789: Chapter 784 Truth is the only God

Shen Yan looked down at him, a slight curve forming at the corner of his mouth.

"Want to see the rest? Quit drinking, take a shower, and meet me in the penthouse suite of the Hilton Hotel at eight tomorrow morning."

After speaking, Shen Yan turned and left, his leather shoes making crisp sounds on the wet flagstones.

Behind him, Lin Tuo's heart-wrenching shouts echoed.

"I'll quit! I'll quit right now! Don't go! I beg you, let me see one more time!"

One down.

The private jet took off overnight, heading straight for Zurich.

Compared to the cold gloom of London, the night in Zurich was filled with the scent of money and power.

At the academic exchange dinner of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, elegant ladies and gentlemen mingled, and wine glasses clinked.

Adrian Weiss, wearing a perfectly tailored bespoke suit and holding a glass of champagne, was surrounded by a group of scholars as the center of attention.

He had typical Germanic features, with deep-set eyes and an arrogant expression.

"That so-called 'Candle Dragon' chip?"

Adrian swirled his wine glass, his tone full of disdain.

"It's nothing more than piling up materials in engineering. In the face of true quantum supremacy, whether it's a silicon-based chip or a carbon-based chip, they are all the abacuses of primitive people."

The people around him echoed his sentiments. Although some found him arrogant, they had to admit his authoritative status in the quantum field.

"Professor Weiss is right. The Chinese can only make some headway at the application layer; when it comes to fundamental theories, they are still far behind."

Just then, a clear voice abruptly interjected.

"Is that so? Then I'd like to ask Professor Weiss how he solves the interference from vacuum fluctuations regarding the correction parameters for Bell's inequality over ultra-long distances?"

The crowd automatically parted to make a path.

Shen Yan, holding a glass of soda water, strolled in leisurely.

Adrian frowned, looking at the unfamiliar Asian face.

"Who are you? This is an elite academic circle, not a commercial sales pitch."

Shen Yan smiled, ignoring his mockery, and walked directly to the whiteboard nearby.

He picked up a black marker and began writing a string of formulas fluently on it.

Initially, Adrian was still full of disdain, preparing to call security to throw the troublemaker out.

But as Shen Yan's pen moved, Adrian's expression changed.

It shifted from disdain to confusion, then from confusion to shock, and finally to a look of terror as if he had seen a ghost.

That was the insurmountable hurdle he had struggled to overcome for three years!

It was the theoretical loophole he had tried to conceal!

And yet, this young man had solved it in such a concise and elegant manner?

The entire banquet hall fell deathly silent.

Only the 'swish-swish' sound of the marker rubbing against the whiteboard seemed like a series of slaps across Adrian's face.

After writing the last character, Shen Yan tossed the pen aside and brushed the dust off his hands.

"Professor Weiss, it seems your quantum supremacy still has a long way to go."

Shen Yan finished speaking, did not even glance at the dumbfounded Adrian, and turned toward the exit.

When you pamper geniuses of this caliber, the more they look down on you. Only by crushing them in their professional field, by trampling their proud dignity underfoot, will they follow like a dog.

As expected, before Shen Yan could even exit the banquet hall doors, hurried footsteps sounded behind him.

Adrian disregarded all gentlemanly conduct, still clutching the empty wine glass, and breathlessly intercepted Shen Yan.

His pride was shattered on the floor, his eyes filled with a desperate thirst for knowledge and fear of the unknown.

"Wait a moment! Sir! Please wait a moment!"

Adrian swallowed, his voice trembling.

"That formula... how did you derive that last variable? How did you do it?"

Shen Yan stopped, lowered his head, and checked his watch.

"I'm in a hurry; my plane takes off in an hour."

Adrian panicked and grabbed Shen Yan's sleeve, afraid he would run away.

"I can go with you! Wherever you go! As long as you let me participate in this project, I'm willing to be an assistant!"

The surrounding guests' jaws nearly dropped to the floor.

Was this really Adrian Weiss, who was so arrogant he dared to give the US President's special envoy a cold shoulder?

Shen Yan calmly pulled back his sleeve and adjusted his collar.

"An assistant is unnecessary. My company happens to be in need of a director for the Quantum Laboratory. However, I must state one thing: over there, there is only truth, not authority."

Adrian nodded frantically, like a child who had just received candy.

"No problem! To hell with authority! Truth is the only God!"

On the return flight, the cabin was very quiet.

In the seat to his left, Lin Tuo, having already washed up thoroughly, was engrossed in calculating figures from the few sheets of blueprints, muttering to himself.

In the seat to his right, Adrian was staring blankly out at the clouds, occasionally recording something in his notebook, and occasionally looking up at Shen Yan with reverence.

Shen Yan sat in the middle, resting with his eyes closed.

His left and right arms were now in place; the foundation for quantum communication had been laid.

The world ahead was about to become much more interesting.

At that moment, his cell phone vibrated in his pocket.

It was a message from Liang Yibai, just one short line.

"Boss, 'pangu' just captured an abnormal data stream, seemingly originating from... beneath the foundation of the sky city."

Shen Yan's eyes snapped open, a cold glint flashing in his deep pupils.

It seemed some rats hiding in the gutter were still not giving up.

Shen Yan looked at the line of text on his phone screen.

An abnormal data stream from beneath the foundation of the 'sky city'.

If it were before, he might have thought it was a sensor malfunction.

But now, the red exclamation mark from the tycoon system was already flashing on his retina.

[Warning: External malicious data intrusion detected.]

[Source: Northern European Cavendish Family, codename 'Odin's Spear'.]

[Objective: Induce biological resonance by overloading the mechanical sensors of the underground 'spider web' structure, leading to physical collapse of the foundation.]

Shen Yan turned off his phone screen.

The air in the cabin was quiet.

Lin Tuo was still calculating like a madman.

Adrian Weiss was still recording inspiration.

These two top brains, newly recruited, had no idea what kind of storm they were about to be swept into.

Shen Yan reclined his seat back.

The Cavendish Family.

That behemoth that had been entrenched in Europe for three centuries, controlling the lifeline of old energy and several multinational Banks.

It seemed his actions in the energy and chip fields had finally awakened these sleeping crocodiles.

Want to destroy my foundation?

Shen Yan pulled a mint candy from his pocket and popped it into his mouth.

Chewed.

Since they've come, they shouldn't leave.

The plane landed at Jinghai International Airport just as dawn was breaking.

Chen Guangke was personally waiting on the tarmac, driving the modified off-road vehicle.
