330: The difference between Tao and Dao
Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the seven people on the steps unharmed.
“You Old Daoist, I’ve come all this way to save you, and this is how you talk to me?”
After speaking, he stepped back.
Confirming he couldn't leave the steps and sensing he couldn't use his Qi and blood power, Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau leaped to Yang Dian and the others in a few steps, looking at Yang Dian and saying:
“And you, even if you’re strong, you shouldn’t be so reckless.”
“Coming down as a team, finding the place, then going back to let the engineering department send engineering robots to dig through this place before rescue, isn’t that much safer than one person coming down?”
“Why are young people so impetuous?”
Yang Dian had to admit that Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau had a point.
Doing as he said would indeed maximize safety.
But the problem was that Old Daoist and the others might not last until then.
So he looked at Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau with a hint of amusement:
“Director Mo, you’re lecturing me, but you came down yourself too.”
Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau glared at Yang Dian:
“I am me, you are you.”
“My martial Dao has almost reached its end; no matter how much I Cultivate, it’ll be the same.”
“But you’re different.”
“Your usefulness if you survive is much greater than mine.”
“What’s there to argue about between you and me?”
Without waiting for Yang Dian’s reply, he turned to Old Daoist Qingfeng:
“How did you send things out before, and can you still send things out now?”
As soon as he finished speaking, the mist at the end of the steps suddenly began to surge.
Soon after, the mist parted, revealing the underground cavern beyond the steps.
Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau’s eyes widened:
“What’s going on?”
“Just now I couldn’t leave even if I wanted to, and now a single word lets us go?”
Yang Dian twisted his wrist:
“Because we are strong, the enemy is scared.”
“Because it’s scared, it doesn’t want to conflict with us and wants us to leave.”
Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau, having regained his senses, laughed:
“The more the enemy wants me to do something, the less I should do it.”
Old Daoist Qingfeng made a sword flourish before sheathing his sword, but his right hand remained on the scabbard:
“The more the enemy doesn’t want us to do something, the more we should do it.”
Yang Dian looked at Bai Zhi and the other five:
“You staying here won’t help much; go out first.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the mist that had just parted closed abruptly, shutting the path to the outside.
Seeing this, Yang Dian looked at Bai Zhi:
“It’s just as you said, that thing is very intelligent.”
“It analyzed our language system in such a short time.”
With that, he curled his fingers into a claw and fiercely ripped forward.
“Tear!”
Space seemed to be torn apart like paper, and a beam of light penetrated the spatial rift, illuminating this area that seemed to have never been blessed by sunlight.
“Woo woo~”
A low wailing sound came from the higher steps. Thinking of something, Yang Dian took out a mirror with his backhand and reflected the sunlight towards the source of the sound.
“Wah~~~”
A sound like a child crying suddenly rang out, and Little Black Cat also began to meow:
“Human, it won’t taste good if it’s cooked.”
Yang Dian rubbed Little Black Cat’s head, then inserted his fingers into the torn spatial rift and violently expanded it.
“Hiss!”
As the claw-shaped space expanded to two meters in diameter, Yang Dian gestured to Bai Zhi and the other five:
“Go out. When you’re out, remember to tell others we’re safe.”
Bai Zhi and the other five exchanged glances, nodded, and then unhesitatingly passed through the spatial rift, returning to the surface.
Yang Dian then looked at Old Daoist Qingfeng and Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau:
“Old Daoist, Director Mo, why don’t you two go out too?”
The Old Daoist began to puff up his beard and glare:
“Young Yang, are you looking down on me?”
“My sword has never been dull!”
As he spoke, he slightly drew his sword, and a wisp of pale white Sword Intent overflowed from the scabbard with the blade.
Yang Dian looked at the Old Daoist in surprise:
“Old Daoist, you can still use Sword Intent?”
Old Daoist Qingfeng also looked at Yang Dian in surprise:
“Isn’t Sword Intent just the condensation of one’s own will? I’m not dead, so why wouldn’t I be able to use Sword Intent?”
“Then why didn’t you let Bai Zhi throw a few more papers outside to explain the situation? You were just randomly hacking away there.”
“Was I just randomly hacking away? I was feigning weakness, preparing to give that thing a severe blow when it wasn’t paying attention.”
“As for not letting that girl Bai Zhi send messages out, it’s naturally because that little girl ran out of extraordinary power.”
As he finished speaking, both of them simultaneously turned to look at Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau.
Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau’s mouth twitched, then he let his biological armor cover his head, stomped his foot, and rushed towards the abnormal place he sensed.
“This old fellow is still so reckless.”
The Old Daoist pulled out his long sword, which emitted a pale white light like a light saber, with a “clang” and thrust it into the Void Realm:
“Young Yang, I’ll only teach you this move once.”
“Man and Sword as One!”
In a trance, the Old Daoist disappeared from Yang Dian’s sight, replaced by an incredibly sharp long sword that filled his entire vision, as if it could cleave heaven and earth.
“You Old Daoist, only you can do it?”
Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau clashed his hands together. Although he couldn’t use Qi and blood, the air around him still began to distort.
“Young Yang, I’ll also only teach you once!”
“Strike one punch to prevent a hundred punches!”
Beneath the heaven-cleaving, earth-shattering long sword, an ant-like figure roared to the sky, leaping up and throwing a self-sacrificing punch at the Void Realm.
A mayfly shaking a tree, an ant defying Heaven.
A pair of red iron fists were meant to overturn the old era’s tide and forge a new world.
Dao and principles intertwined, Fist Intent and will overlapped.
The two unreservedly imparted their understanding of the sword and the fist, as if they wished to break down every inch of their knowledge and thoughts and cram them into Yang Dian’s mind.
“Completely different from my understanding of rules, only focusing on developing one’s own spiritual belief to unleash power far exceeding oneself?”
“Old Daoist devotes his emotions to the sword, hence Man and Sword as One.”
“Director Mo places his faith in his fists, so he can deliver a punch with a hundred times his own strength.”
“Sword Intent, Fist Intent?”
“In a place where extraordinary power cannot leave the body, it’s indeed a good way to fight.”
After muttering a few words, Yang Dian, who had long since left a spatial projection of himself in place and whose body was already squeezed into the spatial interstice, arriving before Yue Shan, extended his right hand towards the blue chains binding Yue Shan.
The three had already communicated their battle plan with their eyes while muttering.
Old Daoist and Mo Yuntao, Director of the Martial Security Bureau would feign an attack to attract the ‘ghost’s’ attention.
Yang Dian would seize the opportunity to approach Yue Shan and rescue him.
This was to prevent the ‘ghost’ from acting desperately, dragging someone down with it in its dying throes.
“Clang!”
As the chain binding Yue Shan’s right hand was snapped by Yang Dian, Yue Shan, who had been lowering his head, imitating Jesus, raised his head and opened his blue-glowing eyes.
“Go!”
As Yue Shan’s furious roar fell, a roar seemingly containing endless resentment erupted from within him, pouring into Yang Dian’s mind like a demonic sound.
