56: The Fisherman's Foresight

One mile from the rocky beach.

Yang Dian was about to go to the rocky beach to join the fun when he saw those Lao Mo injecting something into their necks, then transforming into werewolves.

"This world has really become something I don't recognize."

These words weren't spoken by Yang Dian.

They were spoken by the Angler beside him, who, because he couldn't see, was using his HUAWEI Mate X6 to view the scene through its camera.

Turning his head to look at the murmuring Angler, Yang Dian shrugged:

"It's good that you know; don't spread it around carelessly."

"When we go back, sign a non-disclosure agreement with me."

The world is just that unfair.

Some things, Yang Dian could tell his family, and other people in the organization could also tell their families.

But what about ordinary people?

Even if they knew, they weren't allowed to spread it.

Not a single word.

Unless declassified, spreading it would be against the law.

When the Angler heard Yang Dian's words, he nodded as a matter of course:

"I know, even if you didn't say it, I wouldn't spread this kind of thing carelessly."

"I don't want to be invited to the station for tea."

Saying that, he even completely deleted the video in front of Yang Dian.

"Look, I even deleted the video."

After gesturing with his phone, the Angler rubbed his hands again:

"Um, I reported someone trafficking drugs today, and the traffickers were these monsters. That should count as a meritorious service, right?"

Looking at the Angler, whose worldview had been shattered but whose mindset hadn't changed at all, Yang Dian nodded along:

"Yes, it's a meritorious service, and a great one at that."

Seeing Yang Dian nod, the Angler continued:

"Um, can I not have the bonus?"

Yang Dian was first surprised, then enlightened:

"You don't want the bonus, what do you want?"

"I want that Martial Arts of yours that lets you cross more than 10 meters in one step!"

"Of course, if that's not possible, other Martial Arts would also be fine."

"As long as it's the real deal, no fake stuff!"

Even with a guess in his heart, Yang Dian still looked at the Angler with new respect:

"Are you sure?"

After asking that, Yang Dian continued:

"Actually, some Martial Arts circulating online are also real."

"Are you really willing to give up hundreds of thousands in bonus money for a Cultivation Technique that might exist online and can be obtained for free without any cost?"

"Sure, and definitely sure." The Angler nodded without hesitation:

"I don't know which ones online are real and which are fake."

"Who knows if practicing according to things online will lead to some trouble?"

"Instead of trying my luck online, it's better to ask the organization."

"Although I'm not in the system, two reports, more or less, make me a meritorious person, right?"

"The organization wouldn't give a meritorious person fake goods, would it?"

"A wise choice." After a word of praise, Yang Dian looked up at an armed helicopter approaching him in the distance, and extended his right hand to the Angler:

"China Anomalous Affairs Administration, Second-Level Peacekeeper, Yang Dian."

The Angler looked at the right hand extended in front of him, couldn't help but rub the back of his head, and grinned:

"Daya Bay Angler, Zhao Tian."

Yang Dian was stunned:

"Daya Bay?"

"Which Daya Bay?"

"The Daya Bay in Huizhou?"

Zhao Tian nodded, "Yes, it's the Daya Bay in Huizhou."

"How did you, a Huizhou person, come all the way here to fish?"

"And in a remote place like Yangjiao Bay."

Zhao Tian gave an embarrassed smile:

"Two days ago, someone in the group said he lost a big catch weighing about two hundred catties here."

"I thought he sounded genuine, so I figured I might as well try my luck here since I was free."

Yang Dian subconsciously looked at the small paddleboard that the two of them had dragged ashore.

"A big catch of over two hundred catties, and you came with just a small paddleboard to fish?"

"If you actually caught it, aren't you afraid it would drag you out into the deep sea?"

"I wasn't fishing from the paddleboard." Zhao Tian said confidently:

"I was fishing at the estuary of Yangjiao Bay."

"Look, that's the backwater area."

Looking at the straight cliff facing the sea that Zhao Tian pointed to, Yang Dian couldn't help but give him a thumbs up:

"As expected of an Angler!"

"Truly impressive."

"You flatter me, you flatter me~"

"When you're free, I'll invite you for deep-sea fishing; that's what's truly exhilarating..."

As the two chatted, the armed helicopter in the distance also arrived, circled twice above their heads, found a flat spot, and landed.

The propeller hadn't stopped spinning yet, but the cabin door was already open.

Lin Mo jumped out of the helicopter and quickly approached Yang Dian.

He scrutinized Yang Dian, and only after seeing no injuries on him did he breathe a sigh of relief:

"Good, this time you were quite steady, no one rushed in recklessly."

Yang Dian gave a wry smile and spread his hands:

"Captain, I admit I was a bit reckless before, but I'm not stupid."

"Knowing that the other side has hot weapons, before I could withstand bullets or even rocket launchers, how could I recklessly charge in?"

After complaining, Yang Dian introduced the Angler beside him:

"Zhao Tian, it's thanks to him that we found this place this time."

"He also saw what happened just now, so he needs to go back to the bureau to sign a non-disclosure agreement."

"Oh, and after seeing what happened just now, Zhao Tian feels that this world is becoming a bit dangerous, so he also wants to practice Martial Arts..."

Lin Mo looked at Zhao Tian and smiled at him:

"In principle, exchanging a bonus for a Cultivation Technique is not allowed."

"However, given that your report call today was very timely and helped us solve a major drug smuggling and human trafficking case."

"So, principles aren't entirely unchangeable."

"For the specifics, you first come back to the bureau with me; we need to submit a report to the higher-ups first."

Zhao Tian immediately nodded:

"Alright, alright, alright."

"I'll definitely follow the organization's arrangements!"

Seeing Zhao Tian's appearance, Lin Mo smiled again, then turned to Yang Dian:

"If you have nothing else to do here, would you like to come back with me?"

Yang Dian looked back at the rocky beach:

"Captain, someone should be coming to deal with this here, right?"

Lin Mo nodded:

"The military has already arranged personnel to come and handle it."

"We don't need to worry about that."

"Since we don't need to worry about it, then of course I'll fly back."

Saying that, Yang Dian looked eagerly at the big toy parked not far away:

"I've never been on a plane before in my life."

"My first time on a plane, and it's an armed helicopter..."

Seeing Yang Dian's eager look at the large toy, Lin Mo smiled and shook his head:

"Then let's go."

He turned around and walked towards the helicopter first.

Yang Dian saw this and immediately followed.

But after only a few steps, he suddenly felt a pang of trepidation.

He sharply turned his head back, but found nothing.

Behind him, it was still as calm as before, with no ripples in the water.

Only people in white protective suits appeared on the rocky beach, indicating that time was still passing.

"A trick of the mind?"

Muttering, Yang Dian turned around and followed Lin Mo's footsteps... Just as Yang Dian turned around.

On the rocky beach, in the bloody undercurrent, strings of bloody Qi bubbles gurgled and churned...
