65: So this is the ancient kingdom of Yelang? The entire internet is shocked!
This place was deep in the mountains and forests of Northern Myanmar, and a single glance around confirmed it looked like somewhere no human could possibly set foot in this lifetime!
It was fraught with danger, a place where even a dog would shake its head and turn back.
Now, seeing that there were actually buildings here... how was that possible?
Who would live here?
Were they crazy?
“I don't think the people living here were ancient hunters; it's very likely it was a large clan.”
Upon hearing Yang Mi's words, Wu Jing nodded with certainty, his tone very solemn.
When Ye Bai saw the stones of these buildings, he was momentarily stunned before observing them closely.
Looking at the foundations built from these stones, nothing much could be discerned. Adding to that, there were many adobe bricks; however, due to their age and the humid air, moss had begun to grow on them, making them look similar to blue stone bricks at first glance.
Wu Jing scraped away the moss from one of the bricks, finally managing to see something unique.
Ye Bai took a brief scan of the scale of these stones; the foundations of every house were primarily large and wide.
Some used fired bricks, others used adobe, and rammed earth was used for the walls.
To have such diversified house construction, it could only be from the Qin and Han Dynasties... Ye Bai then picked up a stone brick and examined it for a few moments.
Meanwhile, Yang Mi took a nearby stone and smashed it hard, revealing the adobe brick inside.
An adobe house?
Modern?
Yang Mi was stunned, sensing something wasn't right. A modern one shouldn't look like this... and adobe bricks like these could be traced back as far as the Qin and Han Dynasties.
Could this place be from a thousand years ago?
If that were the case, then it would make sense—why there was a Corpse Accumulation Ground beneath the Corpse Scent Konjac, and why those two female ghosts were there... Yang Mi widened her eyes and looked around. As far as the eye could see, for at least several hundred meters, the trees were not very tall.
In other words, it was highly probable that their root development was obstructed by these buildings!
Then... this place was very likely at least a gathering place for a city!
Wu Jing looked at the patterns on the brick and handed it to Ye Bai.
Ye Bai took a look and lowered his head, saying:
“This brick is evergreen and hollow; it belongs to the Qin and Han Dynasties and was only used for the construction of palaces and Tomb Chambers!”
“There is writing on the brick, but it looks like a pattern; it should be a local characteristic!”
Hiss!
As his voice fell, everyone gasped.
This matched most people's guesses.
This place was anything but simple!
Wu Jing hesitated, saying:
“So that means...”
Yang Mi and the others all looked at Ye Bai.
Knowing the question they wanted to ask, Ye Bai said directly:
“Corpse Scent Konjac only appears in one place, and that is a Tomb. The Blood Vine and Corpse Scent Konjac are set up to kill and block Tomb Robbers, and to sustain a Corpse Scent Konjac, a large number of corpses are required!”
“Only ancient emperors, generals, and ministers were qualified for this.”
Although this is Northern Myanmar, it is located in the southwest; it's very likely it was a gathering place for a certain ethnic group or tribe during the Nanyue period!
However, to be able to skillfully use the brick kiln technology of Great Xia...
it was impossible for that to be an ability possessed only by a minority ethnic group.
Yang Mi made a bold guess:
“Then is it possible this was a Royal City?”
“A Royal City?”
Hearing this, everyone standing nearby was stunned and widened their eyes... No one had dared to think in this direction before, but now that Yang Mi had mentioned it, it really was possible!
“This... no way...”
Reba shook her head in disbelief, but there was a hint of excitement in her eyes. A Royal City—as a celebrity, she had never encountered such things in her life. She didn't expect that through an adventure show, she would actually have the chance to touch ancient history!
“Isn't that a bit of an exaggeration!”
Huahua opened his mouth. A Royal City was different from ordinary things; a Royal City represented status and so, so much more.
If this were a Royal City, wouldn't that mean there was once a glorious and unknown history here?
If it were true, it would be too terrifying!
“Yang Mi is right.”
Before anyone else could speak, Ye Bai spoke first, his gaze scanning the wide and sparsely forested area before them.
“This is very likely a Royal City because it is filled with elements of the Qin and Han Dynasties. The inscriptions you see on the bricks and tiles, based on the age marks on them, are at least a thousand years old!”
“In ancient times, only a Royal City would have the qualification to gather such a large open space and use the bricks and tiles intended for palaces and mausoleums to build city walls!”
When Ye Bai said this, his tone was even more solemn than before.
Listening to Ye Bai's words, the shock in Wu Jing and Reba's eyes intensified... Wu Jing really didn't want to admit it, but... from these dilapidated and fragmented buildings, they didn't look like modern structures at all. Furthermore, there were no known modern records of people living here, otherwise, it wouldn't be a restricted area!
The Qin and Han Dynasties?
Or perhaps?
Wu Jing wasn't sure, but the discoveries so far had already pushed his thinking to its limits!
He felt that he might have found a lost ruin belonging to Great Xia.
Bai Lu and Yang Mi couldn't imagine the consequences if this truly were a Royal City, but they couldn't worry about that now; there were too many things they needed to verify regarding lost history!
Moreover, a wild city of this level often represented treasures and wealth!
“Ye Bai, you say this is a Royal City, then do you know which king's city this was?”
Yang Mi suddenly looked at Ye Bai, asking with doubt and uncertainty.
Ye Bai thought for a moment, searching through the memories in his head—the history of his previous life and the known historical world after transmigrating to this one.
Soon,
His mind settled on a piece of history that had never been explored in this parallel world.
Yelang!
Ye Bai thought for a bit and said:
“I once had a Third Uncle!”
Everyone looked confused.
The audience was also confused.
What does this have to do with a Third Uncle?
“Third Uncle liked to collect ancient culture, and I was quite studious!”
Everyone: ... Audience: ... (Someone is being shameless!)
“So when I was a child, I occasionally stumbled upon a record that explained the depths of Northern Myanmar and a thousand-year-old culture. In that text, a country was mentioned that might not exist in our history books!”
“Yelang!”
Hiss!
When they heard these two words, everyone was stunned. One must know that history in this parallel world had gaps; Great Xia's history was always criticized because while it spanned five thousand years, very little was known.
And now, if there really was such a country as Yelang!
Then could Great Xia's history truly be pushed forward by many, many years?
And... Ye Bai said it was a country, a kingdom!!!!
The antiques inside, and the treasures!!!
How many would there be!!!!
“During the Qin and Han Dynasties, there was a kingdom in the Northern Myanmar region. This kingdom was the first country established by a minority ethnic group, which is the Yelang Kingdom!”
“The capital of the Yelang Kingdom was built at the Sinan location on the banks of the Zangke River. With the changes in terrain, it eventually evolved into our current location.”
Ye Bai spoke according to his memory.
“You're saying this is the Yelang Kingdom?”
Upon hearing this, Yang Mi showed a look of shock and spoke with some urgency.
“Yang Mi, you know of this kingdom?” Wu Jing was a bit confused.
“The idiom 'Yelang's Self-Importance' comes from the Yelang Kingdom. This country can be traced back to the Warring States period. My ancestors were Archaeologists, and they once mentioned the existence of the Yelang Kingdom in passing, but said its history was brief. Furthermore, Great Xia currently has no direct evidence to prove the existence of this country, causing this period of history to only exist in some historical records!”
“Is this really the Yelang Kingdom???”
Yang Mi had always thought she was reading unofficial history and that Yelang and such were fabrications. Then suddenly one day, someone tells you that the place you are currently standing is Yelang—that feeling was truly wonderful.
Reba and Bai Lu's mouths hung open after hearing Yang Mi's explanation.
Yelang really was a country?
Isn't this too miraculous?
And Ye Bai's Third Uncle even knew this. What kind of identity must his Third Uncle have? He couldn't be a Tomb Robber, right??
Zhang Dada was already thinking of ways to trick him into revealing the Third Uncle's identity. Based on Ye Bai's age, the Third Uncle shouldn't be too old either. If they caught the Third Uncle, they might be able to contribute to the country!
In the Live Stream Room—
[Holy crap! Holy crap! I just came to watch an adventure show, how did it turn into Ancient Tomb exploration?]
[Ahhh!! Little brother Ye Bai is so handsome, he's simply a fountain of knowledge, so amazing!! My desire to have his babies is getting strong again!]
[I'm so conflicted right now! Seeing my goddess so infatuated with Ye Bai earlier made my heart jump, I just wanted it to end as soon as possible, but now I actually want to keep watching...]
[Oh my!! Is Ye Bai even human? Great skills, great ability, wide knowledge, and now he can even analyze which dynasty a Royal City belongs to! How is he human?]
[Holy crap!! There's a Tomb here? There's a Royal City here too? The nature of this has completely changed!]
[What Royal City? This is an ancient city ruin! This is a ruin!!]
[Ahhh! Our Great Xia has historical ruins too, that's great, that's just great!!]
[Damn! I'm so excited, are we going to see historical ruins? And see first-hand data on the Tomb? Since you're already here, why not go down into the Tomb and take a look?]
The fans were extremely excited at this moment; they were now looking forward immensely to whether they would follow Ye Bai and the others to see the situation inside the Tomb.
However, some fans were very rational.
[Royal City, Ancient Tomb? Yelang? Isn't this just bullsh*tting? You call it a Royal City based on just a few bricks?]
[Then since I'm watching your stream now, can I say I'm from Mars and that I'm a freaking alien?]
[Standard bullsh*t literature!]
