251: The ghost, the research institute, the moose's ability, and the thing under the lake
A moment later, Yang Dian couldn't help but frown as he looked at the 30-meter tall, somewhat illusory, devil-like malevolent Soul that emerged from the dark valley.
'But whether it's in my perception or the guidance of Earth's Will, it's not dead yet.'
Feeling the overwhelming resentment emanating from the malevolent Soul, Yang Dian's frown deepened.
'It already hates heaven and earth even when not dead; if it really died, wouldn't it destroy heaven and earth?'
Of course, whether the Norwegians died or not had little to do with Yang Dian.
He cared about the Moose.
After a moment of contemplation, Yang Dian, having made his decision, took out a section of seaweed emitting a faint green light and flew in front of the Moose's malevolent Soul's head:
"I have no ill intentions."
"In fact, after learning of your situation, I traveled thousands of miles to come here, all for the purpose of saving you."
At this point, Yang Dian no longer concealed his Qi.
His vast Qi and blood radiated a scorching aura, illuminating the dark valley in front of him with a fiery red glow:
"After all, with my strength, even if you become a malevolent Soul after death, I can still blow you up again, can't I?"
The Moose's malevolent Soul, sizzling from the burning Qi and blood, closed its ferocious mouth, and its eyes cleared somewhat.
Seeing it retreat two steps and completely hide in the valley, Yang Dian also withdrew his Qi and blood, landed on the ground, and walked into the valley.
Looking up at the massive malevolent Soul, Yang Dian waved to it:
"Your body is too big; make it smaller."
The malevolent Soul, quite submissively, shrank to about a meter tall.
Its previously terrifying appearance due to its size now looked somewhat adorable.
"So obedient."
After praising the malevolent Soul, Yang Dian then gestured towards the interior of the valley:
"Take me to your body."
"There should still be a way to save it."
The malevolent Soul moved its body and floated towards the inside of the valley, eventually drifting into a stone wall.
"Tsk, although he ran abroad, Old Ancestor's craftsmanship hasn't been lost."
He channeled his Qi and blood to his hands and effortlessly sliced open a half-meter-thick steel door with two claw strikes.
Then, a piercing alarm sounded from the passage within.
Countless firearms appeared from both ends of the passage, their muzzles pointing directly at Yang Dian.
Yang Dian merely flicked his finger.
Qi and blood surged from his fingertips, forming two crescent slashes that swept across both sides of the passage.
Amidst the "clatter" of firearms falling to the ground, Yang Dian followed the Moose's malevolent Soul downwards.
Along the way, he encountered many people.
Of course, they were the kind of people who were already cold, lying flat, ready for burial, with expressions of horrified terror on their faces.
In short, after walking downwards for a considerable time, Yang Dian didn't see a single living person, nor did he sense any living person's aura.
Occasionally passing by a Research Institute, he could see mutated creatures laid out on the dissection tables.
And... parts.
And... people.
"So, Lao Mo, who was placed on the dissection table back then, was the first, but he won't be the last."
"Few people would attack an Awakened, but that doesn't mean no one would."
"Especially those old men whose lifespans are nearing their end..."
Amidst his musings, he followed the malevolent Soul downwards.
Yang Dian finally followed it to an operating room.
Pushing open the door.
Inside the operating room, he saw a giant Moose that occupied half the room, its four large legs covered in needle marks, its body extremely emaciated, every rib clearly visible.
The Moose still had one breath left.
But only one breath.
Much like an elderly person in their final moments.
"Consider yourself lucky..."
Muttering, Yang Dian shoved the seaweed in his hand deep into its throat.
As the Moose instinctively swallowed, its body began to visibly plump up at a speed perceptible to the naked eye.
In just a few blinks, the Moose's body returned to a healthy state, and its heart began to beat strongly.
A moment later, it suddenly snorted, then opened its emerald green eyes.
Perhaps knowing that Yang Dian had saved it, and still bound to the operating table with IV drips all over its body, the Moose gently shook its head and rubbed against Yang Dian with its antlers.
Yang Dian looked at the now revived Moose.
Then he looked at the Moose's malevolent Soul beside it.
"So you're not its Soul?"
As his puzzled voice faded, the malevolent Soul snorted.
Then countless dim Soul bodies flew out from it.
Deer, horses, cattle, sheep, tigers, leopards, lions, and even humans... these Soul bodies, upon flying away from the malevolent Soul, instantly transformed into specks of light and vanished.
As these Soul bodies departed, the Moose's malevolent Soul's figure became increasingly transparent.
Until all the Soul bodies had flown away, its body became ethereal, and finally, after extending a phantom tongue to lick the mutated Moose, it too transformed into specks of light and disappeared from the world.
Unable to see the malevolent Soul, yet seemingly able to feel its disappearance, the mutated Moose mooed twice, and two emerald green tears flowed from its eyes, falling onto the operating table with a tinkling sound.
Reaching out, he hooked and picked up the two pearl-sized, gem-like tears.
Yang Dian then flicked his finger again, directly using his Qi and blood to sever the restraints binding the Moose and remove the needles inserted into its body.
The mooing Moose struggled to get up from the operating table, and after walking to Yang Dian's side, it lowered its head and rubbed against his body.
Patting the Moose's head, Yang Dian tipped his toes and leaped onto its broad back:
"Let's go, to the outside."
The Moose mooed, then, carrying Yang Dian, it crashed through the operating room door and joyfully galloped towards the outside of the Research Institute.
As it ran out of the Research Institute and stepped onto the grass, the surrounding grass and trees all emitted a hazy green light.
The Moose's aura also began to rapidly increase.
Patting the Moose's body to signal it to stop.
Releasing his perception and sensing the green light, a smile appeared on Yang Dian's face.
When Qian Tao first introduced the Moose, he felt that the Moose was extraordinary.
This ability to actively enhance a person's strength without any side effects.
He had never even heard of it, let alone seen it.
Now, seeing the Moose's ability with his own eyes, he was even more certain that he was right to come find the Moose in time.
After mutating, the Moose gained the ability to control natural energy.
"If it can be used on people and animals, can it be used on plants?"
"Like heaven and earth treasures!"
"Take it back to raise the Plum Tree."
Thinking of this, Yang Dian then pointed in a direction:
"Go that way."
Receiving the command, the Moose let loose its hooves and galloped playfully in the direction Yang Dian indicated.
After a long while, the Moose stopped by the lake, and Yang Dian also witnessed a 'magnificent' war.
It was likely a war from the Middle Ages or an even earlier era.
Hundreds of people in wooden plate armor charged, shouted, and constantly fell wounded by a lake.
Until one side completely collapsed and fled, and the other side raised their stone axes and cheered loudly.
At this point, the scene disappeared.
What? You say a war of hundreds of people is a small skirmish?
This corner of Northern Europe is like that.
A village chief can be king, and a kingdom celebration is just a village feast.
A war of hundreds of people was indeed epic.
Of course, Yang Dian's goal was not to watch this 'epic war' on the lake.
But for what was at the bottom of the lake...
