87: Chapter 87 Voluntary Resignation

The executives looked at each other, replying, "We don't want to do anything; we just want an answer."

Chen Ling asked again, "What answer?"

One of the executives, seated closer to the front, replied, "The answer we want is whether you will continue to interfere with the company's projects or not?"

"CEO Chen, we do not deny your capabilities, but we believe your skills and expertise do not lie in the software domain. We hope that in the future, you will refrain from interfering with our company's software matters."

Hearing this, Chen Ling laughed.

She tapped the table with one hand and said to everyone across the table, "I think you all have forgotten one thing."

"I am the legal representative of this company, I am the CEO, and I hold shares."

"In short, this company is mine. I can do whatever I want in the company. By what right do you ask me not to interfere with you?"

Chen Ling's thinking was simple.

This company belonged to her.

All these people relied on her for their livelihood.

As the boss, she could do whatever she wanted.

"CEO Chen, we stick to our previous statement. You are capable, but you are not a talent in the software field. We still believe you are unsuitable to interfere with the company's software projects."

Seeing that the other party's attitude remained so rigid,

Chen Ling finally couldn't hold back and directly revealed her true colors.

"If you are truly so dissatisfied with me, then don't work in my company. You are merely a General Manager; by what right do you point fingers at me?"

The other party shot up from his seat.

"CEO Chen, you are correct. I am merely a General Manager and have no right to point fingers at you."

Chen Ling curved her lips in satisfaction.

Just as she thought the other party was about to apologize, he uttered words she hadn't expected.

"Therefore, CEO Chen, I am formally submitting my resignation here. I hope you will grant my request."

Chen Ling's eyes widened in disbelief.

This General Manager had joined the company before it went public.

His talent and management ability were both very strong.

He was not young either.

She never expected the other party to voluntarily offer his resignation.

"Why?"

The other party replied calmly, "There is no why. It's just that I am no longer suitable to continue working at this company."

Chen Ling gritted her teeth.

"You need to think this through. You are already this old; trying to find another company now will be an extremely difficult matter..."

Before she could finish speaking, the other party directly interrupted her.

"CEO Chen, please rest assured. I have already thought this matter through long ago."

"I came to work for your esteemed company previously because I felt its development situation and prospects were very good. Now, your esteemed company no longer meets my original requirements, so I formally submit my resignation to you."

After listening, Chen Ling almost laughed in anger.

This was clearly an insult, implying she was running the company into the ground!

"Fine. Since you want to leave on your own, I won't force you. You can go."

"However, let me make one thing clear: since you are leaving voluntarily, the company will not give you N+1 compensation, nor will it provide any other compensation."

"This means if you leave now, you will only receive your salary for the current month."

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone present gasped.

They were all thinking:

The General Manager had worked diligently in this company for so many years,

and in the end, he wouldn't even receive any severance pay.

CEO Chen was being a bit too ruthless.

The General Manager, however, did not share this sentiment. Since he could voluntarily offer his resignation, it meant he had already considered this aspect.

"Very well, CEO Chen. I will do my best to complete my final shift."

Seeing that the other party remained resolute, Chen Ling walked away with a cold expression.

Back in the office,

the secretary knocked on the door, enduring the low pressure.

"What? What is it now?!"

The secretary walked into the office with his head bowed and replied to Chen Ling, "CEO Chen, several more people have resigned this month..."

"If this continues, our company will soon be unable to operate normally."

Chen Ling couldn't understand.

She didn't understand why these people were resigning.

She treated them quite well, didn't she?

"Who are the people who resigned? If they are grassroots Employees, then don't worry about it."

Hearing this, the secretary handed the documents in his hand onto the desk.

"The people who resigned are basically mid to high-level staff. Their reason for resignation is uniformly poor health."

Chen Ling pursed her lips, picked up the documents from the desk, and began flipping through them page by page.

Then she discovered that all the people in these documents were familiar faces.

"Did they only say they were unwell and nothing else?"

The secretary nodded.

Although these people indeed said nothing other than feeling unwell, anyone with discerning eyes knew they were resigning because of Chen Ling.

Ever since Chen Ling took charge, the company's salary and benefits had been declining while the workload was increasing.

The gap was growing larger, and no one could accept such a drop.

So, they left one by one.

"Forget it, just let them go. One replacement for one position. It's good they left; it allows other young, capable people to step up!"

The secretary couldn't manage a smile.

He felt Chen Ling was deceiving herself.

Although their company was publicly listed, their turnover rate was simply too high.

Capable talents would not consider filling the gaps here.

They weren't fools; they wouldn't believe a company with a high turnover rate was a good company.

And if they couldn't fill these vacant positions promptly, their company would soon be unable to continue normal operations.

"CEO Chen... the HR Staff Manager reported that he can't recruit anyone right now..."

Chen Ling frowned and asked in a deep voice, "Why can't he recruit anyone?"

"Where is the problem?"

The secretary swallowed and replied, "Perhaps it's because many capable people are already working at other companies, so he can't find anyone..."

Chen Ling didn't believe this explanation.

It was close to the college graduation season; how could they not find anyone? It must be that the HR Staff Manager was being lazy, which is why the company couldn't recruit anyone.

"Don't tell me that. It's the college graduation season right now. If you can't find capable people, go recruit college students. They are the cheapest; let them fill in for now."

The secretary looked dejected.

It was true that recent college graduates were cheap,

but they didn't know anything. Putting them straight onto the job made mistakes easy to happen.

What if they made some huge mistake later?

Thinking this, he dared to say to Chen Ling, "CEO Chen, perhaps you should reconsider?"

"Slap!"

Chen Ling flung the documents directly onto the secretary.

"I hire you and pay you a salary so you can follow my orders, not defy them! Go do as I say right now!"
