653: People in the Dimensional Gap
Different worlds and different planets have different names for the Dimension Gap.
The Land of Endings, the Eternal Silent Abyss, the Ancient Void Chasm, the Planet Graveyard, the Sunken Nether Abyss, the Gap of No Return... In short, different civilizations have different names for the Dimension Gap, but their records of it are largely similar.
The Dimension Gap is where the remnants of shattered planets fall.
When two realms intersect, planetary debris can also fall from the Dimension Gap, bringing disaster or Opportunity to planets.
Beyond this, nothing else is known.
It's not that other civilizations haven't explored the Dimension Gap.
But everyone who entered the Dimension Gap never left it to return to the real world.
Without exception.
At least, this is true among known civilizations.
“Well, I'll be.”
“The Tiannan Star's Star Core must have gained sentience, right? It actually disguised the path to the Dimension Gap as a Dimension Channel leading to the Star Core Space, luring people into the Dimension Gap to kill them.”
Thinking this, Yang Dian pulled out the Dimension Butterfly and flicked it again:
“And you, little thing.”
“Didn't you say there was no danger in here?”
The Dimension Butterfly blinked, then flew two circles in the colorful channel that could shift the perception of living beings.
It was telling Yang Dian with its actions that this place truly had no danger.
Yang Dian raised an eyebrow at this:
“Alright.”
“I'll concede that you, little thing, make sense.”
Yang Dian's heart involuntarily twitched as he looked around the colorful channel, which even caused him a slight sense of dizziness after staring at it for too long.
What was his current strength?
Star Remains Realm! Likening a human body to a planet!
Yet, with such strength, he only stared at the colorful channel for a while and felt dizzy.
Isn't that outrageous?
He shook his head to clear the dizziness from his mind.
Focusing his senses, he found that everything around him was a blur of Chaos, making it impossible to distinguish up, down, left, or right, and he couldn't find his way back. So Yang Dian said to the Dimension Butterfly again:
“Open a door and send me back.”
Yang Dian knew that there must be many secrets hidden within the Dimension Gap, perhaps even unimaginable Opportunities and wealth.
But he also believed that the Dimension Gap contained countless dangers, some of which even he would find difficult to resist.
His strength wasn't stagnant; it could still grow.
Tiannan Star, Emerald Dragon Star, and others awaited his harvest.
There were also three planets in the Azurewave Star System waiting for him to conquer.
The Great Yu Celestial Emperor was currently locking onto coordinates of other planets, waiting to join forces with him to seize their Star Core Origin.
Even Niu Ru Ren's side had over a dozen planets, whose Spiritual Qi revival status was unknown, waiting for him to investigate one by one.
He had no need to risk himself in a treacherous place like the Dimension Gap, which harbored unknown dangers.
If he truly wanted to explore the Dimension Gap, wouldn't it be more satisfying to finish the tasks above, raise his strength, and then come back to try and obliterate the Dimension Gap in one go?
In front of Yang Dian, the Dimension Butterfly, hearing his command, trembled slightly with its wings.
Then a bright silver mirror appeared before Yang Dian.
On the other side of the mirror was the small canyon at the foot of Mount Zhahe, Tiannan Star's highest peak.
‘Good thing.’
‘Good thing I have the Dimension Butterfly to return safely, otherwise I'd be like those who entered the Dimension Gap, gone without a trace.’
Amidst his thoughts, Yang Dian stepped forward with his right foot.
But strangely, he intended to step forward with his right foot and enter the spatial gate to Tiannan Star.
However, he actually stepped out with his left foot.
But instead of stepping forward, his left foot moved diagonally, causing him to brush past the spatial gate and walk deeper into the Dimension Gap.
‘Here we go again.’
Stopping, Yang Dian looked down at the spatial gate a step away and instinctively narrowed his eyes.
When he first entered the Dimension Gap, Yang Dian had experienced this loss of control, where he wanted to control his right foot to retreat, but his body stepped out with his left foot to advance.
Later, after adapting to the Dimension Gap's environment for a while, his body returned to his control, and he thought this state of being out of control had ended.
He didn't expect it to reappear now.
He once again surveyed the murky, seemingly undifferentiated Dimension Gap, and a sudden realization dawned on Yang Dian.
“So that's how it is.”
He wondered why not a single one of the countless people who entered the Dimension Gap ever returned.
Those planetary remnants that fell into the Dimension Gap could only be drawn towards a planet by the special gravitational forces generated when planets overlapped.
All of this, perhaps, was due to the special 'rules' at play within the Dimension Gap.
“Entering the Dimension Gap will lead to assimilation by the Dimension Gap.”
“Unless affected by external forces, the rules within the dimension space will 'interfere' with the living beings who enter it, preventing them from leaving the dimension space.”
“This is also why, apart from falling planetary remnants, it is difficult to see other living beings emerge from the Dimension Gap in the real world.”
Thinking of this, Yang Dian pondered.
It seemed that, including records from other civilizations, apart from those creatures that fell into planets along with planetary remnants and thus left the Dimension Gap, the only one who truly left the Dimension Gap by its own ability was a Heavenly Dao Ghost?
“What a Heavenly Dao Ghost, to dare conceal the information that it's almost impossible to leave after entering the Dimension Gap.”
“Upon returning, a severe punishment awaits.”
What? How to return?
Yang Dian was no ordinary person.
Or rather, he possessed a butterfly that did not fall into the category of ordinary creatures.
“Butterfly, at %&$%&*...”
Listening to the gibberish that seemed to hold no meaning coming from his mouth, Yang Dian fell silent.
“It seems it's really not easy to leave this damned place.”
Amidst his thoughts, Yang Dian communicated with the Dimension Butterfly through his consciousness.
“Open a spatial gate beneath my feet and let me fall directly into it to leave this damned place.”
Although the Dimension Gap could interfere with one's actions, it could not interfere with one's thoughts.
As Yang Dian's thought reached the Dimension Butterfly's mind, the spatial gate beside him vanished, and a new spatial gate appeared beneath Yang Dian's feet.
But then something that left Yang Dian speechless occurred.
The spatial gate was right beneath his feet, but the Dimension Gap's gravity system seemed to be broken.
He just floated above the spatial gate, unable to fall through.
“How outrageous~”
Just as he was about to instruct the Dimension Butterfly to push him, Yang Dian suddenly turned his head and looked diagonally upwards.
And just as he cast his gaze diagonally upwards, a figure tore through the colorful world, seemingly sweeping with a myriad of rainbow lights, appearing before Yang Dian's eyes.
‘Huh, wasn't that colorful stuff earlier the walls of a Dimension Channel? When did it expand into a world boundary?’
‘When did the channel expand, or rather, when was my perception affected again?’
Just as he was marveling at the wonders of the Dimension Gap, the figure arriving with a myriad of rainbow lights also discovered Yang Dian's presence.
Then a voice, filled with both despair and surprise, rang out from her mouth:
“Senior, help!!!”
