83: The corpse inside the bronze pillar, the man-eating snake

The sound was very faint, and no one present heard it; they only felt that the surrounding atmosphere had become somewhat heavy and oppressive.

In the Live Stream Room—

"Damn! Is Cai Xukun sick or something? Is that something he can just sit on? What if something happens?"

"Exactly! This is considered an antique, what right does he have to sit on it? If he breaks it, can he afford to pay for it? And he calls himself a pillar of the entertainment industry? Bah! He has absolutely no upbringing."

"It's just a chair, what's wrong with sitting on it? The High Priest can sit on it, so why can't my Kun Kun?"

"Exactly! Isn't a chair meant for sitting?"

"Holy crap! Brainless fans like you are rare. Seeing you talk like this, I'm actually relieved. You guys certainly deserve the credit for ruining your Kun Kun's career!"

"Who knows what's on that chair? He just sat on it so nonchalantly, crushing his fancy clothes under his butt. If I were the High Priest, I would definitely come back and beat him up."

The audience expressed outrage at Cai Xukun's behavior.

Inside the Tomb.

Wu Jing, Yang Mi, and the others stood at this angle looking down at the pillars below, feeling a kind of... indescribable strangeness.

This place seemed to be a spot for watching executions.

"Ye Bai, this position is the High Priest's, right?" Yang Mi turned to look at Ye Bai.

Ye Bai nodded. "This is the courtroom; those who commit crimes end up like those Dried Corpses."

"But can a dozen or so corpses release that much blood? This isn't scientific!" Reba's eyes widened, completely unable to understand.

Could the blood of these dozen people really amount to so much?

Crack! The sound of cracking was very distinct in the silent cave.

"What was that sound?" Hua Chenyu's ears twitched; he had just heard a faint noise.

"It sounds like something split open." Zhang Dada heard it too. He searched everywhere for the source of the sound, but found nothing.

Crack, crack, crack! Several cracking sounds came from the space around them.

Wu Jing, Yang Mi, and the others followed the sound and determined that it was coming from the bronze pillars.

Finally, Yang Mi clearly saw that the Azure Dragon Statue carved on the bronze had a crack at the position of its eye, and the crack was getting bigger and bigger, with red liquid emerging from inside.

Yang Mi's pupils contracted suddenly.

"Brother Jing! Look, the bronze pillar has cracked!" Yang Mi's voice rang out, filled with terror.

This made everyone, who were looking for Bailu and Reba, tremble, and they all instinctively stared at the bronze pillar in front of them.

They discovered that the Statues of the Azure Dragon and White Tiger carved earlier were all covered in cracks. The cracks were growing larger, and red liquid was flowing down along the bronze pillars.

A powerful, fishy stench wafted over.

"Ah... Ye Bai!" Seeing the red liquid oozing from the bronze pillar, Reba hurriedly ran behind Ye Bai, not daring to look directly at the red blood on the pillar.

Thud! A piece of the bronze pillar fell off, creating a large gap, and a corpse tumbled out from inside.

The corpse was covered in red bloodstains, and there wasn't a single piece of intact flesh on its body; it was all covered in marks from being gnawed on by something.

Seeing this scene, Bailu and Meng Ziyi were so scared that they both hid behind Ye Bai.

"Ye Bai! Could it be that there are corpses inside all these bronze pillars?" Bailu was terrified at this moment, her voice trembling as she spoke.

"Then I finally understand why there is so much blood in the blood pool. These bronze pillars are full of corpses, and their blood was all contributed to that blood pool." Hua Chenyu was the first to speak, his voice filled with panic.

Watching these corpses fall out, Zhang Dada, Cai Xukun, and Huang Zitao were stunned and instinctively took a few steps back. Their faces turned deathly pale.

"We should hurry and..." Zhang Dada didn't want to stay for another second, but before he could finish his sentence, he heard a familiar sound.

Hiss, hiss, hiss!

Upon hearing the sound of snakes flicking their tongues, Zhang Dada and the others stiffened in unison.

Their pupils contracted sharply. They turned to look in the direction of the sound and saw red little snakes among the corpses that had fallen from inside the bronze pillars.

These snakes were wriggling back and forth on the ground in dense numbers, emitting hissing sounds.

"Snake... Snakes!!!" Zhang Dada opened his mouth, his teeth chattering, and finally managed to blurt out a sentence.

The bullet comments in the Live Stream Room were just like those falling little snakes, flashing across the screen in unison.

"Ahhh!! Snakes? Snakes again!!"

"Damn it! Did they poke a snake nest? Why are there snakes everywhere? First, a big one, and now a whole swarm of little ones."

"Holy crap! I finally understand where the wounds on those corpses came from. Aren't these just snake bites? These snakes actually eat meat!"

"Are they poisonous?"

"I think they're poisonous. What kind of snakes are these? Could they also be Crimson Flame Serpents?"

"No way, no way!! Crimson Flame Serpents are so hard to come by; raising even one is an achievement. These aren't some dime-a-dozen trash!"

"Regardless of whether they are poisonous or if they are a breed of Crimson Flame Serpent, we should run for it now!"

Seeing the snakes falling down along with the corpses, the audience was shocked.

Now, all they could think about was one thing: run!

The snakes they had encountered before were Pythons, and there was only one, but now it was different; there were just too many of these.

Even though Ye Bai and Wu Jing were skilled in martial arts, they couldn't possibly handle all of them.

Therefore, running away was more important.

In the School of Biology.

Seeing so many corpses and little snakes emerging from inside the bronze, the professors' scalps went numb.

It wasn't that they hadn't seen snakes before, but these venomous snakes were truly astonishing.

"Oh my god! How can there be so many snakes?"

"These snakes have been trapped inside these bronze pillars for many years. When hungry, they would gnaw on these corpses..."

"This is simply a shocking act; it is truly extremely cruel."

After seeing this scene, the professors were all collectively shocked. Goosebumps rose on their bodies.

"These are all venomous snakes of various species. It's just that they have been soaked in blood for years, and the scales on their bodies have been dyed red by the fresh blood."

"This is bad! With so many snakes, I'm afraid even Ye Bai and Wu Jing will be unable to protect themselves."

Professor Han was full of worry at this moment, mainly because these people couldn't help at all and would only be a burden to others.

Inside the Tomb.

"Ah..." "Snakes!"

Yang Chaoyue felt her scalp go numb, and a chill rushed from the soles of her feet to the top of her head.

She was so scared that she kept stomping her feet, as if doing so could drive away half the snakes.

"Stop screaming, let's go now!"

Seeing how scared Reba and Yang Chaoyue were, Yang Mi was the first to regain her composure, grabbing them both and running inward.

Bailu and Meng Ziyi were also so scared that their faces turned pale.

"Ah! Don't come over!" Bailu screamed, revealing her little tiger fangs, and shouted in a panic, pulling Meng Ziyi along as she followed behind Yang Mi.

When Wu Jing saw these snakes, he was also stunned!
