172: Chapter 172 Come to my place tonight
The girl at the front desk watched Chen Fan's retreating figure with eyes full of curiosity.
Her name was Su Yao, and she had just started work last month in an administrative role under Qiao Linlin.
She had been at the company for a while now and had seen Chen Fan many times.
At first, she thought he was just some handsome colleague and even wondered if she could get to know him.
After all, she was considered quite pretty herself, with a melon-shaped face and fair skin, enough to turn heads in a crowd once she put on makeup.
During her first few days, she had specifically asked around which department that guy in the dark jacket belonged to.
It was only later that she learned this tall and handsome colleague was the company's boss.
She immediately lost interest—not because she was afraid of Chen Fan's status as the boss.
On the contrary, she liked him even more because he was the boss; after all, the "domineering CEO" from novels was finally appearing in real life.
She used to treat the "CEO falls in love with me" plots in those novels as jokes, but now that she realized her own boss was even younger and more handsome than the CEOs in the books, she had even secretly fantasized about it.
But she quickly came to her senses.
It wasn't that she was afraid of Chen Fan, but rather that she couldn't compete.
What made her give up those thoughts was her current manager, Chen Fan's assistant, Qiao Linlin.
Qiao Linlin was taller than her, had longer legs, a slimmer waist, and was prettier than her.
Compared to her, Qiao Linlin held the advantage in terms of figure, looks, and age.
And as Chen Fan's assistant, she believed the two of them were definitely in an intimate relationship.
Therefore, she no longer had any other thoughts.
Walking along the corridor to the right of the front desk, there were two large rooms side by side.
One was a training room, and the other was a large conference room.
The training room was currently empty, mainly because the company didn't have many employees yet, so there was no need for new employee training.
Even if there were training, it would be done within each team, not centrally.
As for the large conference room, it had a conference table and a projector, but they hadn't held any meetings there yet.
There were two medium-sized conference rooms next to the workstation area, where meetings were held each time.
Once there were more people later on, they would switch to using this side.
Further ahead was an empty space.
When he first came to look at the office, the staff at the Software Park said this place could be turned into a gym or a recreation room.
Chen Fan had felt back then that a gym would be very suitable, but because he was in a hurry to move in, he had kept this idea at the back of his mind.
Now, seeing this space, Chen Fan wondered if he could set up a gym.
At this stage, equipment for a small gym could be settled for a hundred or two hundred thousand, which was nothing for the company.
With a gym, the company employees could come here to work out, and he himself could come here to exercise sometimes; after all, sitting at a workstation all the time really wasn't good for his health.
Thinking of this, he immediately called Qiao Linlin.
"Hello, Boss."
"Come to my location, over at the gym hall."
"Okay, I'll be right there."
Less than a minute after hanging up, Qiao Linlin arrived where Chen Fan was.
"Boss, what is it?" Qiao Linlin stood at the doorway, still holding her phone.
Chen Fan stood in the middle of the empty space and gestured around: "This room, arrange for the admin team to find someone to fix it up and turn it into a gym."
"Turn it into a gym?" Qiao Linlin walked in and looked around.
The room was not small, about sixty or seventy square meters, with gray floor tiles and white-painted walls; the lights were on, making the whole room bright.
"Yes, it's not good to sit at the workstation all the time; exercising occasionally is good for your health." Chen Fan stood by the window with his hands in his pockets, looking outside.
"What standard should I follow for the setup?" Qiao Linlin took her phone out of her pocket and opened her notes to prepare to write it down.
"The standard of a regular gym will do. Put three treadmills by the window, put the elliptical machines over there, and put the dumbbell rack in the corner. Lay down dark gray rubber flooring, and install a full-wall mirror along the wall. Check the ventilation and air conditioning too; it won't do if the air in the gym area doesn't circulate."
Chen Fan thought for a moment, "You go and look into the specifics first, then come up with a plan for me to see. If it's okay, we'll start the renovation."
Qiao Linlin was typing rapidly on her notes and looked up at him: "What's the approximate budget?"
"You handle it; just don't exceed five hundred thousand." Chen Fan turned to walk out a few steps, then stopped, "Oh, right, consider the changing room; do we need lockers? There's nowhere for employees to put their clothes and shoes when they work out."
"I'll add the lockers to the plan." Qiao Linlin said, following behind him.
"Alright, just arrange for this matter to be handled; you don't need to do it yourself."
Qiao Linlin nodded, but didn't leave; she stood there looking at Chen Fan, appearing hesitant to speak.
"What's wrong? Is there something else?" Chen Fan saw her expression and asked.
Qiao Linlin looked at Chen Fan, her voice dropping a little: "Do you want to come to my place tonight?"
Chen Fan was stunned upon hearing this, then immediately looked around; only after confirming that no one else was passing through the hallway did he breathe a sigh of relief.
He looked at Qiao Linlin with a hint of helplessness in his tone, his voice lowered significantly: "You don't even look at where we are, saying this in the company. What if someone passes by and hears it?"
Qiao Linlin realized it was inappropriate and quickly lowered her head, twisting her phone with her fingers, and said in a low voice: "Boss, I know I was wrong, please don't be angry."
Her tone was pitiful, but Chen Fan knew her too well; this expression was thirty percent real and seventy percent acting.
"Alright, stop acting." Chen Fan glanced at her, "I will go tonight."
Hearing Chen Fan say this, Qiao Linlin returned to her normal demeanor; a hint of a smile appeared in her eyes, the corners of her mouth curved up, and her eyes sparkled.
She nodded, her tone light: "Okay, Boss, then I'll go first."
Chen Fan watched Qiao Linlin's retreating back, also feeling somewhat helpless.
Ever since they had become intimate, she would ask him to go to her place every few days.
The reasons were always different— "I bought new clothes," "I made something delicious," "I'm scared being alone"—the excuses were always the same few, but Chen Fan went every time.
It wasn't that he was easy to fool, but that he wanted to go too.
At his age, he was naturally full of vigor, not to mention that the system had also strengthened Chen Fan's kidneys.
He had a strong demand for that kind of thing.
And Lin Xi lived in the school dormitory and couldn't come out often, so the number of times the two of them could meet was limited, only two or three times a month.
So every time Qiao Linlin called him, he never refused.
But the problem was that she was both unskilled and loved to play.
Every time, she was the one who initiated it, but every time, she was the first to beg for mercy.
