137: Chapter 137 If you harass me again, I'll call the police.

Back in the dormitory, Lin Xi stood before her wardrobe, her fingers sliding across a row of hangers.

She first pulled out a white knit sweater with a soft, plush texture; the neckline slightly revealed a sliver of her collarbone.

Then, she pulled out a black A-line skirt from below, which hit just at mid-thigh.

She laid the two pieces of clothing on the bed, stood in front of the mirror to hold them up against herself, tilted her head, and thought they looked pretty good.

Just as she was about to change, her hand paused, as if she had suddenly remembered something.

A faint blush appeared on her face.

She hesitated for a few seconds, then turned and walked to the deepest part of the closet, pulling out a brand-new pair of skin-colored stockings from beneath her neatly folded clothes.

The packaging was still unopened.

This was something she had bought when she and Chen Fan went to the mall last time; it had been sitting in the closet, never worn.

She stood in front of the mirror, opened the package, and carefully put them on. The stockings were very thin; they were barely visible against her legs, but they made her leg lines appear smoother.

After changing, she stood in front of the mirror and examined herself from head to toe.

A white knit sweater paired with a black skirt, and a pair of white mid-calf boots on her feet, revealing a section of her lower leg wrapped in stockings. Her hair was let down, draped over her shoulders, with the ends slightly curled.

She looked at herself in the mirror, a flicker of satisfaction in her eyes.

She then turned, took a small chain bag from the closet, slung it across her body, took a deep breath, and pushed the door open to leave.

South Gate of Changan University.

When Lin Xi arrived, Chen Fan hadn't reached yet. She stood beside the stone pier at the school gate, waiting quietly, glancing down at her phone from time to time.

The autumn evening breeze blew over, bringing a hint of chill, fluttering the neckline of her sweater. She reached up to gather her hair and tucked it behind her ears.

She was already very beautiful, and with today's outfit, standing at the school gate, she looked like someone who had just stepped out of a pictorial. Students entering and leaving the school couldn't help but take a few extra glances at her; some even looked back after walking past.

Lin Xi noticed those gazes but ignored them, simply keeping her head slightly lowered, her fingers boredly swiping across her phone screen.

At this moment, a boy walked out from the school gate.

He was just over 1.8 meters tall, handsome, wearing a black jacket and a pair of limited-edition sneakers, his entire demeanor exuding an air of "well-off family background."

Upon seeing Lin Xi, his footsteps visibly paused, and a flash of light crossed his eyes.

He straightened his collar, adjusted his expression, and walked straight up to Lin Xi, wearing a smile he deemed just right.

"Hello, beautiful. My name is Zhao Qing. Can we get to know each other?"

Lin Xi looked up, glanced at him, and frowned slightly.

"Sorry, I have a boyfriend." Her voice wasn't loud, but her tone was firm, leaving no room for negotiation.

The smile on Zhao Qing's face froze for a fraction of a second, but he quickly recovered. He waved his hand, his tone feigning casualness: "Uh, I don't mean anything else. I just want to get to know you and make a friend, that's all."

Lin Xi's brow furrowed even deeper, and a flash of annoyance crossed his eyes.

Why was this person so relentless?

She stared at Zhao Qing and said word by word: "I'll say this again: I don't want to get to know you. If you harass me again, I will call the police."

After speaking, she took her phone out of her pocket; the screen was lit up, and her finger was already poised over the dial button.

Seeing her posture, as if she were really about to call the police, Zhao Qing hurriedly waved his hands and took a step back: "Don't, don't, don't. I'll leave now, I'm leaving now."

He turned and left, walking quickly, but after covering some distance, he slowed down.

He didn't go far.

He stood by the flower bed next to the school gate, glancing over at Lin Xi from time to time.

He was unwilling to give up.

Growing up, he had always been quite confident in his looks. In the past, whenever he wanted to get to know a girl at school, he basically never failed. Even when he occasionally encountered someone with a boyfriend, the other party wouldn't be this cold and absolute.

Today, he had finally run into someone exceptionally beautiful at the gate, only for her to not even give him a second look, and even threaten him with calling the police.

He wanted to see just what kind of person this girl's boyfriend was.

If he was just an ordinary person—he calculated in his mind—then he would cause that guy some trouble, and incidentally, let this girl see the gap between her boyfriend and himself.

He leaned against the flower bed, hands in his pockets, his gaze fixed on the direction of the school gate.

Just then, a black porsche cayenne drove over from a distance and came to a smooth stop at the school gate.

The car body shimmered with a low-key luster under the streetlights, and the car logo was particularly striking in the night.

The car door opened.

A boy about 1.85 meters tall stepped out of the car. He was wearing a dark casual jacket; his facial features were distinct, his posture upright, and just standing there, he carried a sense of composure that didn't quite match his age.

Zhao Qing squinted his eyes and watched for a moment, his heart skipping a beat.

The boy closed the door and walked straight toward the school gate—toward that girl.

Seeing the person approach, a sweet smile instantly bloomed on Lin Xi's face, and she trotted over to meet him.

Standing by the flower bed, Zhao Qing looked at that black porsche cayenne, then looked at his own Volkswagen, worth about 200,000 yuan, parked on the side of the road. The expression on his face shifted from unwillingness to complexity, and then from complexity to a knowing, sensible calm.

As a boy from a reasonably well-off family, he knew very clearly—who he could afford to provoke, and who he couldn't.

This boy looked less than twenty years old, yet he could drive a Porsche worth over a million; either his family had a gold mine, or he had already made a name for himself. Regardless of the situation, he was not someone he could provoke.

After all, his family's assets totaled only a few million at most, and his father had been driving an Audi for seven or eight years that had cost less than 400,000 when bought new.

Zhao Qing took one last look at the two people chatting and laughing over there, then turned and left. This time he really left, walking quickly without looking back.

At the school gate.

Chen Fan walked up to Lin Xi and looked her up and down.

"Have you been waiting long?"

"No, I just came out a moment ago." Lin Xi shook her head, her voice soft.

"That's good." Chen Fan nodded, his gaze landing on Lin Xi and not shifting away.

The white knit sweater clung softly to her body, with a sliver of her collarbone exposed at the neckline. Beneath the black skirt, a pair of white mid-calf boots wrapped around her lower legs. She looked a bit more mature than usual, and there was an indescribable air about her.

What caught Chen Fan's attention even more was—she seemed to be wearing stockings today.

That faint, barely-there skin tone was almost invisible under the streetlights, but he noticed it nonetheless.

"What is it?" Lin Xi felt a bit uncomfortable being stared at, reaching up to touch her face. "Is there something on my face?"
