713: Waste snacks

After spinning in mid-air and landing beside Yang Dian, Yang Lele, who was tiptoeing to hook her arm around his shoulder, curved her eyes into crescent moons and said with a beaming smile:

"The Earth has been spinning slower and slower these past two years. By actual age, I'm still not even 20 years old."

"And, and, according to the conclusions drawn by the Research Institute from their cell studies, as long as one Cultivates Qi Blood, the rate of cell aging will decrease, and the theoretical lifespan, without illness or disaster, will be 120 years."

"Upon reaching the Qi Blood Smoke Realm, the theoretical lifespan can reach 180 years."

"Grandmasters are even more incredible. With a slight interference of Mental Energy in reality, and the body receiving nourishment from Mental Energy, the theoretical lifespan can reach 500 years."

"Compared to the old age ratio, I'm still just a 5-year-old kid sister!"

"You're already a child. What's wrong with acting like one?"

Hearing Yang Lele's theory, Yang Dian couldn't help but flick her on the head:

"A kid sister who can shatter a street with a casual punch, and in the old society, could flatten a large city with a bit of effort?"

"Also, you said one thing wrong."

"A theoretical lifespan of 500 years was in the old era, before the Earth's mass increased."

"Now, one Earth day is equivalent to three old era days, so that 500-year figure needs to be discounted; it's only 166 years."

"Compared to the old society's timeline, you should be eleven or twelve by now. It's time to be sensible."

"I don't care," Yang Lele habitually nudged Yang Dian's arm with her head:

"I'm a baby!"

"Alright, alright, you're a baby, is that enough?"

After poking Yang Lele's head twice without success, Yang Dian was about to complain when Fan Yi Mao (Translator Cat) spoke first, becoming his mouthpiece:

"Humans, human skin is getting thicker and thicker. In the cat world, half-year-old kittens have to learn to hunt by themselves. Humans are already so big, yet they still say they are babies. Humans just don't want to hunt!"

Yang Dian and Pei Sisi burst into laughter at the Little Black Cat's incredibly serious words.

Yang Lele released her embrace of Yang Dian, reached over his shoulder, snatched the Little Black Cat, and started shaking it wildly by its armpits.

"Ah ah ah ~ Haji Hei, you infuriating fellow! I was so good to you when you were little, feeding you delicious food every day, and even secretly letting you lick catnip a couple more times. If I had known, I shouldn't have bothered with you, I should have thrown you into a stinking ditch!"

The Little Black Cat dangled like a noodle in Yang Lele's hands, but its mouth kept chattering:

"Humans, even if you throw the cat into a stinking ditch, humans will still come to rescue the cat..."

"Humans, you don't understand the bond between cats and humans!"

After bickering for a while, Yang Lele stroked the Little Black Cat, which was lying on its back in her arms, purring, and letting her pet it however she pleased. She then said:

"Big brother, why do you have time to come to The Extremes to find me today?"

Then she put her hands on her hips again:

"Before, you passed by Earth many times, but you never came to see me even once."

"Who told you to run so far?" Yang Dian gave Yang Lele a sidelong glance:

"What, there's no place for you to Cultivate in the country? You just had to run to The Extremes to prove how capable you are."

Yang Lele sighed:

"Of course there's a place for me to Cultivate in the country."

"But the 'dangerous places' in the country are just artificially designated dangerous places."

"The environment seems harsh, but in reality, it's very safe."

"Once danger is encountered, support from Machina, the Special Administration Bureau, and the Martial Security Bureau will arrive immediately."

"Training in the country, I simply can't experience that thrilling rush of adrenaline between life and death."

Yang Dian poked Yang Lele's forehead:

"So you think running to The Extremes will allow you to experience that thrilling rush of adrenaline between life and death?"

With a flick of his finger, a wisp of flame rose from Yang Dian's fingertip, transforming into a reverse meteor and flying towards the sky.

"Boom ~"

As the flame exploded, a deafening roar erupted from the air, and three star destroyers, large enough to blot out the sky, appeared from the darkness. Their mirror-smooth hulls reflected the blazing inferno spreading out in a ring.

"You're my sister. If you run outside and might encounter dangerous situations, the organization can't possibly not provide you with any protective measures."

"Don't tell me you don't know this."

Yang Lele's shoulders drooped a little dejectedly:

"Of course I know."

"But I didn't see them before, so even if I knew, I could pretend not to know."

"Big brother, why did you have to say it? If you hadn't, I could still lie to myself..."

After muttering for a while, Yang Lele, somewhat disheartened, walked behind Yang Dian and bumped her head against the spine between his shoulder blades:

"Big brother, do you think I'm useless?"

"I took so many resources from you, and you personally taught me the Martial Dao, and I even contracted a Battle Intent Rune..."

"But in the Martial Arts Competition, I ended up in last place."

"Big brother, do you think I'm especially useless?"

"It depends on who you compare yourself to." Hearing Yang Dian's words, Yang Lele subconsciously looked up.

She thought her big brother would comfort her, then lavish her with resources, so she could win back in the next Martial Arts Competition.

'It depends on who you compare yourself to'—what the hell was that?

Did her big brother not love her anymore?

Ignoring Yang Lele, whose pupils were wide with shock and whose face screamed 'Big brother, you've changed,' Yang Dian continued:

"If you compare yourself to me, you really can't."

"Your big brother, I, can now seriously punch a planet to pieces, and even a casual punch can sink a continent."

"If you compare yourself to me, you really can only be considered a useless little snack."

"But what about compared to others?"

"Most people, after experiencing six Spiritual Qi tide feedbacks, are still stuck in the Mortal Body Realm, not having stepped into the Transcendent Realm."

"Even those with outstanding Aptitude, many have Cultivated for decades but are still stuck in the Qi and Blood Wolf Smoke Realm."

"Compared to these people, your Aptitude is quite good."

"Also, look at who can advance to Martial Arts Grandmaster at this current stage?"

"Except for a few lucky individuals who, by chance, stepped into Martial Dao Level 6, which one didn't fight their way out of piles of dead bodies?"

"How many years have you been practicing martial arts? Have you experienced true life-and-death battles?"

"Losing to those seasoned Martial Artists is normal."

"Don't be so discouraged."

"You lost the last Martial Arts Competition; just win it back next time."

Yang Lele nodded vigorously:

Although her big brother's words were similar to what her parents said to comfort her, she always felt that her big brother's words were more convincing:

"Big brother, I will work hard!"

Yang Lele was no longer dejected, but the Little Black Cat in her arms was being squeezed so hard it was rolling its eyes:

"Humans, are you trying to choke the cat to death and hog all the human's affection?"

Yang Lele let go and poked the Little Black Cat's belly:

"You ungrateful little thing, yes, I'm going to choke you to death."

The Little Black Cat 'whooshed' away into Yang Dian's arms:

"Humans, look at this human, bullying the cat!"

Yang Dian chuckled, stroked the cat a couple of times, then said to Yang Lele:

"Stop bullying the cat. This time I came to see you, and also have other things I need your help with..."
