131: Dimension Crystal Mine, Homecoming

The next morning.

The artillery fire, which had raged all night, finally ceased.

At the edge of the space node, still charred and smoky, Yang Dian and Lei Ming, whose injuries had mostly healed after treatment with special medicine, simultaneously fanned their noses, taking in the acrid air.

“How many Lizardmen died?”

“According to the smart AI, a total of 373,621 Lizardmen were killed.”

“Most of them were Four-Armed Lizardmen, a small portion were Six-Armed Lizardmen, and there were only 3 Eight-Armed Lizardmen.”

“Didn’t they say there were only a billion Lizardmen in total?”

“Did we deplete 0.3% of their fighting force in one night?”

Lei Ming shook his head:

“Perhaps in the Lizardmen’s concept, Four-Armed Lizardmen are just consumables and not considered their own kind, so they don’t care how many die.”

As he spoke, electric light flickered around Lei Ming:

“Never mind that, I’ll take you down first.”

With that, Lei Ming, an Incarnation of lightning, enveloped Yang Dian and pulled him into the space node.

The world stretched in an instant, turning into a distorted and eerie painting.

As if in a blink of an eye, the eerie painting disappeared again.

In its place was an incredibly quiet world.

From extreme stillness, to extreme motion, then back to extreme stillness.

The rapid change in vision made Yang Dian involuntarily retch twice.

“The difference between City-Level and Street-Level is too great, isn’t it?”

“The organization’s power classification is too unreliable.”

“Uncle Lei, if you wanted to destroy a city, the sonic boom from this speed alone would be enough, wouldn’t it?”

Lei Ming shook his head:

“Flying as an Incarnation of lightning at most just creates a loud noise. Besides scaring the timid to death, or those directly hit by the lightning, it wouldn’t cause much damage.”

“With my strength, destroying a small country or a small city abroad wouldn’t be a big problem.”

“But if it were in Huaxia…”

“One second you start a large-scale massacre, the next second you’ll be detected by Skynet, then locked onto by space-based weapons. There’d be nowhere to run.”

After briefly explaining how strict Huaxia’s protection against superhumans was, Lei Ming gestured towards the cave:

“Go take a look.”

Yang Dian took two steps forward and pushed aside the massive rock that served as a cover.

Then, the cave of the starlit, radiating Crystal Mine reappeared before his eyes.

“Skrr~”

The moment he pushed aside the rock, the Crystal Lizardman, who had been waiting for a long time, appeared before Yang Dian, meeting his gaze with an expression that suggested it wanted to devour him alive.

He instinctively took a step back.

Then Yang Dian realized that the Crystal Lizardman seemed to be bound by the cave.

It could not leave the cave.

Seeing this, he pointed at the cave:

“Uncle Lei, didn’t you see those Crystal Ore, and that Crystal Lizardman in the cave?”

Lei Ming poked his head in and looked around.

“There are Crystal Ore and Lizardmen inside?”

It was confirmed.

The things the two of them saw were not on the same dimensional plane.

Yang Dian bent down, made a snowball, and threw it hard at the Crystal Lizardman.

In Lei Ming’s eyes, the snowball instantly disappeared after entering the cave, then inexplicably turned into clumps of snow and flew back out of the cave.

The Crystal Lizardman in the cave seemed to have gained intelligence because of this.

It shattered a piece of radiating crystal and hurled it forcefully at Yang Dian.

However, its movements were so fast that Yang Dian didn’t even react.

But Lei Ming was by Yang Dian’s side.

Seeing the radiating crystal appear out of thin air, Lei Ming simply pointed his finger, condensing a thundercloud that enveloped the radiating crystal.

He then blocked the subsequent seven radiating crystals. Only when no more crystals flew out of the mine did he beckon to the thundercloud, taking the radiating crystal into his hand.

“There really is such a thing?”

“It really is as I guessed, the true Crystal Mine and the real world are in two different spatial dimensions?”

“I knew it, I’m the smartest!”

Watching Lei Ming act so haughtily, Yang Dian almost burst out laughing.

He was over fifty, how could he still be so abstract?

After chuckling twice to himself, Yang Dian thought about his return ticket:

“Uncle Lei, now that it’s confirmed the Crystal Mine vein hasn’t moved, it’s just that our current technology can’t exploit it, so shouldn’t we head back first?”

“My high-speed rail is at seven something.”

Lei Ming looked at Yang Dian:

“Are you really not staying here for a few days?”

As he spoke, the ground beneath them suddenly shook violently.

Amidst the roar, large swathes of accumulated snow, carrying massive rocks and solid ice, surged towards the two of them, obscuring the sky.

Yang Dian gestured towards the avalanche:

“The Alien Planet’s will is targeting me.”

“Whenever I appear on the Alien Planet, it’s either an avalanche or an earthquake, and maybe even a meteor shower.”

“Outside, anti-aircraft guns are fully set up, Lizardmen are instantly killed if they show their heads, so I’m not needed at all.”

“There’s also a lot of trouble back home recently, so I might as well go back.”

Lei Ming exhaled, and before the avalanche and debris could hit them, he took Yang Dian and flew into the space node, returning to Earth.

“Since you’ve said so, I won’t keep you.”

“Take the Unit-01 from the ward. It’s a gift from the organization to those of you who are willing to risk your lives to come and support.”

Yang Dian glanced at him sideways:

“Life-threatening danger?”

“It seems like at most people were injured this time, no one died, right?”

Lei Ming shrugged:

“Who knew the Alien Planet would be so weak?”

“You don’t even consider how many people were prepared to die for the country before coming.”

“Whether or not you encountered danger is one thing; whether or not you had the determination to sacrifice yourself for the country is another.”

“All in all, you deserve it.”

Yang Dian showed a simple, honest smile:

“Then, old man, could you find someone to help me mail the Unit-01 back?”

“Wearing a mecha on the high-speed rail would be a bit too conspicuous.”

“It’s not like you’re the only one wearing a mecha and walking around these past two days.”

“You brat, you’ve even learned to be low-key, you don’t even want a chance to show off…”

Laughing, Lei Ming patted Yang Dian’s shoulder, then waved his hand at him:

“Go, there’s a military vehicle at the entrance to take you to the high-speed rail station.”

“I’ll arrange for someone to send your Unit-01 to you.”

With that, he also transformed into a bolt of lightning, enveloping the collected radiating Ore, and vanished from Yang Dian’s sight.

After a series of disinfection and inspections, Yang Dian left the Walled City, carrying a briefcase.

As soon as he stepped out, a military vehicle stopped in front of Yang Dian.

Seeing Su Qinglian driving, he subconsciously raised an eyebrow.

“What, are you afraid to ride in my car?”

Facing Su Qinglian’s challenge, Yang Dian opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat.

“I’m afraid you’ll drive onto the elevated road and then just zip away, leaving only a shadow for me to drive.”

Su Qinglian’s eyes lit up:

“Good idea!”

“Damn it, don’t mess with me!”

“Hehe, I won’t, I won’t.”

“But only my girlfriend has ever sat in my passenger seat before. Dian Zi, you sitting in my passenger seat, are you confessing to me, wanting to be my girlfriend?”

“Big sister, can you not be so abstract?”

“Oh, you actually called me big sister, such an intimate address, you’re done for, you must have fallen in love…”

Yang Dian decided to ignore Su Qinglian.

Turning his head to look at the bustling traffic outside the window, Yang Dian’s gaze drifted again.

Although in his concept of time, he had only been away for a few days.

But his family had been worried about him for a long time, and the plum blossom in the backyard was about to bloom… He wondered if his family would like the surprise he brought back… And whether the flowers blooming on the Plum Tree would be heaven and earth treasures…
