382: Chapter 382 Empty Proof

Wu Ya laughed in extreme anger.

"Are you blind? I haven't taken a single photo since I came in, how could I possibly be secretly photographing the styles of your store's evening gowns?!"

"Forget it, I'm not buying anything anymore, I can't be bothered to suffer your attitude!"

Just as she was about to leave, the Waitress ran directly in front of her and blocked her with outstretched hands.

"You are not allowed to leave! You look so guilty, you must have been here to secretly take photos! Hand over your phone!"

Seeing herself being treated like a thief, Wu Ya completely lost it: "I said I didn't take any pictures, I didn't!"

The two began to argue.

Shen Yan, who had gone next door to buy a hat, heard the commotion and arrived late.

"What's wrong? What happened?"

As soon as she saw Shen Yan, Wu Ya recounted her grievances with reddened eyes: "I want to leave, but she won't let me go, and she's calling me a thief!"

Hearing this, Shen Yan's expression immediately turned cold. He frowned and asked the Waitress, "Who are you calling a thief?"

The Waitress hadn't expected Wu Ya to have a companion. She first took a step back in fear, then puffed out her chest as if steeling herself.

"Don't think I'll be scared just because there are two of you against me. Secretly photographing is wrong. If you don't hand over your phones for me to check, I'll call the police!"

Shen Yan was amused by the Waitress's audacity.

"You say we secretly photographed—where is your evidence?"

Waitress: "..."

It was all just her speculation; where would she get proof?

Seeing that she couldn't speak for a long time, Shen Yan said coldly to the Waitress, "Call your manager out here."

The Waitress pursed her lips, turned around, and went to the back to fetch her manager.

"What happened?"

The manager of this evening gown shop was a tall, slightly plump man.

Hearing the manager's question, the Waitress leaned over and quietly recounted the whole story to the manager.

"So that's how it is. Then you two should take out your phones."

Shen Yan had initially thought the manager of this shop would be a reasonable person, but he didn't expect the manager to immediately ask the two of them to hand over their phones.

He closed his eyes and asked the manager, "Why should we hand over our phones?"

The manager replied to them in an expected tone: "We must ensure that you haven't secretly photographed the evening gowns in our store."

"If you truly haven't taken any pictures, then take out your phones. Once we look, we will naturally let you go."

Shen Yan had never heard such twisted logic before. The corner of his mouth curved up, but there was no humor in his eyes.

"What I mean is, every customer who enters your shop must allow you to inspect their phones, is that right?"

The manager shook his head and replied, "Although it's not just people like you who sneak in and then leave shortly after that would arouse our suspicion."

"Let's not beat around the bush. I see plenty of people like you—looking all dressed up, but in reality, you're all thieves!"

Because their argument started near the entrance, the surrounding area quickly filled with onlookers.

"What's going on?"

"It seems like someone was secretly photographing the clothes?"

"Huh? Why would anyone secretly photograph clothes?"

"I don't know, maybe protecting copyrights..."

Just as the customers started murmuring and buzzing with discussion, Shen Yan closed his eyes and said to the manager:

"Our phones contain all of our private information. We have no obligation to let you look at our phones. If you want to look, fine, call the police."

"But remember this: after you call the police and find that there isn't a single photo of your store's clothes on our phones, you must apologize."

The manager seemed to have heard a ridiculous joke. He stepped forward and said to Shen Yan in an overbearing and unreasonable tone: "Why bother calling the police for people like you? That will only delay our business. I'll give you three counts, hand over your phones immediately, or don't blame me for being impolite!"

Shen Yan was completely unfazed by his threat.

"Fine, then don't be polite. Let's see how you plan to be impolite to us."

The manager didn't expect the person in front of him to be so unyielding to both soft and hard tactics.

He gritted his teeth and directly reached out to snatch the phone from Wu Ya's hand.

Just as Wu Ya let out a startled scream, the manager suddenly felt his hand being clamped as if by pliers, unable to move.

He looked up and saw that it was Shen Yan holding his hand.

"You..."

Before he could finish speaking, he was thrown over Shen Yan's shoulder onto the ground.

"Ah!"

A scream rang out.

The crowd surrounding them all took a step back.

"Oh my god, a fight actually broke out?"

"Should we call the police?"

"Damn, so it's this shop. I've long found them annoying. Not only are the evening gowns in the store ridiculously expensive, but the Waitress's attitude is as bad as if we owed them money..."

"Hahaha, evil deeds will eventually be punished. Someone has finally come to deal with them!"

Shen Yan was unaware that the surrounding people had already started applauding.

He lifted his foot and kicked the manager still lying on the ground forcefully: "Get up. Weren't you about to be impolite to us?"

The manager lay on the ground, clutching his stomach, and pointed at him, shouting: "You! I'm calling the police! I'm calling the police to have you arrested!"

Wu Ya next to him rolled her eyes hard.

"You're allowed to use force, but we're not allowed to, is that it?!"

The manager scrambled up from the ground while shouting: "You group of rude country bumpkins, you deserve to be poor your whole lives!"

Hearing this, Shen Yan couldn't help but laugh.

"So you actually knew we weren't photographing your store's evening gowns, you just wanted to make things difficult for us because you thought we couldn't afford the clothes here, right?"

The manager didn't deny it. He snorted coldly, then walked towards the cash register to call the police.

Shen Yan did not stop the manager's action.

He was confident that he could make the two people in front of him apologize to him and Wu Ya in front of the police.

Just as he and Wu Ya stood there waiting, a voice suddenly came from outside.

"What are you people doing?!"

Shen Yan and Wu Ya turned toward the sound and saw a young man dressed in a sharp suit with a handsome face entering.

The manager and the Waitress both changed their expressions upon seeing the young man.

"Boss..."

Hearing this title, both Shen Yan and Wu Ya were slightly surprised. They hadn't expected the owner of this shop to be such a young person.

However, the surprise didn't last long in their minds; they had a very bad impression of this shop, so they also had a bad impression of the shop's owner.

The young owner ignored the two of them and continued to ask the manager, "What exactly happened? Why is there a dispute at the entrance?"
