807: Chapter 82 Can this kid really do it?

"The video Liu Hui posted. Youyou drew a picture at school just now and said it was for you."

Chen Guangke walked over holding a tablet, the screen showing a little girl with pigtails holding up a colorful sheet of drawing paper, her eyes curved into crescents as she smiled.

Shen Yan took the tablet, and the decisive, ruthless aura he possessed moments ago instantly dissipated.

His fingers gently stroked his daughter's smiling face on the screen, his gaze becoming exceptionally gentle.

"It's a good drawing."

That was the only pure land he wished to protect in this world full of schemes and bloodshed.

"When we get back, arrange a new identity for Lin Chi. Have him live in an apartment near the company, and raise the security level to the maximum."

Shen Yan handed the tablet back to Chen Guangke, his tone returning to calm.

"Understood."

The plane cut through the clouds, sunlight spilling onto Shen Yan's face.

But this light could not penetrate the abyss in his eyes.

The sky over Jinghai was about to change.

And those old fogeys still fighting tooth and nail over a few percentage points of logistics share had no idea what kind of tsunami was brewing.

Lin Chi was currently sitting on the leather sofa of the plane, looking at the sea of clouds outside the window, tightly clutching the case containing one million US dollars.

This was his first time on a private jet.

It was also the first time he felt that this, truly, was the world of the powerful.

"What would you like to drink?"

A flight attendant walked over and asked him with a smile.

Lin Chi waved his hands in a panic, "Water... water is fine."

Shen Yan sat opposite him, picking up the novel he hadn't finished reading again.

"Get used to it."

He said without looking up.

"You will often sit in this seat in the future, looking down upon this world."

Lin Chi froze for a moment, then nodded heavily.

He looked at Shen Yan's profile, secretly vowing that he must create that damned catalyst.

Not for anything else, but just to be worthy of Shen Yan's earlier words: 'subvert it.'

The plane flew steadily at an altitude of ten thousand meters.

Shen Yan's thoughts, however, had already drifted to Jinghai a few days later.

If they had 'mesaichi-7', Rock Technology's computational power bottleneck would be completely broken.

The 'Tianshu' Artificial Intelligence System, which had always remained on blueprints, could finally be activated.

By then, whether it was logistics, finance, or medicine, all industries would be reshaped under his algorithms.

A true wealthy person is not defined by how much money they possess.

But by the power to define the future.

Shen Yan closed the book and looked at the setting sun outside the window.

The rain in Jinghai City was pouring down heavily, as if trying to extinguish all the accumulated heat in the Jinghai.

The very bottom floor of the Rock Technology Building was known as the 'Zero Forbidden Zone.'

This area, originally used as a cold storage for the company's backup servers, had been transformed overnight into the most top-tier chemical laboratory in all of Jinghai.

The air was permeated with a never-fading scent of new renovation, mixed with the pungent smell of high-concentration ozone.

Chen Guangke leaned against the fingerprint lock by the door, a toothpick in his mouth, watching the manic figure inside.

Lin Chi hadn't slept in three days.

Ever since getting off the plane, this kid seemed to have undergone a soul change; the pitiful wretch who trembled in the Paphong pawnshop was gone.

In his place was a lunatic willing to burn his life away for a single formula.

In the center of the laboratory, the centrifuge worth forty million US dollars was emitting a terrifying scream.

"Boss, can this kid really do it?"

Chen Guangke spat out the toothpick, looking at the bill with some heartache.

"The waste of rare palladium alone in these three days is enough to buy an apartment in the Second Ring Road of Jinghai."

Shen Yan sat on the sofa behind the one-way glass, holding a freshly brewed Da Hong Pao, steam rising from it.

He didn't look at the bill, his gaze calmly passing through the glass, landing on that tube of cyan liquid.

"Some people burn money for warmth; some people burn money to watch fireworks."

Shen Yan took a sip of tea, his tone as flat as if discussing the weather.

"And he is forging a sword for me."

In the laboratory.

Lin Chi wore an oversized white coat, his hair a messy bird's nest, and his eyes bloodshot.

He clutched the record book tightly, mumbling indistinctly at a speed too fast to follow.

Several senior professors, originally hired by Rock Technology at high salaries, were now frowning in a corner.

They looked down on this unorthodox individual who didn't even have a college degree.

Especially Professor Liang, with his graying hair, a titan in domestic materials science, whom Shen Yan had spent a great deal to bring in to stabilize the situation.

"Nonsense! Utter nonsense!"

Professor Liang finally couldn't hold back and heavily slammed the data pad in his hand onto the table.

"The molecular structure is inherently unstable, and you still want to forcibly inject liquid metal? This isn't science, this is playing with lives!"

"If the experiment isn't stopped, this entire floor will be blown to the sky!"

Professor Liang's voice transmitted through the microphone to the observation room.

Chen Guangke glanced at Shen Yan, his hand already hovering over the intercom button.

"Brother Yan, Old Liang is throwing a fit. Should I...?"

"Tell him to shut up."

Shen Yan put down his teacup; the porcelain base hitting the glass coffee table made a crisp sound.

Chen Guangke pressed the call button.

"Professor Liang, the Boss says that here, science serves the result."

"If you feel it's dangerous, you can go upstairs for coffee. Don't delay Engineer Lin's work."

The laboratory fell into dead silence.

Professor Liang's face flushed the color of pig liver; he pointed at the one-way glass, his finger trembling.

No one had ever dared to speak to him like this, much less a nouveau riche who made his fortune in software.

Just then.

Lin Chi, who had been facing away from everyone, suddenly turned around.

He held up the test tube, his expression a mix of ferocity and fanaticism.

"Wrong... it's not a temperature issue, it's the carrier!"

Lin Chi rushed towards the operating console, shoving aside the assistant in front of him.

"Get me high-purity graphene solution! Quickly!"

The assistant froze, instinctively looking towards Professor Liang.

"Why are you looking at him! Look at me!"

Lin Chi roared, his voice hoarse like a worn-out bellows.

"I am in charge here, get me the solution! If you don't, I'll smash my way into the storeroom myself!"

That explosive power, suppressed for a long time, stunned everyone present.

This was the obsession of a genius.

In the face of truth, all authority and class distinctions were bullshit.

The assistant, with trembling hands, retrieved the solution, which was more expensive than gold, from the freezer.

Lin Chi snatched it and, without any hesitation, poured it directly into the churning, bubbling blue liquid.

"He's crazy... truly crazy..."

Professor Liang was so frightened he retreated several steps, even preparing to flee.

By all logic, this was equivalent to throwing a ladle of cold water into boiling oil.

However.

The expected explosion did not occur.
