389: The hidden Cloud Mist Ridge, its true location is actually here?!

Ye Bai and Yang Mi supported each other as they slowly walked inside.

"This underground palace is quite spacious and bright inside, but it's a bit eerie and terrifying," Fatty muttered to himself.

Ye Bai squinted, observing the surroundings, and said, "This place doesn't seem naturally formed. There appear to be traces of man-made excavation."

"What do you mean?" Fatty asked.

"Never mind what I mean. Just protect Yang Mi first and don't let her get hurt," Ye Bai said before stepping further inside.

This enclosed space was empty, clearly devoid of any mechanisms or hidden weapons. Thus, Ye Bai didn't need to worry too much about Yang Mi's safety.

"Hey! Mr. Ye, wait for me! What if I step on some hidden weapon and end up dead?" Fatty shouted from behind.

Ye Bai turned a deaf ear to Fatty's shouting, walking with steady steps toward the depths of the underground palace.

Yang Mi bit her lower lip and quickened her pace to keep up.

At this moment, the Live Stream Room had already exploded, with bullet comments rolling frantically:

"My god, this underground palace looks wicked. Sister Mi must be careful!"

"God Ye is as aloof as ever, but with him there, I feel safe."

"Fatty, don't hold them back! I'm curious what other secrets can be unearthed next!"

The number of viewers skyrocketed like a rocket, and the popularity soared to the top of the platform's rankings. Netizens stayed glued to their screens, hardly daring to blink, as if they were also inside that eerie underground palace.

Fatty grumbled as he caught up, intentionally taking large steps to make "thud thud" sounds to bolster his courage. "Hmph, Mr. Ye, you're not loyal enough. If something really happens in this ghostly place, I'll see how you handle it."

Ye Bai glanced at him and said coldly, "Cut the nonsense and focus. If there's real danger, your noisy chatter won't save your life."

Yang Mi hurried to smooth things over. "Alright, alright, let's be careful and finish exploring so we can get out."

Her gaze wandered around. In the dim light, faint carvings seemed to appear on the walls of the palace. She leaned in for a closer look and cried out, "Look, there seem to be drawings on this wall!"

Everyone gathered around. By the faint light of the flashlights, ancient and mysterious patterns were carved on the wall, appearing to be sacrificial scenes with distorted figures and eerie beast shapes.

The Live Stream Room was instantly flooded with bullet comments.

"These drawings look like a curse; it's so creepy!"

"I feel like the story behind this isn't simple. God Ye, hurry up and interpret them."

Ye Bai concentrated on studying them, his brow furrowing slightly. "It looks like some ancient tribal sacrificial totem. It might be related to the purpose of this underground palace—sacrifice or sealing are both possible. Everyone, don't touch anything recklessly."

Fatty swallowed hard and nodded repeatedly, instinctively moving further away from the wall.

Yang Mi continued to look and suddenly exclaimed in surprise, "Eh? Why does this scene look a bit familiar? It's like I've seen it somewhere."

Ye Bai and Fatty looked at each other, both seeing the surprise in the other's eyes.

"Could it be at..." Ye Bai suddenly remembered something.

He quickly took out his phone and searched for information regarding sacrificial scenes.

Soon, a series of information came into view: During the Southern Song Dynasty, a mysterious sacrificial team once appeared in the Jianghuai Mountains.

Their main area of activity was around Yunwu Ridge, dating back over five hundred years.

According to records, the team built altars in the deep valleys of the Yunwu Ridge area and moved all the villagers from nearby villages into Yunwu Ridge to live.

Yunwu Ridge is located in the south, at the junction with the northwest, belonging to the border of Yundian Province.

And in Yunwu Ridge, legend has it that an ancient ruin is buried, though the specific details have yet to be verified.

Years ago, Rabbit Country dispatched a professional team to survey Yunwu Ridge and discovered that there was indeed a giant cave in this mountain range containing ancient ruins. However, due to the Passage of time, many things had been completely destroyed.

Only some remaining stone carvings and sculptures indicated that the sacrificial activities of the past did indeed exist.

Among these stone carvings, one depicted the scene of Nüwa mending the heavens and Nüwa creating humans. The imagery was extremely impactful, leaving Ye Bai inexplicably shocked.

Additionally, in the Yunwu Ridge area, there is a grand complex of tombs belonging to the Southern Song imperial family.

But because too much time has passed, it has been completely destroyed, leaving no clues to find. Therefore, there is no way to know what exactly this tomb complex was used for.

Ye Bai turned off his phone screen and turned to instruct Fatty, "In a bit, the three of us will work as a group, with each person responsible for watching one area. If any unexpected situation occurs, contact each other immediately."

"No problem, Brother Ye, don't worry. I might be clumsy, but I'm definitely loyal. I'll surely take good care of Sister Mi."

Ye Bai smiled, ignoring his nonsense.

The three of them split into three groups, each occupying a different corner.

Fatty crouched alone by a stone step, looking around with a flashlight, alert for any possible traps.

Ye Bai and Yang Mi stood in the Passage leading to the innermost part, guarding against any danger that might appear at any time.

At this time, Yang Mi asked Ye Bai in a low voice, "Mr. Ye, why would there be such a strange underground palace here? I always feel it's not simple. How about we retreat?"

Ye Bai shook his head and said, "Observe for a while longer. I suspect this underground palace was designed by someone."

Hearing this, Yang Mi was even more shocked. "Could such a thing be a lie?"

Ye Bai said, "Why would I lie to you? Haven't you seen the structure of this palace? It's very special. This should be a type of Ancient Tomb, but for some unknown reason, it has taken on this half-human, half-snake form. I don't know what its original appearance looked like."

Yang Mi felt her skin crawl, and goosebumps broke out all over her body.

Ye Bai stretched his arms, limbered up, and moved slowly, his gaze scanning the surroundings.

Suddenly, his foot gave way; he had actually stepped into thin air.

He stopped immediately, only to see a narrow crack on the right side.

This crack was very narrow, only allowing one person to crawl through. Ye Bai tried to move his body, and just as he squeezed through, he suddenly heard a crisp "crack" sound.

"Not good, a secret Passage!"

Yang Mi was pale with fright. She quickly grabbed Ye Bai's arm and said, still shaken, "Mr. Ye, let's get out of here quickly!"

Ye Bai, however, calmed down instead. He patted Yang Mi's shoulder. "Don't be afraid. This underground palace has more than one path. Let's figure out the situation first before deciding whether to retreat."

Saying that, he bent down and crawled into that narrow, dark crack.

Yang Mi hesitated for a few seconds but finally steeled herself, gritted her teeth, and followed him in.

The two entered the dark tunnel, walking further and further.

Gradually, a thick smell of mold permeated the tunnel.

This smell was even more nauseating than the miasma outside. Yang Mi couldn't stand it, covered her nose, and coughed continuously. Ye Bai also frowned, enduring the stench as he walked with his head down.

The structure of this underground palace was quite complex. Ye Bai encountered several doors along the way.

Every time they pushed a door open, they could see a room full of white bones.

Some remains were relatively intact, while others were missing limbs or even had their heads displaced.
