483: Lao Bai's Star Destroyer
Mars Base City One.
Having migrated to the Mars base a year ago, the Mars immigrants, now accustomed to life on Mars, watched as a world-ending storm inexplicably rose outside the protective shield, battering it with crackling sounds, causing it to subtly sway. They all emerged from their residences and playgrounds.
“What a terrifying storm, it can actually shake the sky’s protective shield.”
“Look at the data on the shield. The maximum wind speed of the storm is about 376 meters per second. How is this possible! That’s supersonic! The fastest wind in the Solar System, the Great Red Spot on Jupiter, only has a wind speed of 150 meters per second, right? How can Mars have a wind speed that breaks this record!”
“Didn’t they say Mars was incredibly safe? If this storm breaks through the protective shield, the entire base city will be blown into the sky in an instant, right? I feel like we should just go back to Earth!”
“Earth isn’t that safe either. It was invaded by a Strange Star before. Although we could counter-invade because the Strange Star wasn’t strong, who knows if some powerful world or civilization will invade Earth in the future?”
“This isn’t safe, that isn’t safe. When danger comes, we’ll die either way, so why not just lie flat and rot…”
“How can you have such thoughts! As new youths of the new era, when civilization faces a crisis, shouldn’t we do our part, strive to become stronger, ensure that when a crisis descends, we don’t cause trouble for civilization, and can even help it!”
“Huh? You’re that enlightened? If you’re that enlightened, how were you chosen to come to Mars? Most of the people who come to Mars aren’t just lying flat and rotting? To prevent our rotting mentality from influencing the next generation, the organization even had Machina raise newborns. How did a hard-working chicken like you get mixed in with us? Forget it, I’m not talking to you anymore. I’m going to sleep with my paper-thin wife…”
The Mars immigrants watched the world-ending storm outside the protective shield as if it were just an exciting show.
After the excitement, everyone went back to their homes, and everyone went to find their mothers.
Meanwhile, deep underground in the base city, the Geocentric Research Institute.
As Yang Dian spread his hands, awakening the world-ending storm, an ear-splitting alarm also sounded at the Geocentric Research Institute.
At the core of the Research Institute, a brain, immersed in the pale blue nutrient solution of a brain tank and appearing increasingly massive, couldn’t stop shrinking after calculating the storm’s affected range.
“The storm has a diameter of 379 kilometers, covering an area of 112,800 square kilometers, with a maximum wind speed of 376 meters per second. It can be considered a Category 104 storm…”
Watching the perfectly circular storm in the monitoring footage, Dr. Bai’s brain began to pulsate rapidly.
“This is unscientific!”
“How can such a powerful storm exist in nature, and how can its structure remain stable?”
Halting other technological advancements, Dr. Bai focused all his attention on the world-ending storm, or rather, on Yang Dian.
A few seconds later, the super brain, having calculated the answer, paused for a moment:
“Oh, there’s an overpowered transcendent force involved?”
“Then it’s fine.”
Thinking this, he re-collected most of his computing power and once again focused on advancing technology.
His star destroyer class battleship was almost finished with its design.
Although theoretically, limited by existing Materials, even with all his effort, he could only design a star destroyer capable of destroying a small planet with a diameter of four thousand kilometers in an over-clocked state with a single blow.
But that was still a star destroyer-class Universe battleship.
“Who isn’t overpowered?”
“In two years at most, my star destroyer will be fully designed, and then it can be mass-produced in the space dock.”
“Once my star destroyers are mass-produced…”
“Hehe…”
…Yang Dian, of course, didn’t know that Lao Bai was preparing to shock him for a few seconds with his still-in-design star destroyer.
Even if he knew, he would just laugh it off.
Although he currently only had the power to destroy surface civilizations, that was only for now.
After he finished digesting his gains, he would probably be able to blow up continental shelves.
With that power, he would be able to descend upon the Emerald Dragon Star with overwhelming force, forcibly enter the core of the Emerald Dragon Star, and collect its core energy.
The energy stored in the Emerald Dragon Star’s core must surely be more than what was stored in the Strange Star’s core, right?
After digesting that energy, he would likely be able to achieve the Star Remains Realm, possessing the power to destroy stars.
Lao Bai’s star destroyer would still need to overload its main cannon to destroy a star.
But him!
As his thought arrived, the planet would naturally explode.
Of course, Yang Dian didn’t know Lao Bai’s plans right now.
He was currently trying to combine Myriad Qi Returning to Source with Unity of Man and Nature, magnetic field manipulation, and other unique abilities to employ more methods.
‘So, can it be done this way…’
In his thoughts, dust and iron filings, swept into the sky by the endless gale, converged into a hiltless longsword at Yang Dian’s command, cutting through heaven and earth.
Water and fire runes frequently appeared within the storm, constantly changing the storm’s internal temperature, making its scorching parts burn like a star, and its icy parts seem capable of freezing time.
However, as the temperature became unbalanced, the storm, which was originally completely under Yang Dian’s control, began to grow turbulent and was on the verge of losing control.
“My mastery of rules is still not enough…”
Muttering, Yang Dian retracted his outstretched hands.
As his Mental Energy receded, the Qi and blood energy that had emanated from his body and leveraged the natural forces of heaven and earth dissipated without a trace. The storm, which seemed capable of ending the world, also began to self-dissipate after swirling with a “whooshing” sound for a while, eventually vanishing without a trace.
On the other side, Dr. Bai’s projection, standing beside Yang Dian and noticing that he had withdrawn his Divine Ability, spoke:
“Your current strength can already be called world-ending, can’t it?”
Yang Dian nodded slightly, then shook his head:
“It depends on where.”
“If it’s on Earth, Mars, or planets and worlds like Wuhou Grotto-heaven, the Strange Star, or the Emerald Dragon Star, my strength can indeed be called world-ending.”
“But if it’s against the Great Yu Immortal Dynasty, a Minor Star God, or a Great Star God, my strength falls a bit short.”
“If I were thrown onto a neutron star, I estimate I would be directly torn into an atomic state by the neutron star’s gravity.”
“So everything is relative.”
Dr. Bai was somewhat speechless.
He found that no matter what he said, Yang Dian liked to argue a bit.
‘When I create the star destroyer, let’s see how you argue with me…’
Yang Dian didn’t know that Lao Bai was secretly competing with him again.
After testing his strength, he intended to bid farewell to Lao Bai:
“My strength test is pretty much done. I should be able to crush ordinary creatures on the Emerald Dragon Star and contend with the Emerald Dragon God.”
“Next, I plan to conquer the Dragon Star. You keep an eye on Earth; call me if anything happens.”
Dr. Bai nodded slightly:
“Go with peace of mind, Earth has me.”
Seeing Yang Dian about to leave without another word, Dr. Bai then spoke again:
“Oh, by the way, if you encounter the Emerald Dragon God, remember to collect some of its body tissues for me.”
“Heart, liver, spleen, lungs, kidneys, blood, bone marrow, scales, brain cells…”
“I want it all.”
Yang Dian was speechless:
“Why don’t you just tell me to capture the Emerald Dragon God alive for you?”
Dr. Bai blinked:
“Can you?”
“That would be even better.”
“I’ll try to use the Emerald Dragon God as a blueprint to clone some Emerald Dragons with strong growth potential…”
