380: It's that simple
“No, there has never been a contradiction.”
The Blind Nuns' words sounded incredibly sincere:
“It is precisely because we can Dominator our own bodies and wills that we can freely choose whether or not to believe in a god.”
“And not like it is written in the Bible, where we can only believe in that Dominator.”
“A true savior is the Dominator worth following, the Dominator whose ideas are worth enacting.”
“Before this, our world had no Dominator, so we covered our eyes with black silk, consigning our faith to darkness.”
“But when true divinity descends, He will become the light that illuminates our dark world.”
“We have actually been waiting for the true divine to descend, to spread His sacred radiance across the world.”
Yang Dian couldn't quite understand the Blind Nuns' way of thinking.
It was like how he couldn't understand why the caste system still existed in India in the 21st century, or why Thai citizens still knelt before the Thai King.
They could already Cultivate; if they continued to Cultivate, their own strength would sooner or later be comparable to a deity.
Why did they still need to find a faith to rely on?
“So I somehow became a candidate for your deity?”
Agatha shook her head slightly:
“As long as you can save the world, you are a worthy god.”
Yang Dian, who couldn't understand the Blind Nuns' way of thinking, decided not to argue with her anymore.
“Let's go, let's meet your prophet.”
“The drastic change in your attitude, both before and after, must be because of your prophet, right?”
Agatha bowed her head in admission:
“It was indeed the prophet who saw you and then said you would be the god who saves the world.”
As she spoke, she turned sideways:
“Please follow me, I will take you to see the prophet.”
Yang Dian waved his hand, using his magnetic field to lift the Blind Nuns:
“You walk too slowly, I'll take you directly.”
“But what if the Machina discover us…” Agatha hadn't finished her sentence when she sensed over a dozen familiar life forces appear around them.
‘Uh?’
‘Is it like before, suddenly leaving one place and appearing in another?’
‘And appearing precisely within the secret courtyard.’
‘It's as if he knows everything, can do anything.’
‘The magnificent power that only deities are said to possess.’
As Yang Dian brought Agatha across space and into the secret courtyard of the Blind Sisters Order, the Blind Nuns, who were blindfolded, their heads together, whispering something, all looked up at Yang Dian's location.
“What a magnificent life force.”
“The prophet was right, only a god could possess such a magnificent aura, right?”
“Is this our god? Should I remove the blindfold and engrave the image of God deep within my Soul?”
“No, Tina, he hasn't saved the world yet, he's not our god yet…”
Amidst the whispers of the Blind Nuns, the only Blind Nuns in the secret courtyard who wasn't blindfolded with black silk, and who exuded a mature charm, stood up from kneeling before a faceless statue and surveyed the Blind Nuns.
The Blind Nuns, though unable to see, seemed to feel the Blind Nuns' gaze and quickly fell silent.
“Agatha, take your sisters to the quiet room to pray.”
“Yes, Helena.”
As Agatha left with the Blind Nuns, Helena turned to Yang Dian:
“You have finally arrived, esteemed guest from the East.”
Yang Dian curiously sized up Helena.
But before he could speak, Helena spoke first:
“Do you find me different from what you imagined?”
Yang Dian nodded:
“Indeed, you are different.”
“From Agatha's words and actions, I thought you would treat me as a god.”
“But you seem to clearly know that I am still a human.”
Helena seriously repeated something Agatha had said earlier:
“Our world has no god.”
“I know this clearly.”
After saying that, she continued:
“It's just that I understand even more that to continue to have the right to survive on Earth, we must believe in you as our new god.”
Yang Dian was a little confused.
But remembering that Agatha referred to Helena as the prophet, he thought of something:
“Did you foresee something?”
Helena shook her head:
“I cannot predict.”
“I can only ‘see’ things that have happened in the past or are happening now.”
Facing Yang Dian's curious gaze, she explained:
“After the surge of magic, I gained a very mysterious ability.”
“I can ‘see’ certain things that are closely related to me and deduce some things from them.”
“Just like I just saw the Princess of England communicating with you, begging you to send reinforcements to help England.”
“From that, I deduced two possibilities.”
“One is that you agree to help her, and the other is that you refuse to help her.”
“Both are possible, and I subconsciously assumed the worse outcome for us, which is that you would choose to abandon Paris and send those Chinese warriors to England.”
“That's why I told Agatha to abandon the plan to ambush the Machina Quantum Center and instead told her that you had the potential to become a new god, and to go find you.”
“However, it's clear that my deduction was wrong.”
“Things are moving along a different trajectory.”
Yang Dian raised an eyebrow:
“It seems your title of ‘prophet’ isn't very reliable either.”
Helena wasn't embarrassed:
“Prophet is just a respectful term Agatha and those young girls use for me.”
“Actually, I don't have the ability to predict the future.”
“It's just that I deduced a few correct options, which is why they call me a prophet.”
Yang Dian nodded, then asked with some curiosity:
“Then why did you tell them that if I save the world, I will be the new god?”
Helena smiled:
“Because you are strong enough.”
Yang Dian was stunned:
“That's it?”
Helena nodded as if it were obvious:
“Yes, that's exactly why.”
“The future is incredibly dangerous.”
“Agatha and her sisters are too weak.”
“They can't even handle the Machina crisis, and most of them aren't even as strong as the warriors under your command who wear bio-armor.”
“Only by letting them believe in you, wholeheartedly devote themselves to you, and receive your protection, will they have a chance to survive.”
“It's as simple as that…”
