158: The Extraordinary Foundation
The Little Black Cat, perched on Yang Dian's shoulder, translated in a timely manner:
"Human, she said 'why'."
"Because you treat all Mutants, except for Hawk and White Horse, as battle beasts and weapons."
The Little Black Cat blinked, jumped from Yang Dian's shoulder into his arms, and snuggled into his elbow.
"Human, I don't like her anymore either."
Yang Dian scratched the Little Black Cat's chin twice, looked into Ayina's eyes, and continued, "Your thinking isn't wrong."
"After all, only Hawk and White Horse were raised by you personally; you have no emotional foundation with the other Mutant creatures."
"There's no problem treating them as battle beasts, as weapons."
"But Little Orca grew up under our watch; we treat it as a child, as a friend."
"We cannot sit by and watch it become a weapon in your hands."
"Do you understand?"
Ayina nodded, then looked at the Little Black Cat hiding in Yang Dian's arm.
"Human, she wants to know if she's willing to treat Little Orca as family, can you give her another chance?"
Yang Dian shook his head:
"There's only one chance; once it's missed, it's missed."
Of course, this was just Yang Dian's way of putting it.
He simply wasn't at ease entrusting Little Orca to Ayina.
"We will raise Little Orca ourselves."
With that, Yang Dian's gaze fell upon Chen Wenqian nearby.
Chen Wenqian understood, and pulling Ayina, walked outside:
"Besides Little Orca, our Fuzhou Paranormal Management Bureau has many other Mutant creatures."
"Those Mutant creatures are not like Little Orca, which we watched grow up."
"Ayina, you can go and choose from those Mutant creatures, and find some Mutants to be your battle beasts."
After seeing the two off, he turned around.
Yang Dian immediately saw that Yang Lele had already picked up a fish and started feeding Little Orca.
"You're really quite bold."
Walking to the iron bucket, Yang Dian picked up a salmon and threw it to Little Orca, then waved towards the Orca Pool.
Dudu flew out of the pool and landed on his head.
Seeing this, Little Orca 'woo-wooed' twice, flapped its wings, and flew up, wanting to land on Yang Dian's head as well.
Holding Yang Lele and dodging Little Orca's 'Mount Tai crushing the top', Yang Dian was a bit helpless:
"You think you're still as small as you were when you were little? You don't even look at how big and heavy you are now. Aren't you afraid of crushing me to death?"
Reaching out and patting Little Orca's head, Yang Dian then waved his hand at it:
"Alright, go back to the pool and play. I have things to do, so I'm leaving. I'll come back to play with you tomorrow."
Little Orca was unwilling and started throwing a tantrum, rolling around on the shore.
It wasn't until it accidentally flattened something that its body stiffened.
Yang Dian looked, and sure enough, it had flattened its own 'iron rice bucket' used for holding salmon!
Smiling, he patted the slightly dejected Little Orca:
"Alright, stop pretending to be wronged."
"Someone will buy a new one later, won't they?"
"I guarantee it'll be even bigger than this one."
After saying that, he waved his hand at Little Orca again:
"I'm really leaving. You stay in the pool and don't fly out to play around and scare others."
Yang Dian wanted to leave, but Yang Lele tugged at his sleeve.
He turned to look at Yang Lele.
As Yang Dian expected, his Silly Younger Sister, who for some reason loved giant creatures, seemed unable to move:
"Brother, Little Orca is so bored by itself. How about I play with Little Orca for a while, and you come back to pick me up after you're done?"
Hearing that Yang Lele wanted to play with it, Little Orca cheered and darted back into the pool from the shore.
In a moment, it found a colorful rubber ball from who-knows-where, and with a nudge of its head, it pushed the ball towards Yang Lele.
Yang Lele jumped up to catch the ball, patted it, and then looked at Yang Dian:
"See? Little Orca wants me to play with it too."
Little Orca 'wooed', propped up its upper body, nodded, and also looked at Yang Dian eagerly.
"There's nothing I can do with you two little rascals."
Shaking his head, Yang Dian looked at the Orca keeper, a woman in her 30s, beside him:
"Sister Zhao, I'm troubling you. Don't let these two little ones go wild."
Zhao Yuehong shook her head with a smile:
"What trouble? I'm happy that your younger sister is willing to play with Little Orca; I couldn't be happier."
"After all, that little fellow, Little Orca, truly has boundless energy."
"Alright, then I'll leave my younger sister to you. I'll come back to pick her up later."
After saying that, Yang Dian waved at Yang Lele and Little Orca, then turned and walked towards the Research Institute.
He had only skimmed through 《The First Set of National Martial Arts Exercises for Primary and Secondary School Students》 and needed to understand it in detail... but there were always small unexpected events in life.
He hadn't walked far when Yang Dian, who was looking down and pondering something, noticed several people blocking his path.
He looked up, and indeed, a white young man in a white suit stood before two burly men in black suits and black sunglasses, extending his right hand towards him.
"Hello, Mr. Yang."
"I am Chelsea, the China director for the Western Europe Supernatural Foundation."
"I wonder if Mr. Yang has some free time; I'd like to invite you for a cup of coffee."
After shaking Yang Dian's hand, he spread his hands behind him.
The bodyguard to his left extended his hands, which had been clasped behind his back, and placed an antique-looking wooden box into Chelsea's hands.
"This is a specialty from Western Europe that I brought for you. I hope you like it."
Yang Dian didn't stand on ceremony, took the wooden box, and opened it to take a look.
Inside the box were five fruits, similar to blueberries but larger, with a pale blue liquid seemingly flowing within them.
There was no maddening allure, but it was certainly not an ordinary item.
It was probably some kind of Spirit Medicine or Spirit Fruit he had never seen before.
Thoughts raced through Yang Dian's mind in an instant. He closed the wooden box.
Who cares if it's a sugar-coated bullet.
He'd eat the sugar coating first, then step on it to see if it was a landmine:
"I don't like coffee. There's a good Shanghai woman in the school. How about we go for milk tea instead?"
Chelsea fell silent for a moment before smiling:
"As you wish."
...A moment later, Yang Dian, who found the Shanghai woman expensive, squatted under the shade of a tree, holding a cup of Snow King lemonade. He looked at Chelsea, who was also squatting but a bit off-balance and full of doubt about life, and spoke:
"Director Che, what can I do for you?"
Chelsea fell silent again.
"Mr. Yang, my full name is Chelsea Andre Joseph."
Yang Dian nodded indifferently:
"So, Director Che, what can I do for you?"
Chelsea was stunned for a moment, then let out a bitter laugh:
"Mr. Yang, we come with great sincerity. You don't need to harbor so much ill will and wariness towards us."
Yang Dian took a sip of lemonade.
Hmm, it tasted just like before.
"So, Director, what can I do for you?"
"Surely you didn't just come all this way to give me this?"
Watching Yang Dian wave the box in his hand, Chelsea took a deep breath and said seriously:
"I wonder what Mr. Yang thinks of our Western Europe, and if he has any thoughts of developing there?"
