840: Cognitive impairment

As the saying goes, Dragons walk Dragon paths, and rats walk rat paths.

In reality, different professions are like mountains apart; for example, a farmer might never know the steps required for blacksmithing in their entire life.

But for a blacksmith who has spent their whole life forging, blacksmithing is their job.

Heating materials, forging, shaping, polishing steel, quenching...

Various skills have long been engraved in their bones, becoming an instinct of the body.

This also fits that saying.

What is difficult is unknown; what is known is not difficult.

Wanting to pass through the barriers guarding the borders of various countries actually also fits the saying, 'What is difficult is unknown; what is known is not difficult.'

Take Yang Dian, for instance. After knowing the nature of the barrier, he just flicked his finger casually, and his Qi and blood broke through the barrier formation that he had been unable to achieve a Breakthrough in no matter what method he used before.

Lei Ming watched as the energy fell from Yang Dian's palm, turning into a stream of light that passed through the barrier and directly dissipated the Qi and blood in one of Brahma's arms. He was overjoyed:

"What does 'Cognitive Barrier' mean?"

As soon as the question left his lips, he shook his head again:

"Never mind."

"What the Cognitive Barrier is doesn't matter anymore."

"In any case, you can now freely perform Transmigration through that barrier formation, right?"

As he spoke, he looked at the gods of Brahma, who were silently staring at the lost arm but dared not make a sound, and began to rub his hands together in anticipation:

"Help me pick an evenly matched opponent, preferably one a bit weaker than me."

"I also want to see what it's like to slaughter a god."

Yang Dian turned his head to look at Lei Ming, then scanned the others:

"The energy barriers along the borders are fully known as Cognitive Barriers."

"Their essence is twofold."

"One is energy, the other is cognition."

"As the name implies, energy is the foundation; it is the power source that raises the barrier."

"As for cognition."

Speaking of this, Yang Dian landed by the barrier again and reached out to touch the barrier that he once could not break through no matter what he did, but now could not even feel.

"I think you should remember that after the barrier rose, a thought arose in all of us simultaneously."

"We could freely enter and exit our own country's border barrier, but no matter what, we could not enter or exit the border barriers of other countries."

"This is the work of cognition."

"The 'barrier' tells us that we cannot break through it."

"We believe it to be true, so no matter how hard we try, we cannot break through it."

Yue Shan, standing to the side, looked enlightened:

"In our understanding, quantum communication can communicate across time, space, and even infinite dimensions."

"The barrier cannot affect quantum communication."

"Is that why quantum communication could still be used?"

After his realization, he became somewhat puzzled:

"But since the barrier can affect our cognition, why doesn't it just directly modify our cognition to make us believe that even quantum communication devices cannot allow us to communicate inside and outside?"

"Also, back then, we transferred through the space node on Tiannan Star and similarly entered inside the barrier."

"Why didn't it modify our cognition to make us think that we couldn't enter it even by transferring through space nodes?"

Yang Dian looked at Zeus with a smile:

"Because it lacks the strength."

"It can modify cognition regarding things we have never encountered."

"But wanting to modify cognition that we firmly believe in would make us discover inconsistencies and disharmony."

"By conducting in-depth research into these inconsistencies and disharmony, we might very well discover the essence of the barrier."

"So they didn't bother doing something so unnecessary."

Yue Shan showed an expression of understanding:

"So as long as I think I can enter, I really can enter?"

As his voice fell, he stepped forward and walked into the barrier.

"Cognition, is it?"

"How should one master this kind of power?"

Muttering, he shook his head again, pushed the thought of mastering the power of cognition into the back of his mind, and then scanned the gods who were in a gloomy atmosphere with dark expressions, finally fixing his gaze on Shiva.

"Star Dome Realm Middle Stage?"

"The aura is similar to mine, but after all, they dropped down from a high-level transcendence; perhaps they could erupt with the combat power of a Star Dome Realm Late Stage, or even planetary level?"

Muttering, Yue Shan turned back and looked at Yang Dian.

"If he suddenly erupts with planetary-level combat power, you can protect me, right?"

Yang Dian looked at Yue Shan's blurred eyes, which looked like countless pupils overlapping together, and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

"You just focus on fighting..."
