788: Lao Bai's worries, sudden accidents

The sea of stars is vast, yet the ends of the world are but a stone's throw away.

It took a few minutes to arrive at Mars under Lao Bai's incoherent guidance.

As for why it was Lao Bai providing the guidance, and why it was so incoherent?

Naturally, it was because after Lao Bai learned that Yang Dian did not yet know how to perform curvature flight, he volunteered to teach him the method of warp flight.

However, Lao Bai's warp flight relied on the power of technology, consisting of various formulas and energy conversions.

Yang Dian's space Transmigration relied on the utilization of rules, depending mostly on 'enlightenment'.

Talking science to Yang Dian was nothing but incoherent nonsense, wasn't it?

Fortunately, Lao Bai later realized that explaining formulas to Yang Dian was useless, so he resorted to using various adjectives instead.

For instance, how something might be, roughly how it might be, and what kind of changes space would generally undergo...

Through Lao Bai's diligent descriptions, Yang Dian finally mastered the warp flight technique, which was for the time being, not very useful.

It was nothing more than creating a space bubble around oneself, compressing space in front and expanding it behind to complete an equivalent faster-than-light displacement, keeping oneself in a relatively static state within the warp bubble, circumventing the speed of light limit of special relativity to achieve the goal of faster-than-light flight.

Saying it was not very useful meant that warp flight was both too fast and too slow.

When Yang Dian used warp flight at full power, his speed could reach about six times the speed of light.

Fast or slow? Slow.

The diameter of the Universe observed by humans is about 93 billion light-years, and the edge of the observable Universe is expanding at three times the speed of light.

This meant that if Yang Dian flew at six times the speed of light, he would have to fly for 186 billion years to touch the edge of the observable Universe.

But was this speed slow? It was fast.

It was so fast that Yang Dian hadn't even reacted before he had flown several laps around Mars following the magnetic field.

If it weren't for the fact that warp flight was completed in Subspace, or rather, in an interlayer of space, the surface of Mars would have been torn apart by him, and even the protective shield of Mars Base City No. 1 would have been ripped open.

Yang Dian's consciousness and the speed of his thought processes were simply insufficient for him to master such a high speed.

"What a pity."

"If I could fully receive all the information generated by the world while in a state of six times the speed of light, I could be invincible among the Fourth Realm, and perhaps even have a chance to counter-kill the Fifth Realm or beat the Stellar Ancestor."

Dr. Bai, who had felt slightly dizzy from receiving excessive information during the faster-than-light flight, glanced at Yang Dian and said, "That's not necessarily true."

"Who knows what kind of abilities those terrifying existences capable of destroying stars possess? Using a Fourth Realm body to counter-kill them is, after all, a high-risk endeavor of fighting above one's weight class."

"Your strength is increasing rapidly; there is no need to take such risks."

"What we want is absolute safety, ideally suppressing others with our Realm."

Thinking of the classification of strength in the Universe, Yang Dian couldn't help but rub his temples.

"How could it be that easy?"

"The strongest known race is the Star God race, which has Ninth Realm Star Gods."

"But we only know that to become an Eighth Realm, one needs to thoroughly master a rule power."

"The Ninth Realm is suspected to be a singularity, the origin of the Universe."

"Of course, that's just a suspicion."

"We don't even know how to enter the Ninth Realm, let alone how to surpass the Ninth Realm and use our Realm to crush Ninth Realm Star Gods."

Lao Bai felt a bit annoyed.

What he meant by suppressing with Realm was using the Fifth Realm to fight the Fourth Realm, using the Sixth Realm to fight the Fifth Realm, and fighting one's way up step by step.

Yang Dian, on the other hand, wanted to skip straight to the end, targeting the strongest in the known Universe directly.

However... he liked the goal Yang Dian had set for himself.

"The Ninth Realm Star Gods of the Star God race are only the strongest in the known Universe; it's not certain that there are no paths to the Ninth Realm or beyond outside the known Universe."

"Besides, even if there are no paths beyond the Ninth Realm in both the known and unknown parts of our Universe, aren't there still other dimensions?"

Lao Bai tapped his own brow, pointing to the Dimension Butterfly that 'lived' in Yang Dian's brow.

"With this little thing here, perhaps we can go visit other dimensions."

"To be honest, I'm really curious about what Earth in other dimensions is like—whether it's like ours, appearing prosperous and flourishing, but in reality, walking on thin ice."

Yang Dian scratched his head.

"Sigh~ We're getting further and further off-topic."

"Crossing dimensions, Ninth Realm myths."

"We have to prepare to GG whenever we encounter a Fifth Realm now, so let's just finish the task at hand first."

As he spoke, Yang Dian looked at the bracelet on Lao Bai's wrist: "Taichu, notify the Mars immigrants to assemble."

"According to the investigation report, divide the people into two groups."

"The 2.26% who want to return to Earth and everyone else."

"I will take the 2.26% who want to return to Earth directly back to Earth, and for the remaining people, I will leave a teleportation channel in the Mars base leading to a dead star in an alien galaxy."

As he spoke, he swiped open the panel to take a look, then finally looked at Dr. Bai: "Should I just send them to the No. 7 Pioneer Base in the Tiannan Star system?"

Dr. Bai nodded: "That's fine, all the Pioneer Bases are pretty much the same anyway."

After responding, he hesitated slightly and said: "You're taking that group who wants to return to Earth back directly?"

Yang Dian raised an eyebrow: "Is there a problem?"

"Because without the assistance of the territory map, without the pressure of life-and-death crises, without an atmosphere of nationwide martial arts practice, and without the feedback of Spiritual Qi tides, plus the relatively lazy Cultivate atmosphere in the base city."

"The strength of the Mars immigrants is generally on the low side."

Lao Bai looked at the flow of people who were successively exiting their virtual game pods, leaving their homes, and gathering towards the major squares of the base city, and said with some worry: "Therefore, most people's martial arts strength has only just reached the point of sensing Qi and blood, stepping into the first Realm of martial arts, the Qi Sensing Realm. A small portion haven't even sensed Qi and blood, and can only be considered physically strong ordinary people. Only a very small fraction have stepped into the second Realm of martial arts, the Qi Nourishing Realm."

"After swallowing two Alien Planets, Earth's gravity has increased by two times compared to before."

"If you pull them over directly, won't it cause them serious injury?"

Yang Dian chuckled upon hearing this: "It's just an injury, it's not like it can't be treated."

"If you're afraid of getting injured, why even practice martial arts?"

"You surely know how many people on Earth end up in the hospital every day because of over-Cultivation, right?"

"If they can't even endure this little bit of hardship, they shouldn't stay on Earth; they should just go to the Pioneer Base in the Tiannan Star system to retire."

Lao Bai opened his mouth, but after retrieving the relevant information, he closed it again.

Yang Dian was right.

When the territory map was originally refined, Gravity Beads were integrated into it. Martial Artists who had ignited their Spark could communicate with the territory map and increase the gravity acting upon themselves.

Therefore, while it seemed that Earth's gravity had only increased by three times, the reality was that all the Martial Artists who remained on Earth, regardless of age or gender, with the exception of physically fragile infants, were almost all bearing the limit of gravity they could withstand, or even exceeding the limit they could withstand, while Cultivating.

The immigrants returning from Mars were already many steps behind the people on Earth, and without the determination to risk their lives, they truly wouldn't be able to catch up to that group of Cultivation fanatics on Earth.

"I hope they can still adapt to the rhythm of Earth."

Amidst his reflection, he saw that Yang Dian's expression had become a bit more solemn.

"What's wrong?"

Yang Dian smiled bitterly: "The world really doesn't shift according to individual will."

"It seems we are not the protagonists either..."
