367: Thrilling plot twist, underground river ghost

The three continued forward in search of clues.

As they walked, Ye Bai suddenly stopped; cold sweat seeped from his forehead, and his face turned slightly pale.

Yang Mi and Meng Ziyi were frightened and hurriedly asked, "Mr. Ye, what's wrong?"

"I'm fine," Ye Bai said, shaking his head.

"That's good, then. I thought something had happened to you," Yang Mi said with a sigh of relief.

Ye Bai rubbed his temples and said, "My head is throbbing with pain, as if something is about to burst out."

Yang Mi and Meng Ziyi said nervously, "Then let's take a quick rest."

Ye Bai sat on the ground and closed his eyes, struggling to restrain his agitation. He knew the abnormality just now was because the Devilish Qi sealed within his body was acting up again.

"This really is a good place."

He opened his eyes, which flickered with a black light.

"You two wait for me here. I'll be right back."

Saying that, he stood up and walked toward a Stone Chamber where a set of golden armor lay, buried under dust.

He reached out with both hands to pick up the Armor and tore at it violently; the Armor instantly shattered into pieces.

This was a set of golden armor, exquisitely and magnificently crafted.

It was over a person's height, with heavy Armor draped over the shoulders, a shield in hand, a quiver on the chest, and a recurve bow with a feathered arrow tucked into the waist.

Ye Bai picked up the bow and arrow, aimed at a stone pillar, and fired; with a bang, the stone pillar shattered.

He then picked up the shield and slammed it forward with force; with a boom, the shield instantly disintegrated.

"As expected of an Ancient Divine Weapon."

He picked up the bow and arrows, nocked an arrow, and fired seven or eight shots in rapid succession; every feathered arrow hit the stone pillar.

Ye Bai walked to the stone pillar, squatted down, and used his Dagger to cut it open, revealing a Cave about half a zhang square.

He crawled inside, and soon, the clanging sound of metal colliding echoed from within.

A moment later, he walked out carrying a golden staff.

The golden staff was pitch-black and shiny, glinting with a cold light and feeling heavy in his hand.

Ye Bai swung it twice and nodded with satisfaction: "Good quality."

Ye Bai brandished the golden staff, the wind from the staff whistling as the surrounding air seemed to be stirred up. Yang Mi and Meng Ziyi watched from the side, dumbfounded.

"Ye Bai, you're..." Meng Ziyi spoke in surprise.

Ye Bai just gave her a cold look: "This thing might help us deal with the upcoming dangers."

There was another heated discussion in the Live Stream Room:

"Great God Ye Bai is so cool! That golden staff looks really powerful!"

"Just who is he? He's feeling more and more mysterious."

"Mi Mi and Ziyi need to be careful; Ye Bai seems a bit off."

Ye Bai continued forward with the golden staff, and Yang Mi and Meng Ziyi quickly followed. Suddenly, the temperature dropped sharply, and their breath turned into white mist.

"It's so cold. Something doesn't seem right here," Yang Mi said, hugging her arms.

Meng Ziyi also shuddered: "I feel like a pair of eyes is staring at us."

Ye Bai stopped and gripped the golden staff tightly: "Everyone be careful, there might be Yin Spirits here. In folklore, some Yin Spirits guard treasures in Ancient Tombs; they attack once someone approaches."

Just as he finished speaking, an eerie laugh echoed through the mountain cavern, making one's hair stand on end.

Several blurry figures drifted out of the Stone Chamber; their forms were ethereal, their faces hideous, and a sinister red light flickered in their eyes.

"It's Yin Spirits!"

Ye Bai whispered, "Don't let them get close. It'll be trouble if you're possessed."

Ye Bai charged toward the Yin Spirits, swinging the golden staff; it cut through the air with a humming sound.

With every swing, a powerful force radiated out, forcing the Yin Spirits to keep their distance.

But the Yin Spirits were numerous; they surrounded Ye Bai, searching for an opportunity to attack.

"We have to help Ye Bai." Yang Mi took out the peach wood sword she was carrying—Ye Bai had prepared it for her earlier.

Meng Ziyi also took out several pieces of talisman paper Ye Bai had given her: "Boss Ye gave me these in a Tomb Chamber earlier. I hope they're useful."

The two ran toward Ye Bai and engaged in a struggle with the Yin Spirits.

Every time Yang Mi's peach wood sword stabbed a Yin Spirit, it would let out a pained scream and partially dissipate.

When Meng Ziyi's talisman paper was stuck onto a Yin Spirit, it could also temporarily immobilize it.

"Be careful!" Ye Bai shouted, increasing the speed of his attacks as the golden staff whistled through the air.

The viewers in the Live Stream Room were all on edge for them:

"Streamers, keep it up! These Yin Spirits look terrifying."

"Mi Mi and Ziyi are so brave. I really couldn't tell before."

"Great God Ye Bai, stay steady! The situation feels very critical."

After a fierce battle, the Yin Spirits were gradually driven back. Ye Bai panted, looking at Yang Mi and Meng Ziyi: "Are you two okay?"

"We're fine, just a bit tired," Yang Mi replied.

Meng Ziyi nodded: "These Yin Spirits are too scary. We need to find the exit quickly."

The three continued forward and reached the center of the mountain cavern. There was a massive Stone Platform here, with an ancient divination compass resting on it.

The needle on the divination compass spun incessantly, emitting a faint light.

"This divination compass doesn't look simple." Ye Bai stepped forward, observing it closely.

"Could it be the key to leaving this place?" Yang Mi asked.

Ye Bai reached out to touch the divination compass.

Suddenly, the light from the divination compass flared up, illuminating the entire space.

Blurry images appeared within the light, resembling ancient maps and writing.

"Is this... a map of the Ancient Tomb?" Ye Bai said in surprise.

"Really? Then we can find the exit!" Meng Ziyi jumped up in excitement.

The viewers in the Live Stream Room also cheered:

"Great! There's hope for the Streamers!"

"This plot twist is so thrilling."

Ye Bai tried his best to memorize the information on the map, then followed the guidance in a certain direction.

Along the way, they encountered more small mechanisms and traps, but Ye Bai skillfully neutralized them all.

As they walked, they heard the sound of gurgling water.

"There's the sound of water. Could there be an exit nearby?" Yang Mi said happily.

They followed the sound and discovered an Underground River. The river water was crystal clear but carried a chilling coldness.

"This river should lead outside. Let's follow it," Ye Bai said.

Just as they were about to walk along the riverbank, Meng Ziyi suddenly pointed at the riverbed and shouted, "Look, what is that?"

There was a massive dark shadow at the bottom of the river, swimming slowly as if it had sensed their presence.

"This couldn't be the legendary Water Ghost, could it?" Yang Mi said nervously.

Ye Bai raised an eyebrow; what he feared least were Water Ghosts.

Ye Bai looked at the dark shadow at the riverbed, a cold smile appearing at the corners of his mouth: "Water Ghost? Just a bunch of small fries." Saying that, he gripped the golden staff in his hand, preparing to enter the water.
