529: Chapter 524 In-depth Assessment

Ms. Su, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly raised the microphone.

"Mr. Shen, I have a question."

Her voice drew everyone's attention.

"Your concept is grand, but the risk is equally huge."

"Before the 'Dawn' project achieves commercialization, what will Shenyan Technology use to support such massive R&D investment? Can the janus Project afford it?"

This question was even more fatal than Mr. Ling's interrogation.

Anyone could paint a pretty picture; where would the money come from?

Shen Yan glanced at her.

"Ms. Su has hit the nail on the head."

"My answer is very simple."

He paused, his gaze sweeping across the room.

"We will use the market to support the technology."

"The janus Project will officially open its first batch of commercial API interfaces to all partner enterprises next month."

"The covered areas include intelligent security, smart cities, and financial risk control."

As soon as the news broke, there was another stir among the audience.

Each of these three fields represented a trillion-level market.

"Opening the API means that janus will no longer be a closed laboratory project."

"It will become a platform, an empowering tool."

"The profits it generates will be enough to support 'Dawn' until the day of mass production."

Shen Yan put down the microphone.

"I have said all I need to say."

The entire venue fell silent for three seconds.

Then, thunderous applause erupted from the audience.

It was endless.

Long Tianzheng sat on the sofa, his face shifting between pale and ashen, the plastic water bottle in his hand crumpled out of shape.

He had completely become the backdrop for this forum, a clown.

Ms. Su looked at Shen Yan, her beautiful eyes flashing with brilliance, wondering what she was thinking.

The round-table forum concluded.

The Host announced the start of the summit's free networking session.

Almost the instant the words fell.

A tide-like crowd surged toward the stage.

They had only one target.

Shen Yan.

"Mr. Shen! I'm from Xinghe Capital; here is my card!"

"Mr. Shen, our Blue Sea Ventures is very interested in the janus API interface!"

"Mr. Shen, I work on smart city projects and hope to schedule a time to discuss things in depth with you!"

Countless hands reached out, countless business cards were thrust before his eyes.

The camera flashes were even more intense than before, almost blinding.

Shen Yan was surrounded in the center but showed no sign of panic.

He maintained a polite smile, accepting every business card and nodding slightly.

"Thank you."

"We hope to cooperate when the opportunity arises."

"For specific matters, you can contact my assistant."

His replies were appropriate and distant, neither appearing arrogant nor failing to clearly draw a boundary.

Chen Guangke had squeezed his way over at some point, forming a human wall beside him.

"Excuse me, please make way."

"Mr. Shen has another meeting to attend."

Wu Ya also followed, holding a bottle of water and handing it to Shen Yan.

The way she looked at Shen Yan was filled with admiration and a hint of barely perceptible tenderness.

Shen Yan took the water and twisted the cap open, taking a sip, his Adam's apple bobbing.

His gaze passed over the surging crowd and landed on Ms. Su in the distance.

Ms. Su had not crowded forward like everyone else.

She just stood where she was, quietly watching over there.

Their eyes met across the air for a moment.

Ms. Su raised her wine glass toward him, then turned and exited gracefully.

A man in a Versace suit managed to push his way in front of Shen Yan.

"Mr. Shen, I am the vice president of Tiansheng Group; my name is Ma Fei."

He wore a fawning smile.

"Our group has been deeply involved in the financial risk control field for many years; we hope to become one of the first partners for janus."

Shen Yan glanced at the business card he offered.

Tiansheng Group.

A company that made its fortune through P2P and had been operating in a gray area in recent years.

The system's database contained information on this company.

It had a notorious track record.

"Mr. Ma,"

Shen Yan's tone remained calm, "Cooperation can be discussed, but Shenyan Technology has its own screening standards."

"All partners must pass our background and risk assessment."

Ma Fei's smile stiffened.

He understood Shen Yan's unspoken meaning.

This was an implicit refusal.

"Mr. Shen..."

He still wanted to say something.

Shen Yan had already shifted his gaze to the next person, as if Ma Fei didn't exist.

Ma Fei's face turned the color of pig liver, but he dared not act up, so he retreated sullenly to the edge of the crowd.

Those around them saw the entire scene clearly.

Their evaluation of Shen Yan rose another level in their hearts.

This young man not only possessed foresight and courage.

He also had his own principles and bottom line.

He was not someone who would be blinded by capital and profit.

Such a person was more worthy of investment and more worthy of awe.

After dealing with them for another ten minutes.

The crowd's enthusiasm had not diminished in the slightest.

Chen Guangke glanced at his watch and whispered in Shen Yan's ear.

"Yan Zi, Long Tianzheng's assistant just sent a message. Elder Long is waiting for you in the VIP room on the top floor."

Shen Yan nodded.

"Everyone,"

He raised his voice slightly, "Thank you all for your enthusiasm."

"Shenyan Technology welcomes friends to come and communicate at any time."

"I have urgent matters to attend to, so I must excuse myself now."

With that, under the escort of Chen Guangke and several security personnel, he headed toward the VIP elevator.

The crowd automatically parted, creating a path.

Everyone's eyes followed his retreating figure.

Awe, envy, jealousy—various emotions intertwined.

But everyone understood one thing.

From this day forward.

In Shencheng's business circles, and even the entire Huaxia technology sphere.

The name Shen Yan would no longer be a rising star.

But a scorching sun that no one could ignore.

The next day, early in the morning.

A black phaeton silently slid into Shenyan Technology's underground garage.

At nine o'clock sharp.

A knock sounded on the door of Shen Yan's office.

"Please come in."

The man who walked in was around forty years old, his hair meticulously combed, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, and a Patek Philippe on his wrist.

His name was Zheng Hong, the vice president of Guojin Capital, and the executor sent by Long Tianzheng.

Zheng Hong's face was expressionless; he merely scanned Shen Yan's office quickly with a critical gaze.

Minimalist black, white, and gray—besides the necessary office equipment, there were no superfluous decorations.

It looked like a laboratory, not a boss's office.

"Mr. Shen, I am Zheng Hong."

He extended his hand, his tone strictly professional.

Shen Yan stood up and shook it.

"Mr. Zheng, please have a seat."

Zheng Hong did not sit down immediately. He took a document out of his briefcase and placed it on the desk.

"This is our preliminary letter of intent for investment."

"Before signing, I need to conduct an in-depth evaluation of the feasibility of the 'Dawn' project."

His underlying meaning was clear.

Elder Long might appreciate him, but that didn't mean Guojin Capital would invest money blindly.

The grand narrative from yesterday's summit needed to be translated into cold, hard numbers here.

"That is only proper."
