610: Lao Bai: They are all cheating, why do you think you are a pervert?
Dr. Bai twitched his mouth, looking at Yang Dian, who was standing in front of the Planet Destroyer Cannon about to fire, still nitpicking with him.
“The Fusion Planet Destroyer Cannon is different from ordinary Planet Destroyer Cannons.”
“The Fusion Planet Destroyer Cannon is an attack that can only be launched by multiple star destroyers working together; it gathers the energy of multiple star destroyers.”
“Especially now, it has already gathered most of the internal energy from six star destroyers.”
“This energy either forms a magnetic field giant cannon to converge energy, or it becomes the ‘shell’, ready to be fired.”
“This is a do-or-die attack, much like your Martial Artists’ technique of ‘Heaven and Earth Together’.”
“Once the energy accumulation of the cannon exceeds 50%, there is no possibility of retraction.”
“Either it fires, or the magnetic field becomes chaotic, unable to restrain the gathered energy, causing the accumulated energy to directly self-destruct.”
“Ordinary Planet Destroyer Cannons don’t have these problems.”
“They can fire when they want and stop when they want.”
After explaining that his cannon was fine, Dr. Bai pointed to the far distance again:
“The effective attack range of the Planet Destroyer Cannon is 100 million kilometers. To be safe, why don’t you wait for the bombardment 100 million kilometers away?”
Feeling the vague sense of threat coming from the direction of the ‘magnetic field giant cannon’, Yang Dian pondered for a while, then took two steps back, moving out of the cannon’s attack range:
“What you said makes sense.”
“A direct hit from the giant cannon does seem prone to accidents. I’ll just wait on the side.”
“When it fires, I’ll reach out and grab a bit, just to feel its intensity.”
Lao Bai was about to nod, but the sudden alarm in the laboratory startled him.
“What’s wrong?”
Feeling that Lao Bai was somewhat off, Yang Dian subconsciously asked:
“What happened?”
Dr. Bai’s expression was rather grim:
“Earth is experiencing another Spiritual Qi tide.”
Yang Dian’s pupils constricted.
There are only three known reasons for a Spiritual Qi tide to occur.
The first is the observation of a ‘space-folding phenomenon,’ activating quantum-state Spiritual Qi, thus causing the first Spiritual Qi tide.
The second is a planet performing a Dimensional overlap as an aggressor, which can also cause a Spiritual Qi tide across the world.
The third is the end of Dimensional folding, with the planet achieving victory in the Dimensional War, thus fulfilling the requirements for the third Spiritual Qi tide.
Conversely, if a planet fails in a Dimensional War, the world will suffer a backlash, Spiritual Qi concentration will decrease to some extent, or the planet will simply shatter and fall into the Dimensional rift.
Earth had just undergone the second Spiritual Qi tide after Fusion with the Strange Star.
Not much time had passed, so why was there another Spiritual Qi tide?
“What is the reason for this Spiritual Qi tide?”
Dr. Bai glanced at Yang Dian, then said:
“Two spatial nodes have appeared in Hangzhou’s West Lake and the Tibetan region’s Tianshan Mountains.”
“The spatial nodes will stabilize in three hours.”
As his voice faded, both fell silent again.
After a long while, Yang Dian spoke:
“Lao Bai, do you feel like Earth is a bit off?”
“You’ve noticed it too,” Dr. Bai said, countless streams of information flashing in his eyes:
“I’ve compared Earth’s situation with other worlds, and I’m certain Earth is special.”
“Although other worlds also have cases of Awakening talents, regardless of Spiritual Qi concentration, those with Awakened talents are extremely rare.”
“Furthermore, the Strange Beast and Spirit Beasts in other worlds do not exhibit Bloodline atavism.”
“The Strange Beast and Spirit Beasts in those worlds must rely entirely on their own Cultivation to become stronger.”
“And unless they achieve success in Cultivation and can freely change their form, they will remain the same as they were at birth.”
“At most, some extraordinary organs might mutate within their bodies.”
“How is that like our Earth?”
“Giant pythons become Flood Dragons, golden scales transform into Dragons; even ordinary Dragons, after mutation and atavism, can grow wings and become Divine Beasts or Strange Beast from myths and legends.”
“So, I speculate that a tremendously powerful mythical civilization must have existed in Earth’s history.”
At this point, he shook his head slightly:
“That’s not quite right.”
“It should be said that our ancestors must have been a tremendously powerful mythical civilization.”
“After all, we might not be indigenous to Earth; we could have migrated from other planets.”
“Just as we don’t put all our eggs in one basket, we are also sending seeds of civilization to other planets.”
Yang Dian nodded slightly, just about to say that Lao Bai thought the same as him, when two gentle golden lights suddenly lit up to their left and right, in the center of the 12 star destroyers.
Turning his head to look at the golden light streaking past him and heading into the depths of the Universe, Yang Dian couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
Seeing Yang Dian captivated by the Planet Destroyer Cannon, Lao Bai immediately followed up:
“Within 50 million kilometers, the Planet Destroyer Cannon operates like this.”
“All energy is confined within the magnetic coils, with only a slight light escaping, resulting in almost zero loss.”
“But beyond 50 million kilometers, that’s not possible.”
“Once it exceeds 50 million kilometers, the magnetic coils will collapse, and the Planet Destroyer Cannon will destroy everything around it.”
Yang Dian nodded silently, then suddenly stretched out a hand and directly inserted it into the energy track of the Planet Destroyer Cannon.
As a “hissing” sound rang out, Dr. Bai’s pupils violently constricted.
Yang Dian seemed completely oblivious to this; he even had the leisure to comment:
“As I said before, the Planet Destroyer Cannon’s energy isn’t concentrated enough.”
“Perhaps it can be used to destroy planets, but against Martial Artists or immortal Cultivators of the same Rank, it still lacks something.”
“My current strength is roughly at the early stage of Star Remains Realm, at most just entering the middle stage, yet your Planet Destroyer Cannon, capable of annihilating a diameter of 30,000 kilometers, cannot affect me in any way.”
At this point, Yang Dian, fearing Lao Bai might be sad, couldn’t help but rephrase his words:
“Uh, it’s not entirely without any effect.”
“If I were within the Planet Destroyer Cannon’s attack range, the consumption of my Qi and blood would still be considerable.”
After making amends, Yang Dian looked at the giant craters that had formed on the ground where some golden energy had overflowed due to the slight magnetic field disruption caused by his sudden hand, exploding upon impact.
“Also, the magnetic coils need improvement.”
“Lao Bai, when you designed the Planet Destroyer Cannon, you only considered confining the energy within the magnetic field, not interference from external forces.”
“If no precautions are taken, a full-strength attack from an ordinary Star Dome Realm early stage Martial Artist could shatter the magnetic field and detonate the energy.”
“Once the energy explodes, the star destroyer would also explode.”
“It might also cause other effects.”
Dr. Bai looked at the craters on the ground, then at the golden energy that Yang Dian had intercepted after the first golden energy exploded, and finally at Yang Dian’s hand still in the Planet Destroyer Cannon’s energy track, eventually falling silent.
‘This is just freakish!’
‘They’re all cheats, is the gap between technology and Martial Dao really that big?’
‘No, I need to find a way to develop even more powerful war technology...’
