266: That smooth, effortless maneuver...you're a pro!

The three of them walked along the Stone Steps and slowly ascended the High Platform.

On the High Platform, there were several boxes placed.

Yang Mi rushed forward impatiently and opened one of the boxes.

Suddenly, a dazzling golden light flashed out from the box, so bright that it made people unable to open their eyes.

"Ah!" Yang Mi couldn't help but scream. Her eyes were glazed over, and she stood there, staring blankly, not daring to move an inch.

Ye Bai immediately pulled her over, held her in his arms, and gently stroked her back to comfort her: "It's okay now, it's safe."

After a long while, Yang Mi finally regained her clarity. She raised her hazy eyes to gaze at Ye Bai, her beautiful face filled with shock. Only now did she realize what exactly she had seen.

"Oh my god, so much jewelry!" Yang Mi couldn't hide her excitement.

Ye Bai nodded and smiled: "Not bad, right? It's worth at least ten million."

"Wow—" Yang Mi couldn't help but exclaim again, saying happily: "Ye Bai, you are simply a lucky star."

"I can only be considered someone who helps those in need without leaving a name," Ye Bai said modestly.

He sealed the box lid back up, then turned his head to look at the rows of shelves nearby. The shelves were filled with porcelain, jade, books, and other precious cultural relics.

"Let's move them away quickly!" Yang Mi urged.

"No rush." Ye Bai shook his head: "I want to see if there are any coffins or weapons."

Yang Mi rolled her eyes and said: "How did you become a bandit?"

Ye Bai smiled: "You don't understand, this is called robbing the rich to help the poor."

He casually selected a few pieces of porcelain and jade with higher value, finally put the others back in their original places, and packed them into his backpack.

Yang Mi asked curiously: "Hey, Ye Bai, why do you insist on taking these antiques?"

"Nonsense, of course it's to sell them for money. These are all antiques, they are worth a lot."

"Pfft, I don't believe you." Yang Mi pouted.

"Alright, stop messing around with you, let's go quickly."

The three of them continued walking down the Stone Steps.

"Huh?" Suddenly, Ye Bai stopped and murmured a sentence.

"What's wrong?" Yang Mi asked.

"It's nothing, let's go." Ye Bai said indifferently.

Soon, everyone passed through the stone corridor. Moving forward, it suddenly opened up. They arrived at another spacious area. Dozens of shriveled corpses were lying scattered about.

The chests of the corpses were sliced open by sharp blades, and the blood had long since drained away. Moreover, they all maintained the same posture, obviously having suffered a fatal attack at the moment of death.

There were about fifty or sixty of these corpses, their deaths were extremely miserable, making one's hair stand on end. Even more terrifying was that their entire bodies were covered with dense maggots! The maggots were wriggling and gnawing on the flesh of the corpses, a sight that was shocking to behold.

"Ah—" Yang Mi screamed in fear and hurriedly hid behind Ye Bai.

"Ye Bai, what exactly is this place?" Meng Ziyi asked, trembling.

Ye Bai was silent for a moment, then suddenly grinned, revealing his snow-white teeth. He pointed to the pile of corpses and said in a playful tone: "This is Hell!"

"Hell?!" Yang Mi was stunned.

Meng Ziyi turned even paler.

"What nonsense are you spouting?" She demanded.

Ye Bai shrugged and said: "Do I have any reason to lie to you?"

Yang Mi carefully examined the surrounding corpses. Although she hadn't experienced much of the secular world, she had watched plenty of movies and TV shows, and she vaguely felt that something was wrong.

She hesitated for a moment and tentatively said: "Could this really be... a haunted house?"

"A haunted house?" Ye Bai patted her head and teased: "You're quite smart."

Yang Mi shuddered in fear, her face twisted in a grimace: "Ye Bai, stop teasing me!"

"Look, do I look like I'm teasing you?"

Yang Mi took a few deep breaths, forcing herself to calm down. She looked around, her expression becoming increasingly grave. She discovered that the cause of death for most of these corpses was having their throats slit by sharp blades, and they died in a miserable state, which didn't seem like the work of normal people at all.

Yang Mi picked up the swords on the ground to examine them. She discovered that these items were passed down from ancient times, and each one was a sharp, peerless precious blade!

These precious blades were stained with the blood of their owners, causing the blades to exude a trace of a strange, evil aura.

Yang Mi picked up a few broken copper plates, lifted them with effort, and brought them under the light to observe.

"This is a Qianlong coin from the Qianlong era... This copper plate was fired in a Ming Dynasty official kiln... And this... is a bronze ding cast during the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties..."

Yang Mi gradually finished reading the content on the copper plates and couldn't help but exclaim: "These... are all actually antiques! And they are all priceless antiques!"

"That's right!" Ye Bai nodded appreciatively: "Not only that, there are many antiques from the Tang and Song dynasties, as well as the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties! There are even some antiques from the Warring States period in here."

Hearing his explanation, Yang Mi couldn't help but widen her eyes, stunned and speechless.

"These antiques added together are enough to sell for tens of billions in wealth!" Yang Mi couldn't help but click her tongue. Her family was well-off, but she had never seen such immense wealth in her life!

"Mm." Ye Bai nodded: "So I decided to move all these things out. After all, this Mausoleum hides too many secrets, who knows how much murderous intent it will attract? It's better to stay as far away as possible."

Yang Mi deeply agreed, so the two of them packed up these antiques together.

Ye Bai first checked the corpses, confirming that they had been dead for many days. Then he stripped off their clothes and stuffed all these things into their crotches.

As for the dirty mud and excrement, they were casually tossed aside by Ye Bai.

They spent nearly an entire night and finally transported all these antiques to the outside of the stone bridge. Yang Mi and Meng Ziyi were so exhausted that their backs ached, and they almost collapsed.

"Phew..." Ye Bai let out a long sigh of relief.

Yang Mi sat on the grass to rest for a moment, then said: "Are we sleeping here tonight? It's so eerie here, it's terrifying."

"Yeah, how about we change to another Passage?" Meng Ziyi also said.

Yang Mi stubbornly shook her head and insisted: "This is the only path that can lead to the core of the underground palace. I believe as long as we find the right method, we can definitely get in."

Ye Bai nodded, indicating his support for Yang Mi's view.

Yang Mi stood up and said: "Let's search carefully one more time."

The two of them found quite a few tools and food in the nearby corners. Ye Bai was responsible for keeping watch to prevent any dangerous creatures from intruding. Yang Mi picked up a shovel and a spade and began to dig.

This kind of terrain was simply suitable for grave robbing; it didn't require very complex tools, as long as one followed the markings drawn on the map to search.

Not long after, Yang Mi shouted excitedly: "Ye Bai, I've found the cave entrance!"
