409: Wang Wu's status
Lushan, Secret Sanatorium.
Not long after bidding farewell to Han Zhang, Yang Dian, who had torn space to find Wang Wu, had just stepped out of the spatial aisle when he received a message from Han Zhang: "Wuhou Grotto-heaven, Lizardmen conscription completed."
"It's already done?"
Yang Dian mumbled, then casually clicked open the video that came with the message.
Watching the Lizardmen in the video, full of fighting spirit and beginning to resemble Chinese soldiers, Yang Dian fell silent.
"These guys are much more pleasing to the eye than those yellow-skinned, white-hearted things."
"Is it a bit bad to use them as cannon fodder?"
Humans are emotional beings, and Yang Dian was no exception.
Although the Lizardmen were scaly and armored, and their appearance was distinctly different from that of the Chinese, as long as they were willing to fight for China's rise, they were good comrades.
"Let's treat these Lizardmen as people."
"They have firm beliefs; if they can survive the battlefield, they can set an example for other Lizardmen when they return to Wuhou Grotto-heaven..."
While contemplating how to utilize the Lizardmen, Yang Dian also walked into the heavily guarded sanatorium, heading towards the innermost courtyard.
From a distance, Yang Dian heard Wang Wu's sickeningly sweet voice coming from the courtyard.
"Tongtong, isn't Daddy amazing?"
The little girl Tongtong's voice then rang out:
"Daddy is the best!"
"And Daddy, when you come back, can I ride on your head and you take me to play?"
Through the fence, Yang Dian saw Wang Wu nodding frantically, "Of course you can!"
"My little darling, you can ride on Daddy's head for as long as you want."
Tongtong, holding a little lamb doll, smiled sweetly:
"But you're not allowed to turn so big! If you turn so big, I can't even hug you."
Wang Wu continued to nod frantically:
"I definitely won't turn that big; I'll just become as big as a stone lion..."
About 10 minutes later, the father and daughter finally hung up the phone, which they had been on for an unknown amount of time.
Wang Wu turned his head and looked at Yang Dian:
"Tongtong knows I'm infested with parasites."
He then said, seemingly a little happy and a little sad, "She also asked me if it hurt a lot to be infested with bugs."
"I told her it hurt terribly when the bugs bit me, but then I thought of her and the pain went away."
"She even blew on me, feeling sorry for me."
"I should have known not to tell her."
Looking at Wang Wu, whose face was beaming with happiness, Yang Dian feigned speechlessness:
"Director, are you showing off, or are you showing off?"
Wang Wu chuckled, put away his boastful expression, and said with a serious look:
"Why did you suddenly come here?"
"To give you a check-up."
Yang Dian extended his hand towards Wang Wu: "Director, although you said in your report that you're fine, I'm still a bit worried, so I came to check."
Wang Wu placed his bandaged wrist into Yang Dian's palm:
"I know my own body; there's definitely no problem."
"But if you want to check, then check."
Qi and blood flowed along Wang Wu's wrist into his body.
Sensing the dense parasites inside Wang Wu's body, Yang Dian couldn't help but feel a chill.
Wang Wu's body could no longer be considered human.
He now only had a skeleton and a brain that had not been infested by parasites.
Everything else had been hollowed out by parasites.
Skin, eyes, hair, nails... all were things mimicked by parasites.
Yang Dian couldn't even imagine how much pain Wang Wu had endured to survive.
Noticing the change in Yang Dian's expression, Wang Wu waved his hand cheerfully:
"Don't pity me; I'm used to it."
"And these parasites are also good things."
"Without them, where would I get my current strength?"
"Furthermore, I can feel that if I can completely control them, then reversing them and turning them into flesh and blood isn't an impossible feat."
Yang Dian nodded silently.
After giving Wang Wu a thorough full-body examination, including even the dwelling place of his Soul, and confirming that the Heavenly Dao Ghost had left no lingering tricks on him, he withdrew his palm:
"Then I look forward to the day Director you fully recover your human form."
"Also, the Heavenly Dao Ghost indeed left no lingering tricks on you; I worried for nothing."
Wang Wu picked up the needle and thread nearby and began knitting a sweater.
This was what he was knitting for Tongtong:
"Being cautious is a good habit; you should maintain it in the future."
"It's better to spend a little more time to be safe than to regret it later..."
After chatting with Wang Wu about various things, Yang Dian stood up and looked up at the sky:
"Well, Director, I'll take my leave now; I have to go."
"The Lizardmen of Wuhou Grotto-heaven have already assembled; I need to send them to the Expeditionary Force soldiers."
A hint of envy appeared in Wang Wu's eyes:
"Leading foreign races to fight on an Alien Planet."
"Tsk, this is something I never even dared to imagine before."
"Save a spot for me in the Expeditionary Force; once I recover, I'll join you there."
Yang Dian chuckled:
"Then you'll have to call me Commander-in-Chief from now on."
Wang Wu picked up the ball of yarn next to him and threw it at Yang Dian:
"Get out of here, you brat..."
