77: Rom the Beast Slave, the Place Where Souls Reside

Coming to the window and seeing the commotion on the street, Yang Dian was immediately stunned.

Normally, Pingshui Street, with its constant flow of people and vehicles, still seemed silent, with only the sounds of doors opening and closing, but now it was filled with onlookers.

In addition, the residential buildings facing the street also lit up, one by one.

It seems Yang Dian wasn't the only one who enjoyed a good show.

As for why Yang Dian was stunned?

Naturally, it was because of the main character.

Yang Dian had strolled through Pingshui Street at night.

Of course, it was just a stroll, simply to satisfy his eyes.

For his own safety, Yang Dian hadn't done anything out of line.

After all, a great future awaited him; there was no need to get himself sick and have good fortune but no life to enjoy it.

Although it was just a visual indulgence, Yang Dian still came to a conclusion.

Pingshui Street wasn't bad.

Each season had its own unique charm.

No matter what type old perverts preferred, as long as they looked, they could always find the one they liked.

Of course, there were excellent ones, and naturally, there were also flawed ones.

Some aunties, though old and faded, had no choice but to find work on Pingshui Street to make a living.

The main character of the scene downstairs belonged to the latter.

She was about forty or fifty, a bit plump, wrapped in a red blanket, and on her shockingly white foundation-covered face was a large, red, swollen five-finger print.

Clearly, she had been slapped.

"Although older ones are cheaper."

"But if a brother is going to get a free ride, why not pick a prettier one?"

"How could anyone lay hands on someone like this?"

"Truly a brave warrior!"

Just as Yang Dian was sighing, a tall figure pushed open a door emitting purple light, revealing his bare, tattooed upper body, and arrogantly pushed through the crowd:

"Get out of the way, you yellow-skinned monkeys!"

Hearing the broken Chinese and watching him swagger away, with no one stepping forward to stop him, Yang Dian first shook his head. When his gaze fell on the figure again, his eyes suddenly narrowed.

"It's him?"

Grabbing Du Du and placing him on his head, Yang Dian returned to the table, picked up his portable detector, and put it on his nose:

'Du Du, check his information.'

As he thought, countless pieces of information flashed across the lens, finally turning into a few lines of text.

— — — —

· Special Class Fugitive — Beast Tamer Romu.

· An American, possessing a Beast Taming talent, capable of controlling and enslaving small animals.

· Enslaved Beast 1: Ferocious Rat King (Mutated Creature), the Ferocious Rat King possesses extremely strong gnawing abilities and can control rat swarms in a small area.

· Enslaved Beast 2: Night Owl (Mutated Creature), the Night Owl is a mutated owl, and Romu can share its vision.

"To search far and wide for something, only to find it effortlessly?"

"But why would Romu appear in this place?"

"Because Pingshui Street is a mixed bag of people, anyone can be found here, making it easy to hide one's identity?"

"But if they want to hide, why would they dare to show their faces so openly?"

"To cover for others?"

"It's true that the people from The West have peculiar tastes; it's not surprising at all that they could lay hands on a fifty-year-old woman."

Thoughts churned in Yang Dian's mind as he watched Romu disappear around the corner of Pingshui Street, then immediately dialed Lin Mo's number.

Romu had a mutated owl that could share its vision.

Although he didn't know where the owl was hiding, there was no doubt that if he dared to follow, Romu would definitely discover him.

Moreover, with surveillance cameras ubiquitous in the city, Yang Dian had no need to risk tracking him.

After two beeps, the call connected.

Before Lin Mo could speak, Yang Dian spoke first:

"Captain, I saw Romu on Pingshui Street. He just got a free ride on Pingshui Street without paying, and I didn't see anyone else with him."

"I suspect it's a smokescreen put out by their people. You should have the Second Brigade investigate thoroughly."

"He might even have deliberately let me find him!"

"Otherwise, it couldn't be such a coincidence that I just woke up, there was a commotion downstairs, and I happened to see it."

On the other side, Lin Mo, who had just lain down fully clothed, suddenly sat upright:

"Understood."

"Romu has a mutated owl that can share its vision. Don't go after him alone and expose yourself."

"I know. I just stood by the window and watched the commotion for a while; I didn't even go out."

"That's good. I'll head to the Public Security Bureau first."

"Okay, Captain." After agreeing, Yang Dian suddenly thought of something:

"Captain, do you think his owl might be flying in the sky right now, monitoring the Public Security Bureau?

"Once we make a move, they'll receive the news."

Lin Mo paused while putting on his clothes:

"That's not impossible."

Thinking, Lin Mo subconsciously pulled out a cigarette.

But seeing his wife's worried eyes beside him, he still smiled at her and put the cigarette back in the pack:

"I'll handle the next steps. You just act as usual."

"Also, stay safe and keep in touch at all times."

Yang Dian nodded:

"Okay."

"I understand, Captain."

After hanging up the phone, Yang Dian first sat on the bed for a while, then took off his glasses, drew the curtains, and turned off the light.

Flicking Du Du, who had once again turned into hair, Yang Dian opened his panel for a glance, then said:

"Du Du, absorb two-thirds of my current total energy, then sprinkle some starlight on me to replenish myself~"

Hearing Yang Dian's words, Du Du immediately detached from the Fusion state and happily circled Yang Dian a few times:

"Du Du~ Du Du~"

After a few calls, Du Du lay down on Yang Dian's head.

The next moment, an extreme sense of comfort arose in Yang Dian's heart.

As the comfort arose, Yang Dian subconsciously closed his eyes, beginning to enjoy this feeling that made one comfortable from the bottom of their heart.

Soon after, specks of starlight passed through Yang Dian's closed eyelids and fell into his eyes.

The moment the starlight touched his eyes, Yang Dian felt his consciousness begin to sink.

Sinking, sinking, and sinking further... until he arrived at a dark, lightless region, seemingly without any concept of space or time.

'Where is this?'

In his confusion, Yang Dian tried to perceive his own state, to awaken from the darkness.

Then he saw a wisp of light.

A dazzling wisp of starlight, shining in the darkness.

Because of the light's presence, Yang Dian then 'saw' his slightly transparent palm.

This gave him a concept of space.

He looked down at the wisp of starlight located at his heart.

The wisp of starlight then began to flicker and dance like a firefly.

It flickered faster and faster, grew larger and larger, and flew higher and higher.

When it flickered and came before Yang Dian's eyes, he finally saw that it wasn't starlight at all.

It was Du Du, shrunk countless times, his body smaller than a sesame seed!

Du Du circled Yang Dian a few times, trailing a brilliant starlight tail, and spiraled upwards into the sky.

Then Yang Dian discovered that above the dark sky, there was a pool of incredibly magnificent water, seemingly containing all the mysteries of the world.

The moment he saw that pool of water, a feeling of sudden realization arose in Yang Dian's heart.

"This is my Soul."

"This is where my Soul resides."

"That pool of water in the sky is the energy I've collected."

"The reason Du Du became so small is that his Soul, compared to my Soul, is like a tiny sesame seed compared to an adult human body."

Extending his hand, Yang Dian smiled again, watching the starlight surge from his heart to his fingertips at his thought.

"So, Du Du recognized me as his master a long time ago..."
