258: Mirror Wolf

Yang Dian and Yue Shan, having finished contacting the logistics department, descended and approached the Mutant Lizard. They dragged it by its tail for a distance, pulling its head out of the river.

Although City-Level individuals have tenacious vitality, they will suffocate if they can't breathe oxygen continuously.

Having finally caught a live specimen, Yang Dian naturally wouldn't watch it drown.

After the Mutant Lizard's head left the great river, its eyeballs rotated, and a vertical pupil stared intently at Yang Dian and Yue Shan, who were standing behind and to its side.

Just as Yang Dian was about to curse at it with a laugh, he suddenly felt a chill down his spine, and an inexplicable sense of dread arose within him.

He abruptly turned his head to look behind him, then he shivered and cried out in alarm.

"Damn it!"

In the dense forest, a 'treeman stump' resembling a human figure was leaning over, facing him and Uncle Yue, and it was unclear if it was 'watching' them.

"Damn it!"

After cursing again, Yang Dian directly swung out his bloody hand, instantly pulverizing the treeman stump.

Yue Shan couldn't help but smile when he saw Yang Dian's actions:

"You're strong, kid, but you still need to train your courage."

Yang Dian didn't reply, only looking around cautiously:

"Uncle Yue, didn't you feel anything?"

Seeing Yang Dian's serious expression, Yue Shan also calmed his mind and began to sense carefully.

Then he shook his head:

"No."

"What did you sense?"

Yang Dian frowned:

"I always feel like something is watching us."

Yue Shan mused for a moment before saying:

"Is it that Mirror Wolf?"

The Mirror Wolf was originally an albino forest wolf from Shennongjia. After mutating, it gained the ability to travel through mirror space.

It was one of the five Beast King-level creatures of Shennongjia, and the only Beast King that did not die under artillery fire.

However, Yang Dian was certain that whatever was watching him was not the Mirror Wolf.

It was something else.

"It's not the Mirror Wolf," Yang Dian said with certainty, then paced to the side of the Mutant Lizard's head.

As soon as he stood still, a dark afterimage swept out from the Lizard's mouth, coiling towards his body.

"Not honest at all."

He mumbled, and a surge of Qi and blood appeared out of thin air deep within the Lizardmen's mouth, scraping around.

The black tongue, which had just attacked Yang Dian's side, suddenly lost control and plunged diagonally into the great river.

He reached out and grabbed.

The lively black long tongue was snatched by Yang Dian and placed where the Mutant Lizard's eyes could see it.

Then he conjured a large Qi and blood hand and patted the Mutant Lizard's head:

"Old Lizard~ I won't kill you, so behave yourself."

"Otherwise, I'll send you to the A-san's place, and you'll be a bride every night~"

Ignoring the Mutant Lizard's gaze, which seemed to want to devour him, Yang Dian took two more steps forward to the riverbank and spoke to the surging, turbulent river:

"Will you come out yourself, or wait for us to cut off the great river and force you out?"

As he finished speaking, the windbreaker fluttered, the water still flowed, and no changes occurred in the world.

Yang Dian raised an eyebrow. Just as he was about to act, the river water refracted dazzling sunlight.

Then, the light converged, and a giant wolf, with a bluish-white body, golden patterns, and golden glowing pupils, as if made of ceramic, emerged from the sunlight, stepping on the river water and walking before Yang Dian.

"Roar~"

The Mirror Wolf bared its teeth, arched its body, and let out a low growl in front of Yang Dian.

Yang Dian didn't understand beast language, but he could somewhat discern the emotions contained in the low growl.

It was essentially the 'beast race will never be slaves' sentiment.

So he reached into his spatial ring and pulled out an ice-blue lotus flower, holding it before the Mirror Wolf's eyes.

"Woof?" The moment it saw the lotus seed, the Mirror Wolf's eyes immediately crossed, staring intently at the lotus flower in Yang Dian's hand.

The malice in its eyes instantly dissipated, and its gaze became incredibly clear.

A moment later, realizing what was in Yang Dian's hand, it could no longer suppress its body's desire and directly opened its ceramic mouth, biting towards Yang Dian's right hand.

But before it could close its mouth, a bloody hand suddenly appeared, slapped the Mirror Wolf's mouth, and knocked it into the water.

"Ow~"

The Mirror Wolf, having lost a large tooth, roared in the water, then shot out of the water surface in front of Yang Dian, opening its mouth again to bite Yang Dian's right hand.

Then, it received another big slap from Yang Dian.

Then came the third, fourth, fifth time... until Yang Dian knocked out three of its wolf teeth, it gradually regained consciousness, standing inverted in the water's mirror space, baring its teeth at Yang Dian.

Of course.

Although it was baring its teeth at Yang Dian, most of its attention was still focused on the rare treasure blue lotus flower in Yang Dian's hand.

It seemed ready to bite off his right hand at any moment if Yang Dian wasn't paying attention.

Yue Shan, who had been watching Yang Dian, asked with some curiosity:

"Are you going to train it?"

Yang Dian nodded:

"This guy is quite beautiful. I'll try training it."

"If it really doesn't work, I'll lure it out and kill it, then take it back as a specimen."

After speaking, he took out a tablet and found a video on training police dogs.

Holding the tablet in front of the Mirror Wolf, which was hiding in the water's mirror space, Yang Dian immediately started playing the video.

"Sit!"

With a Policeman's command, the little police dog in the video promptly sat down.

Then the Policeman took out a specially made dog treat, offered it to the little police dog's mouth, and personally fed it.

After repeating the demonstration three times, Yang Dian put away the tablet, tore off a small, fingernail-sized lotus petal, and said to the Mirror Wolf:

"Sit."

The Mirror Wolf tilted its head in the mirror space, but in the end, it mimicked the little police dog and sat down.

Yang Dian showed a slight smile and released the small lotus petal.

The moment he let go, the Mirror Wolf rushed out of the mirror space, bit the lotus petal into its mouth, and narrowed its eyes contentedly.

A moment later, the small lotus petal was completely digested by the Mirror Wolf, and it once again looked at Yang Dian's right hand, beginning to stir restlessly.

Yang Dian smiled and said again:

"Sit."

The Mirror Wolf sat down as commanded, and Yang Dian again tore off a small petal, offering it to the Mirror Wolf's mouth.

The Mirror Wolf hesitated. This time, it didn't bite, but carefully extended its tongue to lick the petal from Yang Dian's palm.

Yang Dian's smile grew wider:

"Uncle Yue, look, isn't this effect quite good?"

Yue Shan stroked his chin, looking thoughtfully at the Mirror Wolf:

"I seem to be missing a mount..."

Yang Dian ignored Yue Shan, who had started pondering, and instead took out the tablet again.

This time, he didn't continuously repeat the video, but directly played the 10-minute video at four times speed, repeating it three times.

The intelligence of many Mutant creatures is no less than that of a child, and after a clever creature like a wolf mutates, its intelligence is even comparable to that of an ordinary person.

Yang Dian believed it could remember.

After playing the video, he put away the tablet again and said:

"Spin."

The Mirror Wolf hesitated for a moment, but finally spun in a circle where it stood, then wagged its tail like the little police dog, looking expectantly at Yang Dian.

Or perhaps, it was looking at the blue lotus flower in Yang Dian's palm.

Yang Dian smiled.

Just as he was about to tear off a lotus petal for it, he suddenly stopped, abruptly turning his head...
