176: Chapter 176 Lin Xi's Roommate

"Hey, Xixi." His voice softened slightly.

"Are you... busy tonight?" On the other end of the phone, Lin Xi's voice sounded a bit hesitant.

"I'm free. What's up?" Chen Fan leaned back against the sofa, his lips curling up into an unconscious smile.

"I... I can come out tonight. Do you want to come to my school?" After saying this, Lin Xi's voice clearly carried a hint of embarrassment.

Hearing this, a flicker of amusement passed through Chen Fan's eyes. He deliberately slowed down his speech and asked, "What, did you miss me?"

"I did not! Who missed you?" Lin Xi immediately retorted, her words coming out fast as if on double speed, but she couldn't hide her fluster and shyness.

"I guess I was just being sentimental then." Chen Fan sighed, feigning a look of regret.

Silence hung on the other end for two seconds. "Fine, if you're not coming, then forget it."

"I'm coming." Chen Fan chuckled, patted his knees, and stood up. "I'm heading over right now."

"No need to be so early. I still have one more class. Come over at six."

"Alright, whatever you say."

"Mm... see you at six then."

Chen Fan looked at the screen of the ended call and shook his head with a smile.

...

At 6:00 PM, Chen Fan's car pulled up at the entrance of Changan University.

In late autumn, it got dark early. The streetlights were already on, and many students were coming and going through the school gate, chatting and laughing in small groups.

Chen Fan turned off the engine and leaned back in the driver's seat, his gaze fixed on the school entrance.

Before long, Lin Xi's figure appeared at the school gate.

However, Lin Xi wasn't alone today; she was accompanied by three other girls.

The four youthful and beautiful girls walking together were quite eye-catching.

Lin Xi wore an off-white knitted cardigan with her long hair draped over her shoulders, standing out remarkably among the group.

Beside her was Su Ting, a long-haired girl who wasn't exactly a beauty but looked very spirited. She was holding Lin Xi's arm and looking around.

Of the other two, one was Fang Linlin, who had short hair, a round face, and large eyes, looking quite lively; the other was He Siyi, who was tall and followed quietly behind. Though not as striking as Lin Xi, she was still considered pretty.

Su Ting's gaze swept across the parking area, and she asked somewhat uncertainly, "Xixi, where's your boyfriend? I don't see anyone."

Lin Xi pointed to the black Porsche parked not far from the school gate. "Over there."

Su Ting looked in the direction she was pointing, a look of confusion on her face. "No, there's only a car there."

"Yeah, I don't see him either. Xixi, you're not pulling our leg, are you?" Fang Linlin chimed in, standing on her tiptoes to get a better look.

"It's that black car. He drove here."

Su Ting froze upon hearing this, her expression shifting from confusion to disbelief. She knew a bit about cars and recognized it as a Porsche, costing at least a million yuan. She had subconsciously assumed that no matter what Lin Xi's boyfriend was like, he wouldn't be driving a car like that.

"Do you know what kind of car that is?" Su Ting asked in a lowered voice.

"I know, it's a Porsche." Lin Xi nodded.

Su Ting and Fang Linlin exchanged a look, both of their eyes widening. They looked at the car again, then at Lin Xi, and neither of them spoke.

He Siyi stood to the side. Although she didn't say anything, she took a few extra glances toward the black Porsche.

Just then, the Porsche's door opened. Chen Fan stepped out from the driver's seat, closed the door, and walked toward them.

He wasn't dressed formally today, wearing a dark casual jacket over a short-sleeved shirt, looking clean and sharp.

The streetlight shone on him. Standing there at 186 cm tall, he was indeed very striking.

Fang Linlin was the first to react, muttering under her breath, "Holy crap, he's actually pretty handsome."

Su Ting pinched her, telling her not to talk nonsense.

Chen Fan walked up to Lin Xi, his gaze lingering on her for a moment before looking at the girls beside her. "Xixi, who are these ladies?" he asked naturally.

Before Lin Xi could speak, Fang Linlin beat her to it. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Chen Fan, her tone filled with excitement and gossip. "Hey handsome, are you Xixi's boyfriend?"

Su Ting pinched her again, but Fang Linlin ignored her and continued staring at Chen Fan.

Chen Fan nodded. "Yes. Hello, everyone."

He Siyi, who hadn't spoken until now, couldn't help but speak up. Her voice was soft but clear. "Xixi, aren't you going to introduce us?"

Lin Xi glanced at Chen Fan, her face tinged with a slightly unnatural blush, but she still spoke up gracefully in front of everyone. "This is my boyfriend, Chen Fan." Then she pointed to the three girls. "They're my roommates: Su Ting, Fang Linlin, and He Siyi."

Chen Fan nodded, considering the formal introductions made.

He looked at Lin Xi and then at the girls, saying casually, "Since we've run into each other today, let me treat you all to dinner."

Fang Linlin's eyes lit up, and she was the first to respond. "Sure, sure!"

Su Ting quickly grabbed her arm and smiled at Chen Fan. "We actually have some things to do, so we won't disturb you." After saying that, she winked at Lin Xi, her meaning clear—you two enjoy your date, we won't be third wheels.

Fang Linlin wanted to say something more, but she was hauled away by Su Ting and He Siyi, one on each side.

Watching the girls walk away, Lin Xi couldn't help but let out a faint smile.

She looked at Chen Fan. "Let's go."

After getting into the car, Chen Fan asked as he started the engine, "How come you came out with your roommates today?"

"They were going shopping, and since they knew I was coming to see you, they wanted to see what you looked like." Lin Xi buckled her seatbelt, her tone flat, but her lips curled with a hint of pride she couldn't hide.

Chen Fan glanced at her and smiled. "So, how was it? I didn't embarrass you, did I?"

How could he have embarrassed her? When her roommates saw Chen Fan, Lin Xi could sense their surprise, which gave her a little thrill of joy deep down as a young girl.

However, Lin Xi didn't want to admit it directly to keep Chen Fan from getting too full of himself. She rolled her eyes and said, "It's fine. Even if you were embarrassing, I wouldn't mind."

Hearing this, Chen Fan raised an eyebrow, his lips curving into a mischievous arc. "Oh? Daring to say I'm embarrassing? It looks like I'll have to make you cry tonight."

At Chen Fan's words, Lin Xi's face turned slightly red. "What are you talking about?"

Although she and Chen Fan had already taken that final step, Lin Xi still felt a bit shy about such suggestive remarks.

But Chen Fan quite liked this side of Lin Xi.

It wasn't a deliberate, seductive charm, but a natural, girlish shyness.

Even though everything had already happened between them, she would still blush all the way to her ears over a slightly suggestive comment from him. This sense of contrast made him want to tease her even more.

She was completely different from Qiao Linlin.
