a cesspit.

"I... I'm going to throw up!" Meng Ziyi quickly ran away.

"Pfft—" Yang Mi didn't care and cupped the water to drink a few big gulps.

"Mmm! So refreshing! It's been so long since I've had such delicious food!" She narrowed her eyes and sighed happily.

Ye Bai covered his forehead. Where did this person's IQ go?

"Brother Ye Bai, how did you know where the living spring was?" Yang Mi asked.

Ye Bai pointed ahead and said, "Because the road ahead is very spacious."

Yang Mi looked, and sure enough, they walked for nearly a hundred meters before seeing the end.

On the floor at the end, there was a sunken floor tile, and the groove was filled with spring water.

Yang Mi was overjoyed and quickly turned on her phone, activating the flashlight function.

"Let me try." She squatted down and poured the water into the groove.

"Gurgle, gurgle..."

The spring water spread rapidly, and in the blink of an eye, it filled the entire groove, accumulating more and more.

Yang Mi widened her eyes in surprise. "How magical! This water seems endless, it just won't stop flowing!"

"We're quite lucky." Ye Bai smiled faintly. "Since we've found a living spring, it should solve our predicament."

"Yeah!" Yang Mi was extremely excited. She stood up and said to Ye Bai, "Brother Ye Bai, let's keep going!"

"Alright!"

Ye Bai led them to continue walking.

"Huh?" When they reached a corner, Ye Bai stopped. "Here... there are traces of manual chiseling!"

"This..." Meng Ziyi said in surprise. "Could it be a Treasure Trove left behind by the ancients?"

"I don't know, let's go over and take a look first!" Ye Bai said.

The three of them continued forward, and before long, they heard the sound of gurgling water; the water quality was even clearer and more transparent.

Ye Bai slowed his pace and followed the sound, and sure enough, he found a pool of emerald green, clear spring water in an open space.

"It really is a living spring!" Meng Ziyi was ecstatic and immediately rushed forward to scoop up a ladleful.

"Ugh—" She was choked by the stimulation and coughed. "It really is so stinky!"

Yang Mi quickly pulled Meng Ziyi back.

Yang Mi comforted her. "This spring water is alive; don't be anxious, it won't be stinky in a little while."

Meng Ziyi blinked her large, wet eyes and followed obediently by Ye Bai's side.

Ye Bai walked to the edge of the living spring and observed it carefully.

"This is a natural living spring eye." Ye Bai touched the bottom of the pool. "The water quality is pure, the temperature is low, the oxygen content is high, and the depth is appropriate; it can be called a blessed land."
