289: The explosive growth of killer whales

Going on a business trip, in Little Orca's consciousness, perhaps meant playing.

So, after hearing Yang Dian mention those two words, he joyfully rushed into the sea.

Then, he launched a super-giant mutated geoduck a hundred meters into the air, free-falling with it.

“Boom ~”

A huge splash erupted as the orca and the geoduck fell.

Little Black Cat, whose fur had puffed up and who was meowing after falling into the water, curiously opened his eyes after a moment:

“Human, why isn’t Little Black Cat wet?”

He stretched out a paw and pressed the reddish Qi and blood membrane covering his body, then looked at the fish in the sea, which were frantically fleeing under Little Orca's pressure.

“Human, so many fish.”

Seeing Little Black Cat's eyes light up, Yang Dian couldn't help but reach out and scratch his chin:

“So, do you want to catch fish?”

Little Black Cat looked at the fish, then at his small body:

“Human, Little Black Cat is going to sleep.”

“Haha ~” Yang Dian smiled, reaching out to pat the orca beneath him, which, after entering the sea, had rapidly grown like it was on hormones, reaching 18 meters in a short time:

“Orca, let's go.”

“There are still things waiting for me in Nanjing City. We'll go to Nanjing City first, and then you can play slowly in the sea.”

“Woo ~”

The orca spun in a circle in the sea, pressed his wings to his sides, and after a flick of his tail, shot off like an arrow towards the direction Yang Dian indicated.

However, although his speed was fast, it was still dozens of times slower than Yang Dian's flight speed of 10 Mach.

After calculating the time it would take for Little Orca to swim to Nanjing, Yang Dian thought for a moment and decided not to let the Dimension Butterfly fold space, but instead directly opened a spatial passage to cross over.

It was only a few hours anyway, just consider it playing with the two little ones... Time passed.

A few hours later, Little Orca's reserves seemed to be exhausted, and his growth rate began to slow down.

Of course, he wasn't not growing at all.

It was just that compared to the growth rate observable with the naked eye a few hours ago, the current growth rate was very slow.

His growth completely stopped only when he swam from the Yangtze River estuary into the Yangtze River.

Thus, Yang Dian also confirmed one thing.

That is, Little Orca's growth rate, in addition to being related to his reserves, was also greatly affected by his environment.

When he was in the Orca Pool dug by the Angler Zhao Tian, he could only grow to a little over 3 meters long.

After changing environments and coming to Fuda University's Orca Pavilion, his body began to surge like it was on hormones, and his length grew to 8 meters in a short time.

After that, his growth rate began to slow down until he reached 13 meters, and then he stopped growing completely.

It was the same whether the Research Institute fed him highly nutritious food or Yang Dian fed him heaven and earth treasures.

Only after entering the sea was the energy stored in his body reactivated, pushing him to grow again.

‘The Star Sea is also a sea.’

‘If he swims into the Star Sea in the future, how big will this little guy grow?’

‘Even if he doesn't go to the Star Sea, just in this pond on Earth, how big can the little guy grow?’

‘He shouldn't be smaller than that Fire Flame Turtle, right?’

Amidst his thoughts, a long, melodious horn blast from a cargo ship echoed across the surface of the Yangtze River.

Upon hearing the horn, Little Orca responded with an ethereal cry, then swam towards the huge shadow on the water's surface.

Seeing him about to ram the cargo ship without a word, Yang Dian couldn't help but pat his head:

“Orca, don't mess around.”

“Woo~?” Little Orca let out a questioning cry, and Little Black Cat followed with a meow:

“Human, the big fish asked why.”

Yang Dian poked Little Orca's head:

“Ordinary boats and people aren't me; they can't withstand your ramming.”

“If you ram them, you'll break them, and then you'll have to eat peanuts.”

Having stayed in human society for a long time, and sometimes even surfing intensely with the Jingwei Bird, Little Orca naturally knew what “eating peanuts” meant.

So he flicked his tail and stayed far away from the ship.

If he couldn't afford to provoke it, he could at least avoid it.

A little while later.

Seeing that the Yangtze River basin was not helping Little Orca's growth, Yang Dian simply raised his hand and tapped his brow.

Then, a spatial curtain, like a painting, slowly unfolded underwater, reflecting a lush green forest on the riverbed.

Little Orca curiously circled the spatial curtain, which was clearly in the water but seemed to have a layer of space separating it from the water, for two turns. Then, at Yang Dian's reminder, he swam towards the spatial curtain, which appeared to be only three meters wide and two meters high in his visual perception.

Then he discovered that the closer he got, the larger the spatial curtain appeared.

By the time he approached the spatial curtain, it had already reached a hundred meters wide and nearly 70 meters high.

“Woo?”

Little Orca let out a soft, questioning cry, and Little Black Cat followed with a meow:

“Human, the big fish said it’s amazing, and the cat thinks so too.”

After petting Little Black Cat a couple of times, Yang Dian, regardless of whether the two little ones could understand, directly explained:

“This is the application of spatial power.”

“Anchor two spatial coordinates, fold the two spatial coordinates with spatial power, then use spatial power to anchor recognized people and objects, granting them access permission. Recognized people and objects can then freely travel between the two coordinate locations through the spatial passage.”

Little Black Cat blinked:

“Human, so amazing.”

Yang Dian shook his head:

“What's difficult for some is easy for others.”

“As long as there are spatial coordinates and one masters spatial power, opening a spatial passage is actually nothing special.”

So, at Yang Dian's urging, Little Orca flicked his tail and rushed into the spatial passage.

After arriving above the forest on the other side of the space, he spread his wings again and let out an ethereal cry.

Wang Xiuzhi, who had already rushed over after observing the spatial fluctuations, saw the orca pass through the 6-meter-square spatial passage and then rapidly expand after leaving. He subconsciously reached up to push the glasses on his nose:

“Although it’s not the first time I’ve seen it, every time I witness the wonder of space, I can’t help but marvel at it.”

After a sigh of emotion, he looked at Little Orca circling above the Research Institute and exclaimed:

“And this orca.”

“Didn't the data say he was only a little over 10 meters? At this size, he must be over 20 meters now, right?”

Wang Xiuzhi's assistant opened the database to check and replied:

“There is an update regarding Orca - Orca.”

“When his living space is insufficient, he will stop growing and store growth energy until he leaves the current living environment and enters a larger living space. Only then will he consume the accumulated growth energy to allow his body to grow again.”

“According to the data uploaded by Director Yang, the orca stored enough growth energy in the Orca Pavilion to achieve explosive body growth after entering the sea.”

“This body growth began to slow down after the growth energy was exhausted, until it completely stopped growing after entering the Yangtze River basin.”

Wang Xiuzhi again pushed up his glasses frame with his hand:

“Amazing ability, amazing world.”

“Before the Qi Revival, where could we have witnessed such things?”
