222: Finding an exit requires your quick thinking.
"Let's go!" Ye Bai said, taking the lead to step across the Passage and walking deep inside along the Passage. Yang Mi followed closely behind him.
The further they went inside, the stronger the eerie feeling became.
Yang Mi's face grew paler and paler.
She had never encountered such a bizarre place.
"Huff, huff..." Yang Mi panted heavily, trembling as she said, "Mr... Mr. Ye... shouldn't we stop going in? I... I keep feeling like there is something terrifying..."
"Are you scared?" Ye Bai turned his head and glanced at Yang Mi.
"I... I'm fine..." Yang Mi gritted her teeth and persisted, "It's just that I'm a bit worried about the other students... I want to go out and tell them this news."
Ye Bai frowned upon hearing this.
"In that case, you go," he said.
"Ah?" Yang Mi was stunned. "You're just agreeing to it like that?"
Ye Bai said, "What else can I do if I don't agree? You are so scared, do you expect me to drag you in to die with me?"
Yang Mi was immediately rendered speechless.
Ye Bai continued walking forward and said, "There are too many mechanisms and hidden weapons here, so you must be careful. Also, if you encounter anything strange, just shout for help, and I will resolve it as quickly as possible."
Yang Mi hesitated and asked, "Mr. Ye, will you be alright on your own?"
Ye Bai smiled slightly. "It's fine, I've always been capable."
"Okay." Yang Mi nodded, then quickened her pace to head outside.
The moment she stepped out of the Passage, Yang Mi felt a buzzing in her head.
She looked up at the sky and immediately screamed, "Oh my god!"
In the pitch-black night sky, three blood-red moons were hanging. These blood-colored moons emitted an enchanting red glow, illuminating the entire valley in a scarlet hue.
At the same time, a hair-raising roar echoed from the depths of the Tomb Chamber, as if it were the angry howl of an ancient giant beast.
"Awooo—" This roar shook the entire Tomb.
All the Tomb Robbers were stunned by the sudden roar and couldn't help but stop in their tracks. They looked up at the mid-air, revealing expressions of horror.
Yang Mi was also terrified and frozen, not daring to go further inside, standing there at a loss.
Ye Bai suddenly said to Yang Mi, "Don't move!"
Yang Mi was stunned and said, "Mr. Ye, wh... what's wrong?"
Ye Bai did not answer her, but stared intently at the three blood-colored moons in the sky.
The next second, the blood-colored moons suddenly changed shape, transforming into a tall and burly phantom of a skeleton. The skeleton phantom's eyes glowed with an eerie light, looking down at everyone with a sense of lifelessness.
"Roar..." Another angry howl sounded. In an instant, a violent wind raged through the Passage, making it impossible for people to open their eyes.
Ye Bai narrowed his eyes, staring fixedly at the skeleton phantom, his eyes revealing a look of vigilance and caution.
"Roar..." A low, long, and angry howl suddenly echoed from the depths of the Tomb, as if some savage existence had awakened.
At the top of the Tomb, that coffin slowly rose, revealing the skeleton coiled up inside.
"Clatter—" The skeleton's mouth opened, emitting a roar that shook the entire Tomb Chamber.
"Rumble—" The Passage shook violently.
The skeleton in the Tomb Chamber finally opened its eyes.
It was shockingly a rotten, blood-dripping human skull!
In the eye sockets of that human skull, two balls of ghost fire flickered, filled with an aura of evil and violence.
"Ah—" "Mommy—" "Oh my god!" Near the entrance of the Tomb Chamber, that group of Tomb Robbers were panic-stricken, screaming repeatedly. They fled desperately, running frantically out of the Tomb Chamber and rushing into the Passage.
Meanwhile, Yang Mi's legs had already gone weak, and she collapsed to the ground, trembling uncontrollably, her face deathly pale.
Cold sweat seeped from Ye Bai's forehead.
"This guy... has finally woken up!" He muttered to himself, "Fortunately, I stopped Yang Mi just in time. Otherwise, she would have definitely triggered this guy's seal!"
Ye Bai's gaze fell on the skeleton.
"Who is this guy? How could he be lying in a place like this? And he seems to still be alive... The skin and flesh on his body have shriveled, but they still retain some traces of his lifetime; he looks like he should be a young man... There seems to be a sword beside him, this sword... whose relic is it left behind by?"
Ye Bai observed for a moment, then suddenly reached out his palm. He took down the broken Dagger.
"This blade seems to have slain many living beings before... And this blade... is very powerful! It's just that, because of severe damage, its power has been completely lost. However, even if only the most basic Materials remain, it is enough to refine a Magic Treasure! Perhaps I can try it out with this blade..."
After thinking for a moment, Ye Bai made a decision. He held the Dagger and closed his eyes. In an instant, a wisp of pale golden Soul Power floated out from Ye Bai's body and condensed into a shape. This wisp of soul was pale golden, blurry, and ethereal. Ye Bai injected pure Soul Power into the broken edge of the blade.
"Swish—" The blade was completely repaired. Ye Bai opened his eyes, revealing a look of joy.
"It is truly worthy of being an ancient Magical Artifact, to actually possess such a magical effect!"
He held the Dagger and waved it in front of him a few times; the speed was not fast, but it gave people a sense of sharpness and keenness.
"Although the grade is not high, it is definitely a good Material. I must make good use of it!"
Ye Bai put the Dagger into his robes, then looked at Yang Mi's position. Yang Mi was standing at the entrance, shivering, looking at the huge skeleton with a face full of fear.
"Let's go." Ye Bai said to her, "This thing is not something you can provoke; leave here quickly."
"Oh." Yang Mi came back to her senses and followed obediently behind him. Ye Bai took her and left this Tomb Chamber.
He took Yang Mi and took a detour back to the Passage, intending to first settle Yang Mi outside the cave. However, before he could find a suitable location, he heard a series of shrill, miserable screams. Yang Mi was so scared that she shrank into his arms.
"Don't be afraid." Ye Bai patted her shoulder.
"Wooo—" The screams became more frequent, sounding exceptionally sorrowful and desolate.
"Let's go over and take a look." Ye Bai said to Yang Mi.
"Okay." Yang Mi nodded. Ye Bai took Yang Mi and hurried toward the sound.
When he arrived at the source of the sound, he immediately frowned and thought to himself, "This is bad."
In front, those Tomb Robbers were all lying on the ground, bleeding from their seven orifices.
Behind them, a tall and burly humanoid skeleton stood quietly there. Its bones were like jade, hard and icy cold, emitting a thick Evil Qi.
Ye Bai recognized this skeleton; it was exactly the skeleton he had seen before!
This guy's strength was too powerful, even exceeding Ye Bai's imagination.
"Hiss—" The skeleton spat out a string of bubbles, emitting a hoarse and ear-piercing low moan that made one's scalp tingle.
"Are you all dead?" It asked.
This sentence made Ye Bai unable to help but gasp. This skeleton actually understood human language!
He hurriedly blocked Yang Mi behind himself and said, "Senior, please do not blame me. This junior only trespassed unintentionally and has no malicious intent."
The skeleton's gaze shifted to Ye Bai, cold and gloomy, "Since it was unintentional, then you shall accompany them on their journey!"
