725: The diplomatic team on the Niu Ruren spacecraft
The Universe, empty and void.
On a cosmic scale, a planet inhabited by life is as tiny as a speck of dust.
For example.
Taking a planet as an example, with Neptune's orbit as the Solar System's boundary.
Earth's volume is 0.000000000000000283% of the Solar System's volume.
Whereas a cell's volume is 0.0000000000027% of the human body's volume.
What does this concept mean?
If the Universe were a human body, observing oneself from a macroscopic perspective, and then shrinking a cell 100,000 times, that would be the size of a planet from the Universe's microscopic perspective.
One can imagine how tiny a planet is from this macroscopic perspective.
One can imagine how insignificant a star destroyer, far smaller than a planet, would be from this perspective.
Coincidentally, this star destroyer, which had accelerated to maximum speed, shut down all its engine Systems, and was gliding through the silent Universe, was the one that had supported Strange Star and returned early because the Huaxia had 'intercepted' Strange Star ahead of schedule.
Compared to the emptiness of the Universe, the star destroyer was much livelier inside.
With only three months of travel remaining to Niu Ru Star, all Niu Ru people had now been awakened.
Some were using secret signals to contact survivors on Niu Ru Star.
Others activated the quantum radar provided by Huaxia, scanning for information about the fleet invading Niu Ru Star, continuously gathering intelligence on the invaders.
Some knelt in their hibernation pods, praying to the Niu Ru people's never-before-seen god to bless their civilization through the calamity.
Still others gathered together, their faces full of worry, whispering something.
If one listened closely, one might hear words like 'what if,' 'possibly,' 'it won't happen.'
After being invaded by an Alien Planet civilization, the once naive and innocent Niu Ru people's civilization, like a delicate white flower, became less pure, no longer easily trusting others.
"If we stab them in the back again now, they might just turn dark."
In a certain lounge on the star destroyer, Hao Qiang held a cigarette, pointing at the image displayed on the screen, his words filled with emotion, but more with indifference:
"The Niu Ru people are innocent because they have always lived in a peaceful environment; their civilization has never experienced any wars, conspiracies, or betrayals from ancient times to the present."
"But once war, conspiracy, and betrayal appear, it's like opening Pandora's Box."
"Rituals and music will collapse in an instant, and they will master schemes and tricks at a speed we cannot imagine."
"Human hearts are unpredictable; we should maintain sufficient vigilance against them."
"I didn't say we shouldn't maintain vigilance against them."
Li Shuang, the head of the Huaxia diplomatic mission and the Ambassador, took a sip of tea from his thermos cup and continued:
"My point is that while maintaining vigilance, we must treat people with enough sincerity."
"Although the Niu Ru people are weak, once the technological blockade is broken, their civilization may not lack development prospects."
"Militarist ideology is not acceptable; cooperation leads to win-win outcomes."
"If we treat others with sincerity, we may receive unexpected rewards in the future."
Hao Qiang still held a different opinion:
"Huaxia is supreme; with Machina's cooperation, we actually don't need so many allies."
"I even think General Yang's idea of using the Niu Ru people as a target, letting them communicate with the myriad races of the Universe on our behalf, is unnecessary."
"In short, if we can defeat them, we fight."
"If we can't defeat them, we develop in secret, and then fight when we can."
"Instead of letting the Niu Ru people communicate with other civilizations in the Universe on our behalf, it would be better to let Machina mine the resources in the Niu Ru Star System, strengthen ourselves, and build a few more star destroyers."
"Resources are not easily obtained."
"Although we currently seem to control many Star Systems and can mine many resources, Old Li, you need to know how those resources came about."
"First, Yang Dian shattered the Star Core, allowing the Alien Planet to merge with Earth, becoming our Huaxia Blessed Land."
"Second, it was still Yang Dian."
"He opened the spatial gate, allowing us to cross spatial dimensions and travel freely between two Star Systems."
"If Yang Dian were to have an accident, those desolate star bases would instantly become enclaves, and with our current technology, God knows how many years it would take us to regain control of them."
"So, in this situation, any planet with resources is extremely precious, and we need to extract the most resources in the shortest possible time to prevent unforeseen events in the future..."
As the two argued, Cai Mingli, the third person in the mission who had been silent, suddenly looked up:
"Alright, alright, stop arguing. What's there to argue about?"
"Save the Niu Ru people in the name of rescue, station ourselves in the Niu Ru Star System's dead stars in the name of co-defense, and counterattack the 'Lingyao Civilization' that invaded them in the name of revenge."
"By then, the Niu Ru people will be saved, the resources on other planets will be mined, and the resources of the Lingyao Civilization will also be ours."
"What's there to argue about?"
Hao Qiang was still a bit unhappy:
"Aren't the resources on Niu Ru Star still resources?"
"Many rare resources that cannot be born on dead stars can appear on living planets..."
Just as he was muttering, Cai Mingli rolled her eyes at him again, and with a flick of her hand across the screen in front of her, she slid a projection in front of him:
"Aola is here. You can tell him whatever you want."
Looking at the Niu Ru Commander who had already walked near the conference hall door in the projection, Hao Qiang couldn't help but glance at Cai Mingli.
Some things are meant to be discussed privately among themselves; are they meant to be said openly?
He casually flicked his finger towards the projection.
As his fingertip touched the projection, and a knock sounded simultaneously, dozens of screens on the conference hall walls and in the air instantly disappeared.
Everyone in the conference room also stood up at the same time, put away the documents on the conference table, and simultaneously straightened their collars and cuffs before going to the door to welcome Aola.
One could only say they were indeed the Huaxia diplomatic corps.
Although their philosophies differed slightly, their intentions were ultimately unified.
Their synchronized actions were so perfect that after a brief chat, they could go and pilot a multi-person mech.
Standing behind the door, Li Shuang, Hao Qiang, and Cai Mingli exchanged glances and nodded in unison.
Then he looked back at the others, and after receiving confirmation that everything was ready, he turned and opened the conference hall door.
Aola, who was anxiously pacing outside the door, saw Li Shuang and the other two, standing like door gods, and immediately felt as if he had found his savior:
"Ambassador, has Huaxia's aid arrived?"
Three days ago, after Yang Dian distributed the System and the Dragon to the Expeditionary Force soldiers, he sent information to the diplomatic corps heading to Niu Ru Star that the Expeditionary Force's support would soon arrive.
And so.
Aola arrived right on schedule.
Li Shuang exchanged glances with Hao Qiang and Cai Mingli again, then looked at his watch.
Just as he was about to send a message to the Expeditionary Force, a soft "beep, beep, beep" suddenly sounded from his neural implant sensor.
After a brief communication, he nodded to Aola, who was in front of him with an expectant look:
"They are here."
As his voice fell, red lights flashed in the star destroyer corridor, and a piercing alarm sounded...
