309: Chapter 309 Resort Hotel
After leaving Patek Philippe, the two passed by a jewelry counter.
Chen Fan stopped, pointed at a necklace, and asked the sales associate to take it out, then walked behind Su Mian and naturally put it on for her.
After putting it on, Chen Fan handed her the mirror from the table: "See if you like it."
Su Mian took a look at herself in the mirror; the chain shimmered with fine light under the lamps, and the pendant fell just below her collarbone, matching the neckline of her white short-sleeved shirt perfectly. A flash of delight crossed her eyes; she put down the mirror and nodded.
Seeing this, Chen Fan didn't even ask the price and turned directly to the sales associate, saying: "Wrap it up."
"Certainly, sir. This necklace is twenty-three thousand eight hundred. Will you be paying by card or cash?" the sales associate asked with a smile.
"Card," Chen Fan said, pulling his bank card from his bag to pay.
After leaving the jewelry store, Chen Fan took Su Mian to browse a few clothing stores.
Su Mian didn't really like buying clothes much, usually wearing Fanti's own styles, but since Chen Fan had pulled her into the store, she followed along, looked around, and tried on two pieces, both of which looked quite good.
Chen Fan took one look from the side and said, "Buy them," not really giving her a chance to refuse throughout the whole process.
They passed by a lingerie store along the way, which Chen Fan naturally didn't miss, and he led her inside again.
Although she was a bit embarrassed, Su Mian didn't refuse, and following Chen Fan's requests, she picked out several particularly stunning pieces.
After buying the clothes, Chen Fan didn't pause, his gaze sweeping over the nearby counters as if checking to see what else he could buy.
Sensing that he intended to keep shopping, Su Mian hurriedly reached out and tugged at his arm.
Chen Fan turned his head to look at her: "What's wrong?"
"I'm hungry," Su Mian said softly.
Chen Fan looked at her and smiled: "Alright, let's go eat then."
After eating, Chen Fan drove Su Mian away from the mall.
Although she didn't know where Chen Fan was going, Su Mian didn't ask; she trusted that Chen Fan wouldn't sell her off anyway.
Chen Fan's destination was a scenic area located within Zhashui County, Shangluo.
Because of the experience with the rainstorm last time, Chen Fan chose a mature scenic area this time, unlike the previous place, Fengyu Kou, which was unmanaged.
He had researched this place beforehand; it was located in Yingpan Town, Zhashui County, at the southern foot of the Qinling Mountains, right next to Niubeiliang National Forest Park.
There was a super five-star hotel inside, covering over 2,600 mu, with 580 guest rooms and a villa area.
He planned to bring Su Mian here to play for two days and experience the scenery of the Qinling Mountains.
Actually, Chen Fan had considered whether to bring Chen Tong, but ultimately decided against it; after all, bringing her would just make her a third wheel, and he would have to be sneaky if he wanted to do anything with Su Mian at night.
The car drove for nearly two hours, exited the highway, and traveled along a mountain road for a while before finally stopping at an entrance surrounded by mountains.
Chen Fan confirmed the booking information with the guard, then slowly drove inside.
Both sides of the road were planted with neat sycamores and pines, extending upward along a gentle slope; the air carried the scent of vegetation and earth, and it was several degrees cooler than the city.
Su Mian sat up straight and looked around curiously: "Where is this?"
"Zhashui, Shangluo, inside the Qinling Mountains," Chen Fan said, slowing the car down. "I'm bringing you here to stay for two days."
Su Mian followed his gaze; the buildings ahead were built along the mountain, their gray-white exterior walls appearing low-key and serene against the backdrop of green trees. In the distance, layers of mountains stacked up, with clouds and mist swirling around the hillsides.
Su Mian said: "It would be nice if we had brought Tongtong."
"If we brought her, you'd have to sneak into my room at night."
Su Mian subconsciously replied: "That's true."
Only after speaking did she realize what she had said, and her earlobes turned red immediately.
After the car was parked, the two got out; the mountain wind blew against their faces, carrying the scent of vegetation and earth.
A uniformed waiter stood at the lobby entrance; seeing guests arrive, he stepped forward to take the car keys, while another person helped with the luggage.
Chen Fan led Su Mian into the lobby, which was spacious and bright. The wooden decorations and large floor-to-ceiling windows naturally brought the mountain scenery outside into the interior, making the entire space quiet and transparent.
Chen Fan walked to the front desk and gave his name. After the staff checked the information, their attitude became noticeably more respectful: "Mr. Chen, the scenic villa you reserved is ready. I will take you there."
The two followed the staff out of the lobby, where a white open-top sightseeing car was parked at the entrance.
Driving slowly up along the stone path, the trees on both sides became denser, and the scent of vegetation in the air grew stronger. After bypassing a bamboo grove, a two-story building with gray-white exterior walls appeared before them. There was a small lawn in front of the door, and wooden wind chimes hung under the eaves, making crisp sounds when the wind blew.
The staff swiped a card to push open the courtyard gate and stepped aside to let them enter first.
The moment Su Mian walked in, she paused; it was much more spacious than the vacation villas she had seen online. The first floor was a living room and an open kitchen, with an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling windows facing the mountain scenery outside. Sunlight streamed in through the glass, illuminating the entire space and making it look bright and airy.
Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows was a wooden terrace with two lounge chairs and a small round table, facing the layered mountains in the distance, where she could see the thin mist swirling around the mountain peaks.
Walking up the spiral staircase was the bedroom, which also had floor-to-ceiling windows. The view was even more expansive than downstairs, and standing by the window, one could see the entire valley.
Next to the bedroom was an open-air soaking pool surrounded by wooden planks. Heat rose slowly from the water's surface, intertwining with the cool mountain breeze around them.
Chen Fan noticed the soaking pool at first glance; seemingly thinking of something, a smile appeared in his eyes.
"This place is quiet," Su Mian said softly.
"Yeah, I chose this place precisely because it's quiet," Chen Fan said, turning his head to look at her. "Are you tired?"
Su Mian shook her head: "Not tired."
Chen Fan said: "I'm tired and want to soak for a while." He raised his hand and pointed to the open-air soaking pool next to the bedroom. "Let's go together."
Su Mian took one look and quickly withdrew her gaze, a flush of shyness appearing on her face, her voice dropping a bit: "It's broad daylight... let's talk about it tonight."
Chen Fan looked at her, the corners of his mouth curving up, and he didn't press her: "Alright, we'll talk about it tonight then."
"However," Chen Fan changed the subject, whispering in Su Mian's ear, "after you shower tonight, put on the clothes we bought today."
As soon as he finished speaking, a crimson flush appeared on Su Mian's face. She was silent for two or three seconds, then nodded gently.
