145: Talented, rat swarm, big stone life

With another 'crack' of bones breaking, Clayton swayed before collapsing to the ground.

Soon after, crimson blood seeped from his seven orifices, clearly indicating a massive brain hemorrhage, leaving his survival uncertain.

Yang Dian nudged the fallen Clayton, who still maintained his five-meter height, and frowned.

“Even after using his Awakening ability to giant-size his body, does he maintain this Physique even when unconscious or dead?”

“This Physique, this strength…”

“He truly possesses block-level strength.”

“It's a shame his speed is a weakness.”

“If he could practice a movement technique, and then a body-hardening technique, or achieve Hun Yuan Strength to integrate his entire body's Qi…”

“I can’t even imagine, truly, I can’t…”

“Physique-type Awakened are truly blessed by nature.”

Amidst his emotion, a little girl in a beige dress secretly ran up to Yang Dian.

“Big Brother, are you Ultraman, fighting a big monster?”

Yang Dian paused, glanced at the somewhat timid crowd around him, and picked up the little girl, who was only three or four years old:

“Big Brother isn’t Ultraman, Big Brother is a Policeman, and he isn’t a big monster; at most, he’s a small monster.”

The little girl blinked, pointing to the wrecked beige minivan nearby:

“Then, Policeman Uncle, you broke Mianmian’s little fatty when you were fighting. Will you buy Mianmian a new one?”

Following the little girl’s finger, Yang Dian saw the Wuling Hongguang with its engine embedded in a flowerbed, and he couldn’t help but tap the little girl’s nose:

“Of course.”

“Later, Uncle will have someone take you to buy a new car.”

“But can you tell Uncle where your adults are? How did you come here alone?”

The little girl put her hands on her hips and said:

“Mommy is working at the hotel, and Mianmian was playing with Grandpa Security Guard.”

“Mianmian saw you broke Mianmian’s little fatty, so she ran over.”

No sooner had the little girl finished speaking than a girl in a waitress uniform rushed over to Yang Dian in a panic.

She looked at the little girl in Yang Dian’s arms and the five-meter giant lying dead beside him, and she trembled as she opened her mouth, unable to say anything.

Her panicked expression could have been a textbook example for the Beijing Film Academy.

Handing the little girl, who was joyfully calling “Mommy,” back to the girl, Yang Dian then pulled out his Special Administration Bureau ID and showed it to her:

“Yang Dian, First-Grade Policeman, Huaxia Abnormal Affairs Administration.”

“I accidentally damaged your car while dealing with an abnormal affair just now. I will arrange for someone to buy you a new one later.”

The not-so-tall girl, holding an even smaller girl, opened her mouth and finally managed to squeeze out “Thank you.”

Looking at the nervous girl, Yang Dian sighed, then pinched the little girl Mianmian’s nose:

“Take Mianmian aside; it’s a bit dusty here, which isn't good for a little girl.”

“Okay.” The girl responded and then staggered away, holding the little girl.

Yang Dian then waved to Shi Sheng, who had just rushed over:

“Brother Shi, over here.”

Shi Sheng stopped his blue electric scooter beside Yang Dian and kicked Clayton, who was lying on the ground, unconscious and possibly dead:

“Holy crap, he’s so big?”

“Why is he like the Hulk!”

“After all, it’s a talent called Giant-size. If he didn't make himself bigger, how could he live up to the 'giant' in his name?”

“But his strength is much weaker than the Hulk’s.”

With that, Yang Dian leaped up, directly jumping back from the ground to the smashed wall on the 9th floor.

Soon after, he returned to the ground, carrying Charles, Romu, and Benjamin, and tossed them onto Clayton.

“Everyone is here. That last mission can finally be considered… finished.”

Before he could finish speaking, a sudden whooshing sound attacked.

Turning to look at the Night Owl, who had bared its sharp claws at him, Yang Dian smiled.

“This little thing still knows how to protect its master.”

He extended his right hand and grabbed the Night Owl by the neck.

Yang Dian immediately raised his hand and delivered a powerful slap to the Night Owl’s forehead.

“Goo?”

The Night Owl’s fierce eyes gradually cleared. Yang Dian then tore off the tattered clothes from Clayton’s body and used them to tie the Night Owl’s legs and wing roots.

Then he patted its head again:

“Behave.”

“If you don’t behave, I’ll kill you and make soup.”

“Goo~~”

The Night Owl padded over to Romu, rubbed against him twice with its head, and seeing no reaction from Romu, it burrowed under Romu’s arm, revealing a pair of timid little eyes looking at Yang Dian.

“Tsk, those little eyes.”

“It makes me look like some heinous villain.”

Saying that, Yang Dian glared at the Night Owl again:

“Close your eyes.”

“Goo~” The intelligent Night Owl let out a low cry and buried its entire body under Romu.

A moment later, a continuous “woo-woo-woo” sound drifted over.

But before the distant Policeman cars could arrive, a large amount of rustling and crawling sounds came from the nearby sewers.

Yang Dian’s eyes narrowed as he thought of something, and he looked at the surrounding crowd:

“Run if you don’t want to die!”

The people around him froze, and a few energetic young men opened their mouths, about to say something.

But before they could speak, a sewer manhole cover not far from Yang Dian suddenly flew up, and a rat, half the size of a human, with dark purple fur and blood-red eyes, leaped out of the opened sewer and onto the surface.

Seeing Romu, half-dead, lying on Clayton, its already blood-red eyes became even redder:

“Squeak~~”

A rat’s cry, like a bugle call for the entire army to appear.

Countless rats, the size of wild cats, surged out of the sewers, their eyes red, drooling, rushing towards Yang Dian like a black tide. (There's a picture, it's a bit creepy, I've put it in the comments.)

“Damn it!”

“How can there be so many big rats in the sewers?”

Yang Dian, who had been afraid of rats since childhood, felt his hairs stand on end. His Qi, which he hadn't fully unleashed even when fighting Clayton, surged into the sky, directly knocking over the approaching large rats.

The crowd, who had been watching from a distance, screamed and roared, as if not doing so wouldn't release their fear.

The ferocious Rat King, which hadn't noticed them before, turned its head and glanced at them when it heard their commotion, then let out a “squeak-squeak” cry.

“Damn it!”

Yang Dian, who had just torn off a car door and fanned away a wave of rats, saw a swarm of rats rushing towards the crowd.

“Brother Shi, keep an eye on Charles and these guys. I’ll deal with the ferocious Rat King.”

Yang Dian was about to move, but a pulling force came from behind him.

As his gaze fell on Shi Sheng, Shi Sheng smiled.

“Don’t think you have to do everything by yourself. You have teammates.”

“Your Brother Shi, I’m pretty awesome right now!”

With that, he clasped his hands together, and a brilliant blue light bloomed from his palms.
