81: Chapter 81 Mass Resignation
The secretary cleared her throat and said to Chen Ling, "I don't know what's going on either. I've already urged the project team three times today, but they just won't submit it."
"Why don't you go ask them yourself?"
Chen Ling snorted, got up, and walked toward the outside.
"Fine, I'll go ask them myself! I want to see just how busy they are? So busy they can't even hand in a data report!"
After speaking, she walked toward the project team's office area.
As soon as she arrived, she saw a group of people with dark circles under their eyes constantly typing on their keyboards.
"What are you all doing? Why haven't you uploaded the software's data report?"
"I pay your salaries, not to let you slack off and goof around!"
The project team members almost rolled their eyes to the ceiling upon hearing this.
"It's not that we intentionally aren't submitting the data report; it's just that we genuinely have no time!"
Chen Ling felt they were making excuses.
The software was already launched.
What else could this group of people be busy with?
Wasn't it just logging into the backend to check data?
Was it that troublesome?!
"Do you think I don't understand software? The software is already online, what else is there for you to be busy with?"
"Logging into the backend to check data—something this simple—and you can tell me you don't have time to do it?!"
The project team leader stood up and walked in front of Chen Ling, saying:
"Ms. Chen, you've misunderstood us. We aren't lying."
"We truly have no time. If you don't believe us, look."
Saying this, she handed over a report.
Chen Ling didn't even look at it and threw the document onto the table.
"Don't give me this nonsense. Just tell me directly what the issue is!"
The project team leader was filled with helplessness.
"Ms. Chen, the time we had to develop the software was too rushed, and there are many bugs that we cannot eliminate."
"From yesterday to today, we have already received quite a few complaints and feedback from basic users..."
Before she could finish speaking, Chen Ling pointed at the project team leader's nose and scolded:
"Then that's your problem!"
"You didn't do your job well yourselves, and now you're using excuses to shirk responsibility. I'm telling you, you must fix all those bugs today."
"If you can't fix them, all of you can get out!"
The project team leader finally couldn't hold back.
He took off his Employee badge hanging around his neck and threw it directly onto the table.
"If we're leaving, we're leaving! I haven't wanted to work here for a long time!"
"Ever since Mr. Shen left, this job has become increasingly unbearable. You clearly don't understand anything, yet you insist on bossing us around."
"Tell me, how can you fix so many bugs in just one day?!"
"Constantly pretending to know when you don't—I've truly had enough. With a boss like you, this company will collapse sooner or later!"
Chen Ling's eyes widened.
A mere project team leader dared to scold her?!
He must be tired of living!
"Fine! You want to quit, right? Good, then get out right now!"
The project team leader rolled his eyes and spat on the floor:
"Don't worry, even if you begged me to stay, I wouldn't!"
"Demanding we create software in ten days was already pushing it, and you won't even pay overtime! A black-hearted company like yours should just close down early!"
After venting his anger, the project team leader left without looking back.
Chen Ling was furious. Shaking her hands, she roared at everyone in the project team's office area:
"Is there anyone else who shares his opinion? Step forward immediately, and I'll let all of you go!"
Hearing this, the Employee members of the project team looked at each other.
Immediately after, they stood up one by one, taking the Employee badges off their necks and placing them on the table.
Seeing so many people unwilling to continue working,
Chen Ling was stunned.
"Did your leader say something to you all?"
"I'm telling you, don't listen to him. As long as you continue working at the company, I will definitely give you a chance to make big money in the future!"
Before she could even finish painting the big picture,
these people had already left their desks.
Standing in the empty office area, Chen Ling felt an unprecedented sense of confusion.
Had she really done that poorly?
Why was it that after she took over the company, none of the Employees were willing to listen to her?
After a long silence, she asked her secretary beside her:
"Am I really doing that poorly?"
The secretary dared not nod.
If he dared to nod, the one leaving would be him.
"Of course not. Maybe they've just been too busy lately and are holding onto some resentment."
Chen Ling nodded in agreement.
That's right.
How could she possibly be wrong?
The ones at fault must be these people who want to leave.
It was fine. There were so many people looking for jobs now; she could easily recruit a new batch of project team Employees.
"You're right. Hurry up and contact HR. Tell them to process the resignations for these people. Oh, and make sure to deduct their pay. It's best if they don't receive their full salary."
The secretary was shocked.
He knew his boss was a black-hearted businesswoman.
But he didn't expect his boss to be this ruthless.
The people had already left,
and she still didn't want to pay them their full wages.
As a fellow grunt, he shed a tear of sympathy for those project team Employees in his heart.
"Okay, I'll go tell the HR manager right now."
Sympathy aside,
the work still needed to be done properly.
At Cheng Hu Company, in the boss's office.
"Look quickly!"
Chen Guangke handed his phone screen to Shen Yan.
Shen Yan glanced at it and asked,
"What is this?"
Chen Guangke replied,
"This is the software Chen Ling and the others just launched. A lot of one-star and two-star ratings suddenly appeared in the software's comment section."
"I estimate it might be because there are too many bugs in the software, and the users are getting impatient."
Shen Yan was not surprised by this matter.
He had already predicted that this software would have major problems.
At most, within a week,
this software would become inoperable due to too many bugs.
"Do you think Chen Ling will directly take this software down?"
Hearing Chen Guangke's question, Shen Yan let out a laugh.
"Do you think that's possible?"
Chen Guangke was a bit confused.
If it were him, he would definitely do that.
After all, software bugs affect their users.
To ensure user experience, taking it offline to fix the bugs was the only solution.
"Why is it impossible? The software has so many bugs. What other solution do they have besides taking it offline to fix them?"
Shen Yan pulled out a hint of a sneer with an inscrutable expression.
Chen Ling's understanding of software could be described as completely lacking.
The only reason her company was still running was entirely due to the foundation he had laid previously.
Based on his understanding of Chen Ling, she was very likely unaware of the importance of this matter.
