After hearing Shen Ya's naive words, Shen Yan responded with a sigh and said helplessly, "Forget it, you should just eat."

Just as he finished speaking, Liu Hui walked into the room and handed him a black envelope.

"What is this?"

Hearing Shen Yan's puzzled question, Liu Hui lifted her chin and said, "Open it and take a look."

Shen Yan did as he was told.

He immediately discovered that there was an invitation inside the envelope.

"Gu Corporation?!"

Shen Yan was shocked.

He looked at Liu Hui with a face full of disbelief, his voice trembling slightly with excitement.

"How do you have an invitation to a Gu Corporation banquet?"

Liu Hui gave a somewhat embarrassed smile.

"A professor gave it to me. He said he couldn't go that day and suggested I go there to check it out."

At this point, she breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Fortunately, I didn't throw this invitation away, or I wouldn't have been able to help you."

Shen Ya glanced at Shen Yan and then at Liu Hui.

"Sister Hui, aren't you a doctor? Is this Gu Corporation also in the medical field?"

Liu Hui shook her head.

"No, the professor said this corporation focuses on Artificial Intelligence. He mentioned there would be many things not yet on the market at the banquet and wanted me to go see the world and have some fun."

Shen Ya suddenly understood.

"So that's how it is."

"Brother, see? I told you we could definitely help you!"

Shen Yan replied to Shen Ya crossly, "The only one who helped me was your Sister Hui, not you. Can you stop being so thick-skinned?"

Shen Ya made another face at Shen Yan.

"Blehh! I don't care. Sister Hui and I are one and the same! If she helped you, it's the same as me helping you. You have to give us a reward!"

Shen Yan laughed. As he tucked the invitation into his pocket, he said to the two of them, "Fine, fine, fine. What kind of reward do you want?"

Shen Ya looked at Liu Hui and whispered, "Sister Hui, what reward do you want? I'm telling you, my brother is very rich. You can make him buy you something expensive."

Liu Hui smiled and shook her head, saying, "No need. I have plenty of money myself; I don't need your brother to buy me expensive things."

She paused for a moment and then added, "Well... if I have to name a reward, I actually really hope your brother can take the two of us out to have some fun."

Shen Ya's eyes lit up, and she chimed in excitedly, "That works! Let my brother take the two of us on a trip!"

Seeing that the two of them had already started discussing the destination, Shen Yan quickly called for a halt.

"Wait! If it's a trip, I might not have that much time, or you might have to wait until I finish this busy period."

Shen Ya narrowed her eyes and asked, "Then how long do we have to wait?"

Shen Yan hesitated for a moment before answering, "Wait until... I finish the first round of the project?"

Shen Ya fell silent.

Seeing her unhappy face, Shen Yan said helplessly, "Don't sit there sulking with me. I really don't have the time. If it weren't for this project being so important, I wouldn't have been so desperate for that Gu Corporation invitation."

Liu Hui also chimed in to persuade her, "It's okay. We'll have plenty of time in the future anyway. Let your brother finish his work before he takes us out to play."

Shen Ya's eyes widened.

"Sister Hui, whose side are you on? How can you speak for my brother?"

Liu Hui replied, caught between laughter and tears, "I really feel like it doesn't matter, as long as your brother has time to go with us."

Since she had put it that way, what else could Shen Ya say?

"Fine, fine, fine. We'll do as you say. Take us on a trip once you have the time."

Seeing that the little ancestor had finally relented, Shen Yan breathed a long sigh of relief.

He placed his hand under the table, quietly took Liu Hui's hand, and squeezed her palm.

Noticing Shen Yan's small gesture, Liu Hui turned to look at him and gave a slight smile with pursed lips.

Soon, the meal concluded in a pleasant atmosphere.

Since Shen Yan had other matters to attend to, he left Shen Ya at Liu Hui's house and went to the company himself.

"Old Shen?!"

Looking at Shen Yan, who had suddenly appeared at the company, Chen Guangke asked with a look of surprise, "Didn't you say you weren't coming to work today? Why did you suddenly show up?"

Shen Yan pulled the envelope out of his pocket and tossed it onto Chen Guangke's desk.

"Take a look at what this is."

Chen Guangke picked up the envelope from the desk with a look of total confusion.

A moment later, he asked in shock, "Holy crap! Isn't this an invitation to the Gu Corporation's Business Banquet? How did you get your hands on this!"

Shen Yan pulled out the chair next to him and sat down, answering, "Liu Hui gave it to me."

Chen Guangke blinked and asked, completely bewildered, "Liu Hui? Isn't she a doctor? How would she have an invitation to a Gu Corporation banquet? Could it be... that the Gu Corporation is actually involved in the medical field too?"

Hearing this, Shen Yan burst out laughing.

He found that Chen Guangke's train of thought was surprisingly consistent with Shen Ya's; both of them had the same peculiar way of thinking.

"No, this invitation was given to her by one of her professors, who told her to go to the banquet and have some fun."

Chen Guangke gave an "oh" and then looked ecstatic.

"Then with this invitation, can we get into the banquet?"

Shen Yan nodded and said, "Yes. The date written on the invitation is the 25th, which is fifteen days from now."

"During these fifteen days, the two of us need to make some proper preparations."

Hearing this, Chen Guangke found it a bit strange and asked Shen Yan, "It's just attending a banquet. What preparations do we need to make?"

Shen Yan, frustrated that his partner wasn't catching on, jabbed Chen Guangke in the abdomen with his elbow.

"You've been with me for so long; can't your brain be a little more sharp?"

Chen Guangke doubled over in pain and, exasperated, stomped back on Shen Yan's foot, saying, "Just talk! Why are you attacking me personally?!"

Shen Yan shook his head and said helplessly, "Why do you think I want to attend this banquet?"

Chen Guangke frowned and replied, "To build connections with their people, of course."

Shen Yan nodded and added, "Besides that, I want them to invest in my artificial intelligence project."

Chen Guangke: "...Are you crazy?"

Shen Yan raised an eyebrow and asked back, "Do I look crazy right now?"

Chen Guangke nodded without hesitation. He frantically ran his hands through his hair twice and asked Shen Yan, "No... but why?!"

"We finally managed to get the project running independently, and now you want to seek investment again!"

Shen Yan patted Chen Guangke's shoulder, signaling him to stay calm.

"I've been catching up on my homework in this field lately, and I've realized that this artificial intelligence project is simply too much of a money pit."
