612: Chapter 67 The 'Gift' Brought Back

The blank space in the 'Father' column concealed a melodramatic yet starkly realistic story.

The Qi Family.

That established, powerful old clan, whose foundation lay deep in traditional industry, known for their domineering methods.

This mission was like someone handing him a pillow just as he was dozing off.

He had been worrying that while he was advancing rapidly in the emerging Future Technology sector, his foundation in traditional industry circles remained shallow.

The Qi Family was a perfect breakthrough point.

And he wasn't doing charity.

Helping Lin Shen and Lin Mo was an investment.

It meant driving two nails of revenge deep into the heart of the Qi Family, while simultaneously securing the absolute loyalty of two geniuses.

This deal was incredibly worthwhile.

Shen Yan's fingertips stopped tapping.

He looked at the two brothers across from him; his gaze was no longer one of scrutiny.

It was the appreciation of a hunter who had spotted the perfect prey.

"How much does the Qi Family give you every month?" Shen Yan suddenly asked.

"...Five hundred thousand," Lin Shen replied softly.

"Five hundred thousand, buying the lives of two geniuses and the life of your mother. Qi Zhenxiong's calculation is quite precise."

Shen Yan's tone carried a hint of faint mockery.

"Are you content with this?"

He asked.

Lin Shen and Lin Mo abruptly looked up.

Content? How could they be content!

Every time they withdrew that humiliating sum from the Bank, every time they saw their mother suffering from illness, every time they woke up at midnight recalling that man's indifferent eyes...

Unwillingness, like poisonous weeds, grew wildly in their hearts.

"If we're not content, then what can we do?" Lin Mo's voice was hoarse with despair. "We are just two students. What can we use to fight them?"

"Use me."

Shen Yan uttered two words lightly.

The air in the entire conference room seemed to freeze at that moment.

Lin Shen and Lin Mo looked at Shen Yan with eyes that seemed to regard him as a madman.

They didn't understand.

Why would Shen Yan provoke a behemoth like the Qi Family for the sake of two nobodies like them?

It didn't make logical sense.

"Mr. Shen, you..."

"I never engage in unprofitable business."

Shen Yan leaned back in his chair, crossing his hands, looking relaxed.

"I will give you a choice, or rather, we will make a deal."

"Option A: I will offer you a contract with an annual salary of ten million, hiring you as the chief researchers for my Artificial Intelligence laboratory. I will arrange for the world's best medical team to take over your mother's care. From now on, you can focus on your research, and the Qi Family's affairs will have nothing to do with you."

He paused, noticing the flicker of interest in their eyes.

Then, he changed his tone.

"Option B."

"I will not only provide you with the lab and the best treatment for your mother. I will also give you a platform, capital, connections, and the opportunity... to take revenge on the Qi Family."

"I want you to return to the place where your names should have belonged, and take back everything that is yours, with interest."

Boom!

Lin Shen and Lin Mo's minds were struck by a nuclear bomb.

They were so stunned by Shen Yan's words that they felt dizzy and could barely think.

Revenge? Take everything back?

These were things they dared not even imagine in their dreams.

"Why?" Lin Shen's voice trembled.

"Why would you do this? What benefit is there for you?"

"Benefit?" Shen Yan smiled.

"The benefit is that I dislike the operating style of that old man from the Qi Family."

"The more important benefit is that I never invest in Employees; I only invest in 'assets'."

"When you control the Qi Family, you, and the Qi Family behind you, will all become one of my most valuable assets, Shen Yan. And all I require is your loyalty."

"An absolute loyalty that cannot be betrayed."

His words were like a devil's whisper, filled with fatal temptation.

He placed a contract and a dragon-slaying sword before them simultaneously.

Should they choose to live safely, burdened by humiliation and unwillingness?

Or should they choose a thorny, bloody path to fight for an unknown future?

Shen Yan said no more.

He gave them time to think.

In the conference room, only the heavy breathing of the two brothers remained.

Lin Mo looked at his older brother, his eyes filled with excitement and longing.

Lin Shen, however, was undergoing an internal struggle.

He knew that once they agreed, their lives would change completely.

They would transform from pawns into players.

They would also step onto an unprecedented, treacherous battlefield.

The cost might be utter destruction.

After a long while.

Lin Shen raised his head. The bloodshot veins in his eyes had faded, replaced by an unprecedented brightness.

It was a flame that had been suppressed for too long, finally finding an outlet to rage.

He looked at Shen Yan and said word by word:

"Mr. Shen."

"My brother and I choose the latter."

The corner of Shen Yan's mouth finally curved into a slight arc.

He stood up and extended his hand to Lin Shen.

"Welcome to Future Technology."

"And welcome to the new battlefield."

Lin Shen also stood up and firmly shook that hand.

It felt very warm.

Very strong.

As if he were grasping his entire future.

Shen Yan released his hand.

But the strength seemed to linger in Lin Shen's hand.

"Sit," Shen Yan gestured for them to sit again, and he resumed his seat.

The previous atmosphere of tension, temptation, and decision vanished.

It was replaced by a deeper level of calm and prudence belonging to allies.

The smart system in the conference room silently collected the finished coffee cups and brought two cups of warm water.

The mastery was evident in the details.

"Since you have chosen the most difficult path, let's discuss how to take the first step."

Shen Yan's voice was unhurried, as if discussing an ordinary business project.

But Lin Shen and Lin Mo knew that what they were about to discuss was a war against the colossal Qi Family.

Lin Mo subconsciously straightened his back, his face still bearing the lingering flush of excitement and tension.

Lin Shen appeared calmer. He forced himself to settle down, his mind beginning to race, considering all possibilities.

"The Qi Family's foundation lies in traditional logistics and real estate. Their network is deeply entrenched and spreads throughout the capital. Trying to defeat them head-on from the outside is tantamount to striking a rock with an egg."

Shen Yan's finger drew an invisible line on the smooth tabletop.

"Therefore, you cannot appear as my Employee, nor can you appear as personnel from 'Future Technology'."

"Your identity will remain that of Qi Zhenxiong's illegitimate sons who were cast out."

"However, this time, you are not going there to beg; you are going to 'return'."

Lin Shen frowned. "Return? They won't acknowledge us. In their eyes, we are a stain, a problem."

"That depends on how heavy the 'gift' you bring back is."
