713: Chapter 78 Misty Mountain

Hearing that they could become good friends, Youyou's eyes immediately lit up.

"Great! Then let's set off quickly! We can't keep Snowball's mom waiting too long!"

A child's world is that simple and pure.

Shen Yan stood up and looked at Liu Hui.

Liu Hui had sensed something since he came in, and now she just smiled gently.

"Find a clue?"

She didn't ask about the process or the details, only offering complete trust.

"A general direction," Shen Yan took her hand. "It might be tough, we have to leave right now."

"Okay, I'll go pack things up."

Liu Hui rose immediately without the slightest hesitation and walked toward the bedroom.

This was the woman he loved: always understanding, always keeping pace with him.

Shen Yan took out his phone and dialed Robert, who was in charge of island security.

"Robert."

"Sir, please instruct."

"Prepare the gulfstream g650, flight plan application for Lingnan City. Departure in one hour."

No extra explanation, just the most concise command.

"Yes, sir."

This was Shen Yan's style of operation now.

For a system mission, for his daughter's wish, he could unhesitatingly deploy his private jet worth hundreds of millions for a trip that could start on a whim.

This confidence stemmed from his constantly expanding power.

Half an hour later, everything was ready.

Youyou was holding a temperature-controlled pet carrier. Snowball was lying on the soft cushion inside, curiously observing the outside.

The family of three took the shuttle bus to the tarmac next to the private pier.

The gulfstream g650's sleek fuselage reflected a dazzling light under the sun. The engines had already started, emitting a low roar.

The ramp was lowered, and the flight attendants stood respectfully to the side.

"Dad, is this big airplane ours too?" Youyou looked up, her eyes full of little stars.

"Yes. From now on, wherever Youyou wants to go, it can take us there," Shen Yan smiled, picked up his daughter, and strode up the ramp.

The interior of the plane was luxurious and comfortable.

There were wide leather sofas, a fully equipped bar, and even a separate lounge.

Youyou quickly forgot her reluctance to leave and excitedly ran around the cabin.

The plane ascended smoothly, piercing through the clouds.

The 'Heart of the Ocean' Island rapidly shrank in their view, finally becoming a green jewel on the azure sea surface.

Liu Hui poured warm goat's milk for Youyou and Snowball before walking over to sit next to Shen Yan.

"Is it really okay?" she asked softly, a hint of worry in her eyes. "From Ning Ke's tone, that Lin family seems complicated."

Shen Yan enveloped his wife's hand in his palm.

"Don't worry, we aren't going there to cause trouble."

"We are going to return a lost treasure that has been recovered."

There was a reassuring confidence in his tone.

"For a truly established family, a gesture of goodwill is far more precious than any monetary gift."

He looked at the surging sea of clouds outside the window, his gaze profound.

Returning a cat was the surface action.

Knocking on a door was the true objective.

An opportunity to access the world's true elite was slowly unfolding before him, carried by this little cat named Snowball.

Two hours later, the plane landed smoothly at the private airport in Lingnan City.

A black rolls-royce Cullinan was already waiting quietly beside the tarmac.

The driver respectfully opened the car door.

"Mr. Shen, hello. I am your temporary driver in Lingnan. Please get in."

"Head toward Wuyin Mountain."

Shen Yan, holding the now-asleep Youyou, gave the instruction to the driver.

"Yes, sir."

The vehicle started slowly, leaving the airport and merging into the traffic flow heading toward the city's outskirts.

Outside the car window, the city's bustling scenery rapidly receded.

However, Shen Yan's gaze was fixed on the distant skyline, on that continuous range of emerald mountains shrouded in clouds and mist.

Wuyin Mountain.

The Lin Family.

I have arrived.

The rolls-royce Cullinan drove extremely smoothly on the winding mountain road, with almost no discernible bumps.

But the driver's forehead was beaded with fine sweat.

At the end of the road ahead of the car, a dense, impenetrable white fog, like a cotton wall, had swallowed the entire mountain range.

An ancient stone archway, faintly visible, was inscribed with two vigorous, archaic characters—Wuyin.

"Mr. Shen."

The driver's voice was tight. He stopped the car steadily about a few dozen meters before the archway.

"We cannot go any further."

"Why?" Shen Yan's voice came from the back seat, still calm.

"There is no why; it is the rule," the driver glanced at the distinguished man through the rearview mirror, his tone carrying a trace of awe and warning. "Beyond this archway is another world. People like us who enter will never come out."

His words were exactly the same as Ning Ke's warning.

This was not an exaggeration but an iron law verified by countless facts.

Shen Yan did not make things difficult for him.

"Stop here, thank you for your trouble."

"Sir..." The driver wanted to persuade him further, but seeing Shen Yan's unfathomable eyes, all words were stuck in his throat.

He knew that a decision made by someone like this was not something a mere driver could change.

The car door opened.

Air mixed with the fresh scent of vegetation and moist vapor rushed out, instantly invigorating them.

Liu Hui held Youyou's hand, and Shen Yan carried the carrier containing Snowball. The family of three got out of the car.

The driver watched their receding figures, hesitated repeatedly, and finally rolled down the window to shout one last time.

"Mr. Shen, if you don't come out before dark, I'll have to leave!"

Shen Yan did not look back, merely waving his hand behind him.

The Cullinan paused for a moment, then finally turned around, carrying a hint of alarm, and quickly vanished down the road they had come from.

Beneath the archway, only Shen Yan's family remained.

"Dad, that uncle looked very scared," Youyou tilted her small face up, somewhat puzzled.

Shen Yan smiled and ruffled his daughter's hair.

"Because that is someone else's home ahead. It is impolite for us to come without being invited, so the uncle was scared."

"Then are we also impolite children?"

"No," Shen Yan squatted down, looking seriously into his daughter's eyes. "We are here to take Snowball home. We come with goodwill, so there is no need to be afraid."

He took his daughter's hand, held Liu Hui's hand with the other, and stepped across the stone archway.

One step away, it was as if they had entered another time and space.

The car horns and clamor from behind were completely shut out.

All they could hear was the rustling sound of the wind blowing through the forest and the crisp chirping of unknown birds.

Beneath their feet was a mountain path paved with bluestone slabs, winding upward, with no end in sight. The slabs were covered in moss, clearly having endured countless storms and years.
