"Aren't you afraid of being late and making a bad impression on Liu Hui's parents?"

Shen Yan smiled and replied to him, "You've already called the lawyer. I should be able to get out of here in just over half an hour. What's there to be anxious about?"

Chen Guangke's gaze toward him gradually changed.

"You don't seem like someone who lacks common sense. How can you not even figure out the most basic thing?"

"Don't tell me you plan to visit your future father-in-law and mother-in-law empty-handed."

Shen Yan chuckled out loud.

He realized that Chen Guangke's thought process was becoming clearer and clearer.

"What are you thinking? I prepared the gift for visiting long ago. It's waiting at my place; I just need to go back and pick it up."

Hearing this, Chen Guangke breathed a sigh of relief.

"Luckily, you aren't that unreliable. If you truly were that unreliable, I would have to pack something from home to let you take to your in-laws."

Shen Yan raised an eyebrow and gently patted the back of Chen Guangke's head with his hand.

"Stop worrying so much about my marriage. You should worry about your own marriage too."

"Don't forget, we're about the same age."

Chen Guangke obviously knew he and Shen Yan were close in age.

"Alright, we can go now."

"What did the police say?"

The lawyer smiled and said to him, "This matter isn't complicated. Let's talk as we walk."

The lawyer nodded while taking down all of Shen Yan's demands on his phone.

"Okay, I understand. Your demands are an apology from them and a fair price, correct?"

Shen Yan hummed and asked, "Can you achieve that?"

The lawyer nodded calmly, "This isn't a very difficult matter. After... maybe a few months, it should be resolved."

Going to court was inherently a very long process.

So the timeframe the lawyer gave was within the range Shen Yan could accept.

"A few months is fine, as long as my demands are met."

As soon as he finished speaking.

The three people in the car fell silent.

It wasn't until the lawyer was dropped off at the law firm that Shen Yan and Chen Guangke said goodbye to the lawyer.
