377: Chapter 377 The Code of Traffic

It turned out his decision was correct.

No matter how much he rehearsed, his perspective on the project was completely different from Jiang Yuan's.

He was a businessman; his view of any project would always be premised on profit.

Jiang Yuan was a researcher; his view of any project would always be premised on feasibility and planning.

Compared to the two, investors would likely prefer Jiang Yuan to explain the project.

As for whether the investors would actually invest, that would be a matter between him and the investors later on.

As he was thinking, Jiang Yuan had already finished explaining the project.

After the project explanation, it was time for the reporters' questions. A reporter raised his hand and asked Jiang Yuan:

"Researcher Jiang, I just heard you repeatedly say this project is achievable, but so far, our field of Artificial Intelligence has no precedent for this."

As soon as the words fell, Jiang Yuan replied to the reporter with a solemn expression: "It is precisely because there is no precedent that we must bravely forge ahead."

"Go back a few hundred years, and we didn't have washing machines either. If someone hadn't bravely pioneered that unfamiliar field, would we be able to use such a thing now?"

As soon as he finished answering, another reporter raised his hand to ask a question.

"You keep saying you want to create an Artificial Intelligence that possesses its own thoughts, but aren't you afraid that the Artificial Intelligence will turn around and rule us?"

Hearing the question, Jiang Yuan slightly curled his lips.

"Although I know saying this now might not be appropriate, I still have to ask you, have you been watching too many novels and TV dramas?"

The reporter hadn't expected Jiang Yuan to speak like that.

His expression shifted several times.

"Although I usually enjoy watching novels and TV dramas, I don't believe the possibility I mentioned doesn't exist."

Jiang Yuan nodded.

"You might have misunderstood. I am not denying the possibility you mentioned exists. The reason I asked that just now was simply to understand the scenario of Artificial Intelligence ruling humanity in your perception."

The reporter looked completely puzzled.

"What do you mean?"

Jiang Yuan patiently explained: "Although I am a researcher, I also have my own free time. I quite enjoy reading novels in my spare time. Although I don't watch many science fiction ones, I have heard of them occasionally."

"From what I understand, the concept of Artificial Intelligence ruling humanity in many novels and TV dramas is just pseudo-logic."

"I don't know if you can understand what I'm saying, but it's like if I told you I killed you, would you then kill me?"

"I have clearly already killed you, yet I have to doubt the dead person—can you kill me?"

The reporter frowned.

"Researcher Jiang, I believe these two concepts cannot be merged."

Jiang Yuan nodded.

"At first glance, these two concepts indeed cannot be unified. However, what I mean is that the Artificial Intelligence enters the world we create; this means we are their creator gods."

"We can embed certain pre-set programs into its code. It's just like how everyone has a mother; once we research and create it, we become its mother."

"What I mean by allowing Artificial Intelligence to have self-awareness is not to let it act completely as it pleases, but to allow it to generate its own behavioral logic within the confines of its inherent programming."

Jiang Yuan became more engrossed as he spoke.

The reporters, meanwhile, opened their laptops and furiously typed up everything Jiang Yuan said.

By the time all the reporters had finished their questions, it was already six in the evening.

"Alright, it seems everyone has asked what they wanted to ask. Today's press conference concludes here. I hope everyone can look forward to the project we are about to launch."

Hearing this, the reporters cheered loudly:

"We will certainly look forward to it!"

"Yes, it sounds incredibly exciting!"

"Although I don't completely understand what Researcher Jiang was saying, that doesn't stop me from thinking this is a great project!"

Seeing the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the reporters, Shen Yan smiled and said to them: "Since you share my anticipation, please write your reports beautifully, making sure investors see them and are as happy as possible."

As soon as he finished speaking,

the reporters burst into laughter again.

The press conference ended, and the live broadcast concluded simultaneously.

Shen Yan and Jiang Yuan stepped off the stage together.

Shen Yan saw Chen Guangke squatting nearby looking at his computer. Shen Yan walked over, patted Chen Guangke's shoulder, and asked, "The press conference is over, why are you still squatting here?"

Hearing Shen Yan's question, Chen Guangke gasped and said to Shen Yan: "Do you know how many followers we gained on our software account after the press conference ended?"

As soon as he heard this, Shen Yan knew their account on their software must have gained quite a few followers. He guessed casually: "One hundred thousand? Two hundred thousand? Three hundred thousand?"

Chen Guangke shook his head like a rattle drum.

"No! None of those!"

"Our account gained a full 1.28 million followers! And every single one of these followers was organic!"

Shen Yan raised an eyebrow, surprise coloring his face.

He truly hadn't expected a single press conference to bring them 1.28 million active followers.

"How could it suddenly increase so much? Is there a bug in the system?"

Chen Guangke's face immediately darkened.

"What do you mean by that? Are you questioning the program I developed?"

Shen Yan put his arm around Chen Guangke's shoulder.

"Of course, that's not what I meant. I just want to ask what exactly happened."

Chen Guangke also looked confused.

"How would I know what happened? I just glanced at the software a moment ago and found that the backend message notifications for our software had completely exploded."

Saying this, he casually tapped open the backend, showing one of the messages that had just been sent:

"[Ahhh! CEO Shen, can you come to my house? I lack nothing recently, except a husband~]"

Seeing this message, both Shen Yan and Chen Guangke fell into an eerie silence.

After a few seconds, Chen Guangke expressionlessly tapped the message away.

He cleared his throat, stood up, and patted Shen Yan's shoulder.

"It's fine. We sacrifice your happiness for the happiness of everyone in our company."

Shen Yan got goosebumps from what he said. He shook off Chen Guangke's hand with disgust: "Stop saying such terrifying things. I didn't do anything!"

Chen Guangke winked at him.

"You haven't done anything now, but based on your face, I've decided that from now on, our company account will only post your videos. I'm sure our account will gain quite a few likes."

Shen Yan gave Chen Guangke's cheek a wry pinch.

"I ask you, are you tired of living? You actually want to make me the Traffic Code?!"

Chen Guangke looked at Shen Yan with surprise.

"You actually know about the Traffic Code?!"

Shen Yan rolled his eyes.

"Although I don't browse short videos much, I'm not an elderly person. I still know such commonly used slang."
